Okay, I am assuming at this point you guys already have the maps picked out. In order to prevent any unfair advantages, could you perhaps share with us which maps you plan on using? Also, how will the FFA groups be divided up? Will it be a random thing? Thanks for any info guys. This is going to be awesome. What a great idea!
Paradoxnt
Schod has a point. We still have time to test this out further in standard multiplayer games. We have a bit of time before the devs have to start production.
Well they could simply stop Dunovs from restoring shields to each other. It could be explained away that doing so fries the special Shield Restore Emitters in both Dunovs and that is why they can't restore each others shields.
Gauntlet and I played some of these maps yesterday. They were damn cool. I liked the randomness of planet types (including the new planets/bases), asteroid #s and asteroid content. His map mod does a good job of showing some of the modding that can be done with this game.
Okay, like Gauntlet said, the cat is out of the bag. I am noticing more and more players using my strategy. As for what Gauntlet is saying, believe it. We have done so many weapon/ship tactical tests now, you can trust our results. I don't think anybody has run as many tests as Gauntlet and myself (besides the dev team, of course). When fleet supply is factored in, the Dunovs CANNOT be beaten by ANY OTHER equal force (unless they are Dunovs as well). Hell, it usually requi
They really should give the drain antimatter ability to the Akkan, and the range/accuracy boost ability to the Dunov.
Or simply make it any structures laid down/queued don't give refunds when you cancel them. Still, even then, most players would happily throw away 4-5 gauss canon purchases if it saves their flagship. Additionally, queued structures should not be able to be 'healed' into existence by the Vasari repair tech.
Okay, so you guys are telling me that you don't lose resources if someone kills your queued structures? That is an insane exploit.
Look at the weapon data guys, we are only talking here about the autocannon placements on the Kol. The Kol has other weapons as well that have their own fire arcs.
I don't think any multiplayer players even bother with searching their planets for artifacts. They are far too busy trying to win the game instead.
? Why would the left and right be the same and why would the front and back be the same? Ironclad has the Kol gun placement/firepower done properly.
No solid counters??? Fighters and cobalts kick LRM ass! Unless the LRMs seriously outnumber you, they will all die. I've won quite a few multiplayer games in a row now against LRM frigate spammers.
You mean both the stars AND the gravity wells should be increased by 15%, right? I would like that as well.
Another little bug that I am 99% sure you guys are aware of. In radom maps, it seems that when the planets are too close to another systems star, it becomes difficult/impossible to see your ships when they travel to those same planets....ugh, that was a poorly structured sentence.
Yeah, LRMs are pretty good if your opponent is doing capital spam.
Hey mjl1817, that would be awesome if you can bring your clan back together. The more clans the merrier. If we can help you with info or suggestions, let us know.
I kinda like the present culture system. It does add another layer to the game.
The LRM spam rush is extremely overrated. I haven't lost a multiplayer game in a long while now and ONE of the reasons is that players rely too much on LRMs. Cobalt and fighter combos wipe the floor with them.
Some of us were serious about forming that first clan. We were nice enough to let guys like TheGreatEmperor be a part of it when he showed interest. Then we got to watch as him and certain others turned the whole clan into a joke. Now TheGreatEmperor is telling us that it was his intent from the start to ruin our clan and diminsh our SoaSE experience. You realize that makes him a bit of a jerk, right? I mean, he didn't have to help wreck our clan to do that. He could have m
Lol, that is hilarious. As I knew would happen, the Pink Ponies have imploded. Now TheGreatEmperor is all "everything that has transpired has done so according to my design" Hehe, TheGreatEmperor is now saying they never intended to be anything but a joke. Of course, if that were actually true, they wouldn't have bothered making a forum and symbol for their clan. The real reason the Pink Ponies have died out is that they
Hehe, a sith in the making.
Still having my ships sometimes not jumping into phase space and moving along at a snails pace to get to the target planet. Also, sometimes gauss turrets open fire before they have even had construction started on them. This has been happening since I've been playing the betas. It is rare, but it still happens.
I've been listening.
I've actually been trying to find out if the Pink Ponies are still alive. It isn't looking good for them so far. Unlike the Pink Ponies, the Galactic Empire has been carefully picking its membership. Every single member of our clan is likable, helpful and talented. It is far easier for us to stay motivated as a group because we fit well together. The Pink Ponies on the other hand have likely fragmented from having such a varied, chaotic membership.
Yeah, that kind of sucked having my ally start at another star (and then get booted for some reason). Then the other 3 players around my star united against me?!?! What was up with that? I managed to hold them off indefinitely until they started to quit when I would wipe out their flagships. But then the 3 (new) AI players focused on me exclusively. I just could not take another planet after that, having to run back and forth stopping them from taking me out. Hehe, still, i
