This certainly is great news in terms of advertising.

Hey I resent that...well, actually I resent Ron getting my username wrong...well, more like I am mildly amused. Oh, right, my point. Okay, the reason why Terran worlds can support a shield generator (once they are fully upgraded) is that they have far more developed infrastructure than any Ice/Volcanic/Desert planet can achieve. Anyway, there is logic to my argument, but I'll admit it is a bit complex. I am really just looking for a way for shield generators not to be
That is why I think it should only be available to fully upgraded Terran worlds THAT have had the necessary tech researched (can use the already present Planetary Shield Generator research and upgrades). Asteroids and 'lesser' planets like Ice, Desert and Volcano lack the necessary power and infrastructure, and require the traditional tactical shield generator in orbit to have shields. As a minor point, Terran worlds shouldn't get a damage reduction stacking bonus by having pla
Yeah, I've always wanted there to be a planet based generator. Maybe they could allow it as an additional upgrade available only for Terran planets that have reached a high enough upgrade level of population/emergency infrastructure. Don't get me wrong here, I am not saying that they should remove the 'as is' planetary shield generator. I am just saying that TEC players who have upgraded their Terran worlds AND have researched shield generator technology should be able to get an addit
Congrats to Ruin's well earned promotion from Officer to Captain.
Just a suggestion about the Planetary Shield generators. As they are now, nobody really bothers to research them or use them. They cost a lot to research, they require a large number of labs, and they are exclusively defensive structures. Yes, I agree that they have some use, but only in very large games. However, they would actually become useful IF they were given the Dunov's shield restore ability AS WELL keep their present ability to protect planets. Since they d
Yeah, I just have a dislike for a theoretical 'will one day start to build something here' stopping a massive capitalship.
I think Schem brought it up before. If your ship (capital ship for example) is being pursued by another ship inside your gravity well, you can order a structure made in front of the pusuing enemy ship, and then immediately cancel construction. The point of doing this is that you mess with the pursuing ships movement, AND you don't lose a dime for doing it.
Ah, so that is why some players are using the 0% constructed as movement blockers. Easy exploit to use since they can get all their $ back when they immediately cancle construction.
Well, unfortunately we won't know. Still, I have to say our hour long (nearly) battle over my homeworld was pretty cool. The rebuilding afterwards also taught me that you get ~50% of the resources for scrapping your structures (I initially thought it was far less than that). Hmmm, anybody know if you get 100% for scrapping structures that haven't had construction started on them?
Awww, come on. There were plenty of games with alliances. Still, you did manage to make sure I wasn't going to win that one. Good one.
Uggghhh, I am still embarrassed at how Aladarian was able to assault my homeworld for what must have 30-60 minutes straight. In the end though, we effectively killed each other.
seconded!
The Pink Pony training camp should have put Schod on the AI treadmill to toughen him up a bit more In a way, it is too bad. It would have been kind of fitting to have Ruin versus Schod.
Hehe, unfortunately for the pilots, they don't pass through stuff like their ships. Even more unfortunate for the technicians who have to clean up the mess afterwards.
I just wanted to mention I liked Shadowhal's earlier suggestion about having an additional planet 'exploration' option for discovering all the phase lanes from that planet. Hmmm, maybe it could instead find additional, hard to plot phase lanes.
I could live with it being patched in at a later date
I hope they send out a notice to us. I only ordered the downloadable version and would love to have the collecter's box set.
It like the effect, it simulates an out of control ship very well.
Or you could just use the Ctrl group keys.
I get a bit upset seeing my ships firing through each other and asteroids to hit enemies. I also dislike fighters/bombers being able to fly though planets/stars to reach their targets.
Wow, look at the quality of that model.
Even with 8 tactical slots, that would be way overpowered.
It isn't that you get more fire rate or anything like that because the fighters have a long enough cooldown on their weapons to swing around for the next shot. It is just that I like to manually micro everything during battle. Basically, the tactical AI isn't all that impressive for me. Also, I wanted to say congrats on your holding off for so long against far heavier firepower. I like how you decided to preserve your fleet instead of trying to do a hopeless defense. I get t
I like the present PJI system.
