Sorry, I know it says five things I want to see in "Rebellion", but there is really only one for me at the moment. I would like to be able to loan capital ships to my ally if he is getting hammered by his enemy and I'm able to spare them. The way I envision this to work is that I could bring up in a diplomatic screen a list of my capital ships by name and click a "loan to ally" button and loan it to an ally of choice. I could reserve the right to cancel the l

May I point out that in Sins YOU are the Emperor (or whatever you wish to call yourself)? As the Emperor, I won't have people in MY Empire giving ME orders about my next objectives. I'M in charge! Therefore, since any campaing done this way will in effect be a sandbox mode anyway, Sins does not need a campaign. Scenarios could work, however.

Mine is a simple request. I would like to select a portrait of my choosing for each race that I could use when I play individually instead of having to cycle throught groups of three and then selecting the portrait each time I play as a different race/faction. I would also like to make profiles that I could switch back and forth between without having to reselect my emblem, portraits, and reentering my name. I let my friend play this on my computer a few months back to con

Gamespot.com has a larger resolution of the before mentioned picture of the TEC Titan, but other than that, I have found nothing. The picture can be found here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/sins-of-a-solar-empire-rebellion/images/0/7/

As long as they are Conquest: Frontier Wars or C&C Generals quality or better, I'm perfectly happy. What I really want is great gameplay (battle tactics, story, etc). This game looks like it could be fun to play, and that's what I look for.&nb
I still say Homeworld is better than Homeworld 2, the Homeworld story (both backstory and campaign storyline) and gameplay are excellent, and I played the Homworld 2 demo but didn't like some of the changes like no more support or formations.
Of course. How could I have ever forgotten the original Homeworld?

I saw this on April 1st and figured it had to be an April Fool's joke. I decided to wait for a few days just to see if that was the case, which is why it took so long for me to respond to this. I have mixed feelings on this. However, I feel that I have reasons to be optimistic on this. For one thing, unless I read wrong, the original team in charge of Impulse is still going to be running it (I believe I read that they were moving to Dallas). However, what I a

If Sins had been made by a large company like EA or someone else it would probably be less-than-half the game it is.
It probably wouldn't have been made at all. It would have probably been deemed too risky, both in execution and profit. Bigger publishers usually seem reluctant, or even afraid, to try something different. I admit that until I played the

Just happened by the other day and saw the announcement. This game is still my favorite and I still have LAN (yes, I said LAN for those who say no one does that anymore) parties with my friends and brothers. I have bought numerous copies for friends and relatives for gifts and thus have to say I have spent more money on this game than any other. This was one of the most perfect games I have ever played out of the box. Even the Beta ran smoother than some of th

Personally, I would recommend playing the full campaign (American and Soviets together). I really think that the game is better that way and there are a few events that tie in together in both campaigns. For example, as the American/NATO forces, I played through one mission very well and was celebrating my victory. Then, on the next mission, the game switches back to the Soviets and I find out that my victory as the Americans had a tragic cost for one of the officers I serve

If I am not mistaken, if you go to the ingame menu to the option to save a game recording, there should be a box that is checked for auto record. All you should have to do is uncheck it. It is just like on the save game option where you can uncheck the option for auto saves. Let me know if you still can't find it.
Those are both great ideas. I really would like to see planetary development expanded as well. Make individual planets more valuable. The more a player is able to invest in the planets, the more valuable they become. One thing that kind of bugs me about the current system is that with the limited number of Logistics slots, it can be pretty tricky to build planets the way you want to. Since a lot of the best Logistics
I think its all been covered, but one more reply just to summarize it for anybody else who finds the thread. The retail disc has no DRM, at all. You can only pach it to 1.05. Impulse is required after that. The digital version requires Impulse. Impulse requires you to make an account, and register the game (digital copies do this automatically, retail copies come with a CD key that you use). Once it's registere

My first suggestion is just something I considered one day when one of my friends told me this game was "boring". It doesn't really affect me as I personally enjoy the pace of Sins, however, I just wondered if anyone else might agree that it could attract a lot of new players. I thought it could be a great option when starting a game if we could have an option of selecting the starting research levels. Lets say that I

While I was playing a long game of Sins the other day, I was waiting for some research to finish and just staring at my flagship sitting in front of my homeworld. Then it occurred to me: Aside from all of the ships flying around the atmosphere of the planet, I really don't get the sense that a vast population of people are supposed to exist on these worlds. I sort of regard planets in this game like I did with the globe in my high school history class long ago

I used to play it before I got a new hard drive. After I swapped out my hard drive, I never reinstalled it because I didn't want Securom to be installed on it (short of reformatting my hard drive, I don't know of any way to get Securom back off once installed). However, this sentence on one of there update announcements has brought me hope that I can once again play this game: "-Securom protection has been removed, the DVD disk is no longer required in the drive durin
I've mentioned this in another thread, but I think it's legit enough to put here too: I think it'd be awesome if there could be a tactical structure that could auto-deploy mines to a specified location for you. This structure would also have the capability of slowly replacing "used" exploded mines autonomously, but each of these structures could only maintain a certain number of mines. (10, 50, 100, whatever balances the best). <br /

I have a few thoughts regarding mines. First, I agree that mines as they are in this game just don't work as they are and need major reconsideration. I have thought long and hard about this and this is what I came up with. 1. Mines in space should not be used like today's naval minefields. It works fine for mining narrow straits and harbors in waterways on earth, but in a 3D space (even though Sins is not 3D) "traditional" mines just wouldn't work. I

The more copy protection/DRM measures that are on a game, the less likely it is that I will buy it. This does NOT mean that I will pirate it instead, for those who come onto the forum and accuse everyone of piracy for not supporting DRM. Most of the people I know agree with this stance. Online activation is where I personally draw the line. Because I already have heard the "most everyone has the Internet" argument, I point out that some people may not be
