This is for problem 2 What I found helped was disabling the sidebar, I'm noticing that sidebars cause a lot of problems with some games. Also do you have Aero running? If so maybe try disabling it. Also try this, in the compatibility tab for the exe try disabling visual themes, desktop composition, and display scaling on high DPI settings. That might help the game run more smoothly. Other

I restarted my computer and the game ran fine after. Been playing 2 and a half hours and no black/frozen screens (love seeing the explosions on the planets ). Now that I think of it, the problem only started happening at the end of the 2nd tutorial. Vista is only using around 350 MB of my RAM right now and I can still bring it down more.

I have 1 Gig Ram in the system (dual channel) + 512 MB comes from the flash drive (Yeah the USB Key, the ReadyBoost doesn't have to be the same size ). Everything in Vista was disabled (ie. Side Bar). Hey, At times while playing, the screen will freeze for about 30 seconds, the sound will still continue, and then everything will go back to normal. At times the screen will go black instead. I have the graphics set to medium, and was playing a small galaxy with 3 opponents. Here's my Dxdiag. I also have 512 MB set as ReadyBoost if it isn't listed.
