Hey all, Please make sure you have the latest Diplomacy patch, there was at least one sync bug fixed in it. Also, there should be a new patch out soon which will fix a sync bug existing in all versions of Sins. Cheers https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/377774

Hi all, We've known that there's a sync bug out in the wild for quite some time now - we had occasional reports of it after Entrenchment was released, but there was never a full-on sighting, nothing that gave us a method of reproducing or good logs to suggest what the problem might be. The minidumps that result from sync bugs are usually completely useless, because crashes come from anywhere in the code when you're out of sync with your fellow players. But things seemed to

Hi folks - we are aware of this issue but haven't had much luck tracking it down yet. Can anybody who still has the problem try this out? Particularly the second part - x8Q. From Cranke at http://browser.stardock.com/post.aspx?postid=323574&get=&p= This is what I did: Through NVIDIA control panel, I disabled "Antialiasing - Gamma Correction".&n

The pathfinding itself can't be modded, but the turning speed is more physics than pathfinding. If you change the turning rate (maxAccelerationAngular) in the entity files, you'll see it turn a lot faster. You can check that out and see if it's to your liking.

Hey VarekRaith, It would be fairly easy to change this, the problem is that there are many situations where you don't want the ship to turn then move. If he is being attacked, for instance, it might be worse for your ship if he just sits and takes fire from enemies while turning around. The decision of whether a big arcing turn or a small turn-on-a-dime maneuver would be better is a complicated one that can't realistically be done for each ship. An additional probl

Hey zedizded, I'm not sure what you are referring to with Sins 1.2, we're only up to version 1.15? If you've tried everything in this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341528 (look esp at reply 10, 23, 24) And it's still not working for you, email [email protected] with your map and manifest file (if you're trying to get it into Entrenchment). Cheers</

Yah, there's an um... Map Designer I think it's called in-game? It's not the same as in Galaxy Forge where you can place planets in specific locations. You control how many of which kind of planets are where, and it generates it for you. Have a look!

Hey AzteCJesteR, 1 of 2 things is probably happening. Either you're putting it in the wrong place, or you haven't given everybody a home planet. I'm going to guess it's the first. Check reply #10 in this thread for more detailed info on where it goes. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=341528 We're going to simplify this soon so it's a lot e

Thanks krunkert, I hope that helps some others. I don't know why it would need 3.5 but it's good to know. I'll try and figure out why...

Heh. pndrev has it... we're looking into ways of making it easier. For now though: If your map is in the manifest file, you've put it in the right location, and it's still not showing up in the appropriate spot (Small,Medium,Large), open it in notepad and confirm that the version is 3. Version 2 maps will not show up no matter what you do, because they will cause a crash if you try to load them. If you've got a version 3 map that won't show

Lotek: Is it a version 3 map? (You can check by opening it in notepad) If it isn't, the game protects you from crashing by ignoring map files that are out of date. Edit (for attention): If your map is in the manifest file, you've put it in the right location, and it's still not showing up in the appropriate spot (Small,Medium,Large), open it in notepad and confirm that the version is 3. Version 2 maps will not show up no matter what you do,

LoTeK_83: Where are you looking for the maps? They don't show up under custom maps, but in with the rest of the maps of that size. "Custom" means in-game generated. It's a bit confusing, I know.

Hey sixsixone661 : sorry to hear you are having problems. The galaxy forge maps made with the new version of GF should work fine, we're just having trouble figuring out why some people can't run galaxyforge. The older maps won't work unless you convert them with Harpo's tool. Please see my post #27 in this thread

GoaFan77: I've been checking .Net version by going to the installed programs list under control panel. Keep in mind that you want the regular .Net Framework 2.0 (sp2) - not the .Net Compact Framework 2.0. They're so similarly named it's easy to think you have one when you have the other.

TechStriker: That link you posted is the .Net Compact Framework 2.0, you want the regular Framework 2.0, NOT compact. We made the same mistake here a few days ago. MasterU: There is no guarantee of which spot you start in, they're randomized unless you set the randomizeStartingPositions to false;

Yes, there should be two executables, but it's not supposed to minidump. Did you have a fresh install? ie, uninstalled vanilla sins, and deleted the directory, then reinstalled? That seems to fix most issues. If that doesn't work, please send the minidump to [email protected]? It's probably something simple.
