You can't compare Homeworld and SoaSE. They have very different level of scale and gameplay. Homeworld is to SoaSE as Company of Heroes is to Supreme Commander.

Looks great. Battlestations: Midway was a brilliant game that's only real fault was using Gamespy, which is really nice considering it was made for consoles and PCs are the same time. So much fun sinking Kongo class battleships in Prince of Wales.
Starfighters are stupid weapons. Despite what pepole say, starfighters are hideously inefficient. Compared to a missile of similar size, they really don't have any advantages. Missiles don't need to worry about Gs, fighters do. Missiles don't require all the bits needed for a pilot so they can stuff lots of explosives or even multiple warheads plus extra fuel or even counter-countermeasures! Missiles can be mass produced, while fighters need to be built and then train a crewmen to operate and ma
They are affraid of [link="http://forums.relicnews.com/showpost.php?p=2308950&postcount=6"]this[/link].
Acutally they proberly do have mouths its just covered by there fancy costumes. If not they inject nutrients directly into there blood streams. Yummy.
The Beast / Enraged Bentusi.
Its the disciples stealing and transferring antimatter I believe, its really an annoying sound and the effect is distracting.
Some of these tests aren't done very well. Sending an equal number in cost and supply of LRMs and Disciples against each other is ignoring a big factors, time, research, and capital ships. Mostly time, arguably the most important resource.
Tha games consisted of over a dozen races, either good or bad, all struggling for control
I wouldn't say Star Control races are "evil" or "good". Just because the Ilwarth like to kill and torture things doesn't make them evil. Heck, the Ur-Quan Kzer-Ka's reasons for enslavement are actually quite noble. :p
I still don't understand why SoaSE isn't 4X. You still eXplore new planets, eXpand into said planets, eXploit the resources on planets, black market, and pirates, and eXterminate. The argument is flimsy at best. If you seriously think some one make Galactic Civilizations run real time without it collapsing into anarchy, then your kidding yourself.
I really don't want to see SoaSE turn into "Galactic Sliders: Adjusting tax rates in real time!". Not that dislike empire building games, I just have a hatred towards sliders that pepole seem to love. Does SoaSE have as much depth then Galactic Civilizations? Nope. But neither does SotS yet its a 4x game, the only features it has that SoaSE doesn't is sliders (weeeee), a very basic ship design system, and a random technology tree.
I am *expanding*! It is so much *happy* to *smell* you! Orz can *dance* very well. Orz ships have the *GO GO!*. Do you know? Do not forgot to *enjoy the sauce*!!!
Well there is a reason some of us don't play online.
There are no animations on the models, just effects. Maybe I am just being nitpicky. I fail at feeding trolls I guess.
model animation
Play the game before crying about how bad it is please.
Haeso the reason pepole hate you is because you declare your self the Leader of All that Is Right and True and demand others to stroke your e-peen endlessly till it out reaches the rest of the Leaders of There Own Form of All that Right and True.
Innociv and his "high-level" buddies count for 80% of the whining though. Have ye not heard the cry of the balance banshees? Those creatures of demon flesh and dragon bone screech forth there message of imba with the voice of hundreds of men, there calls tear the very fabric of your brain as they preform self righteous rituals for there own gain. They preach there gospel of correctness, yet banish those whom they dismiss as unworthy simply for being younger. The balance banshees are onl
The patch hasn't been out for a full day and your already moaning is my point.
OMG CHANGE RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AHHHHHHHHHHH ITS EATING MY LEG! :SNIFF!:
I've never seen this
If you jump into a gravity well with rebel (scum) they will attack you know matter who you are. They don't spawn at your planets.
The spinning Dwarven Fortress strikes Graphics in the upper body! It explodes into gore! Graphics have been struck down! Crisis fell into the graphics trap. It required a super computer from the future to run decently. Games like Dwarven Fortress and SoaSE show that games don't need to look pretty to be fun. Graphics are merely a medium to play the game with. As long as they push the point across it doesn't matter how good they look as long as it doesn't interfere with the game
I don't mind anti piracy as long as its not intrusive. People complain about Relic's method (either log onto Relic Online or have the DvD in the drive) yet I found it superior to Steam or over systems because if the servers were down I could still play and didn't install nasty things or complain for no reason. If some one breaks into your shed, you would put a lock on it. Its not really different with games, but Stardock is doing pretty well without a lock, but its hard to track these k
All realising patch notes before the patch does is create a wave of whiners that cry foul to tentative changes and declare the game is now dead because a certain unit got a slight cost increase without ever trying the patch. Just a fact of the internet. :NOTSURE:
While I am not a fan of the Kodiak I seriously doubt the models will be changed anytime soon. The TEC are about strapping guns to yachts, liners, and cargo ships. Deal with it.
SoaSE doesn't work through steam.
