This is something I haven't seen in other strategy game (at least that I can remember). Just a little something I think would help with immersion (which is already coming along nicely). When you assign groups of ships to a quick key (aka ctrl-1 - 0) each key (1-0) when pressed could correspond to a fleet title. These titles would be race specific, so for the TEC, since they were all about trade, pressing the 1 key would result in the response "Queen's Bounty awaiting orders commander."

On ship collisions: I agree, they are unbalanced, however, they would be very cool looking. So how about this. A ship made for ramming, no guns, no shields, little hull. The crew are ready to die for the cause. Maybe they take out frigates in about one hit, but it should take a few to take down a cap ship. They should inefficient cost wise, possibly only used as a last resort in defense of a planet which has a frigate factory and can churn them out. They should die from fire easily.

As a newbie who paid for the game and wanted to have input into the beta - SORRY if our opinions dont count as much as the grand elite - fortunately i think IRONCLAD realise that ALL input is valued not just that of a self appointed elite... Wow, I am sensing some class envy here. Maybe an inferiority complex or some self esteem issues. No worries friend, your opinions and recommendations are welcome here. No need to hide behind the veil

With the upper teirs now requiring more than one Research station I believe the issue is this: Tech 1: 6 Stations will research 6 techs simultaniously (each tech using 1 station) Tech 2: Same as tech 1 Tech 3: 6 Stations will research 3 techs simultaniously (each tech using 2 stations) Tech 4: Same as tech 3 Tech 5: 6 Stations will research 2 tech simultaniously (each tech using 3 stations) etc.. So with 4 stations you could research 1 tech 3 and a tech 1

What about Nuclear Pulse Propulsion Hizaed? I think eventually we will have a probes that use this method of propulsion, probably not human piloted versions, for obvious reasons, maybe monkey piloted .

new horizen did it in in less than a year Close but not quite right. Probe was launched = January 19, 2006 Probe arrived at Jupiter = February 28th, 2007 A bit over a year, still, very impressive. The probe travels at 36,260.7373 mph once it reaches top speed, which takes some time. Acceleration of 290 Meters per second. The speed of light = 670,616,629.384 miles per hour Distance to Jupiter from Earth =

Just seeing that you posted here made me start laughing. Also, Schem is always talking about his beauty, if you saw him he might just convert you to the other side. You guys could adopt kids, who would grow up hating politics and speak 37 different languages. :

today a round trip to mars will take 2 years 6 months there 1 year wait time for earth to get back in the right place and 6 months back. however according to a former astronaght that time frame can be cut down to 5 months if we use a space train(my name) basically a ship that orbits between earth and mars doesn't land at either Exactly, this is why it should take fooorrreeevvveer to move your ships without FTL. And why movement beyond the grav

lets flame war against non-sci fi things guys Yah! Like Steven Seagal Movies! Though, a futuristic Steven Seagal mod for SINS might be cool. OR what about Walker: Texas Space Ranger, now that would be awesome.

The forum is currently under invasion, new faces and new posts are bombarding the forums, obliterating the peace generated by the careful balance between good and evil (aka The Great Emperor and Schem). As one of these (newish) invaders I would like to apologize to Emperor, Schem, Multianna, lordkosc and the rest for assisting in the destruction of what the forums once were and are no more. On the bright side though, seeing all these people will spread word of Sins and help make it

I also like the idea of lowering the cost but the efficiency should also be lowered. For example only very small mass ships should be stopped for a level 1 inhibitor -etc... I would also like to be able to move objects after I have placed them. Hell truth be told I would like to see them orbit the planet as it adds to visual surrealism which is quite high in the game so far. I like these idea's too. Lowered cost should = lower effeciency. <br

1. On what do you base the assumption that FTL-travel is impossible? We know certain ways in which FTL doesn't work, but we can't rule it out. It's perfectly valid to assume a transportation-method that allows you to arrive at a destination quicker than light could possibly. Einstein's theory as well as any other known law allow that. And that's the basic point. I think you are confusing Einstein's theory of Special Relativity with Vain's theory of

Hmmm, having anti matter power the inhibitor is a great idea. Maybe the same could be used for the shield generators (although I would prefer it if the shield generators were part of the planet). Yah that would be nifty, I like this idea. Right now I wish I could build shield emitters for my shield emitters

I think the inhibitor just needs an on/off button. And I think the phasejump immunity should only apply to scout frigates, I believe at the moment it applies to everything. In full agreement on the on/off switch, there are times when I would really like to let someone leave. The immunity from research? I dont mind that, its an end tech if they want to spend their research time and money on it at that point let them, I put my $ into weapons. O

wouldn't make a difference unless they did away with the warp lanes. It would just make things harder to see. The warp lanes could enter space at different places on the Z axis, maybe the entrance is way above the planet and the exit way below. Hrmmm... None of the races are good or bad in my opinion. Agreed, Though I think the TEC should have music that feels hopeless/hopeful since they are the u

usually becomes real I agree, but not in its ficticious form, its typically a completely different method that leads to a similar result. I don't doubt that we will figure something out. I just doubt it will be a current theory that is the breakthrough.
