Homeworld is the best space tactical game ever created in the history of humankind. HW:C is just more of it even if it does silly things like putting the Middle East on Hiigara, and HW2 was good too it just lacked the first's polish. HW3 is likely in development, not only because THQ bought the licence but also Relic keeps talking about its super secret project. Edit: ORB was crap, don't buy it.

By capping ships at 50% of the total fleet you wouldn't be able to build anything. Just thought I would mention that.
Traders.
While placing one refinery planet will give your almost complete coverage, planning out your refinery placement is cheaper and gives complete coverage and saves logistic slots on planets.
You can turtle. You just turtle around your important planets and not every out of the way asteroid that just happens to be closer to the border.
Its the Bentusi. The Unbound who fled there galaxy from the great destroyer used the Vasari's phase tests as an anchor to jump to the Vasari/TEC/Advent galaxy. Upon arriving there were set upon by the Vasari home-guard which sent the already shaken Bentusi into a fit of desperate rage and they proceeded to decimate the home systems. :D
You need to "research" additional crews under logistics.
The men of the fleet shielded there eyes. There pupils dilated even under the protective cover of there eye lids and arms. The light tickled the corners' of there sight. The ships turned golden under the light they desperately hid from. The sweat the men's bodies pumped out joined tears. The world slowed as they shrunk from the wavelengths. The golden light started to fade. The ships lost there glow, but were forever tanned. The men of the fleet opened there eyes. There command ship fell towards
Nerf empire labs they are imba!
They will scatter into cover if a tank round explodes near them, but yea, just moving to cover.
In CoH's Infantry and to a lesser extent tanks will search for cover when being shot at and try and stay in there most effective weapons range. This can lead to frustration for some pepole due to tanks ignoring orders when the AI decides to drive some were or infantry dancing between cover and there effective weapons range on occasion. TheOpticNerve, it would become impossible to manage simply because it would become impossible to see were everything is. The Empire Tree and Icons are ni
Pretty much you want this set up. X = Planets with extractors R = Planet with Refineries .. = blank space 'cause the forum don't like double spaces. X-R-X ..| ..X Rather then R-R-R ..| ..R Up to three Refineries will service one extractor except neutral extractors which get four. They service everything within one phase jump. You want to try and have a little overlap as possible, as cheap as possible, servicing the most planet
You still had to order the the frigates to move though. Most of the pepole here want the Victory Class Star Destroyer size frigates to wosh about the gravity well doing barrel rolls and loop de loops to doge phase missiles and auto cannon rounds. :p
SotS ships didn't move if you didn't order them to. It was actually bad to have them move about because of the Newton physics. Ships would end up flopping about and you would be unable to get them where you wanted them to be in a reasonably quick fashion.
Or rather then build defenses around a useless, unimportant, and avoidable rock you could build the defenses around your important planets? :p
Ok. First of Relic doesn't own the licensing to the Homeworld franchise but THQ does. This means that likely Homeworld 3 is coming. Relic and THQ have never had a mod pulled and I wouldn't find it surprising if they encouraged making this mod or at least not object to it. Anyway, echo-apollo kind of glossed over the races. Here is a time line for reference: http://homeworld.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline The Kushan and Hiigarans are one of the same. They were once a great empire that
If anything is like an RPG its the Advent's capital ships. You have your tank/warrior in the Radiance Battleship, your healer and debuffer in the Progenitor Mothership, your long ranged ranger with attack + auras in the Carrier, and the two Battlecruisers are your offensive debuffers and crowd control.
If you think winning is under whelming you don't take your games personally enough. ;)
Pirates ARE gay. They are very happy with there life style of pillaging for phat lootz.
Here is an idea. Phase Inhibitors work like shields. As more ships try to phase jump out/into the gravity well its situated in, the charge up/travel speed is increased. That way, small raiding parties can still pass the outer defenses, but sending a large fleet is delayed greatly, and sending them in piecemeal is a great way to get your units blow up. It also encourages players to send a small party to blow a phase inhibitor up first so there main fleet can move in more effectively.
I have had pirates merrily fly through my fleets to reach the next planet over to complete bounty, even taking massive amounts of fire and loses. I have never had them decided to stop going after some one else to shoot me.
Please don't listen to Daton. He is a troll nothing more. He finds joy in making pepole frustrated. While the races' ships and structures all have the same roles, they are very different. A Abrams and a Challenger are both main battle tanks but both are quite different machines. A Kol, a Radiance, and a Kortul all are battleships, but preform very differently.
A story line would never work in the context of the game. I keep saying this. Its stupid for a player to all of a sudden be forced from being an Emperor and instead preform the will of his admirals and advisers. Homeworld's story was great. Personally I found the campaign to be the best part. HOWEVER THIS IS NOT HOMEWORLD. Homeworld is focused on the tactical level and has the player cast as the fleet leader, not as the emperor of an intragalactic empire.
I believe planets are generated with bonus from the start and exploring them just reveals them. Some of them are horrible to get though, like Weapons Testing Facility and High Security Protocol on you dead end desert planet in Systems at War. :NOTSURE:
Basically for the TEC you want to grab a cap ship ASAP (the exp lost from militia is too valuable) and go straight to the Trade port and spam one per planet, then head to refinery if your early battles go well. But rember, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. After trade port it might be better to get some military technology or spend time fortifying your capital and other major planets. It might even be worth rushing your opponent a bit.
