What? Crysis wasn't built to run on rigs from 1999? Damn. :P

1. Hard to say. Depends on the types of games you play. It's somewhat faster than a 4x game (Civ.) and slower than a RTS. 2. Multiplayer is better, but I spend more time in single simply due to time constraints. Length of any game is dependent on the size of the map. Expect hours at least. 3. Yes and no. Balance is good. Depends on the race you are playing. 4. They are pretty much the same, just some stuff is earlier or later in the tree depending on the race. There are differences,
No, you're fine. You can go into your setting file and change "show intro movie" from TRUE to FALSE and never have to worry about it again. (Btw, I can't recall the exact line, but its something about the intro movie)
Yes I go through the whole thing on smaller maps. They're adding victory conditions (well, at least the ai will surrender).
No offense, but wrong place to post. Try the technical forum.
Seriously who in their right mind is letting this man make more movies? I just don't get it...
He isn't anymore. The tax loophole in the german tax code was removed and he said he is calling it quits in the movie business (though he didn't say it was because of the tax code, he never mentions that).
im starting to wonder wether they actually bother to look at the minidumps aswell , i checked mine out myself and there all memory errors from invalid calls.i think its safe to say the game has bugs that need fixing.i know im not the only one who crashes after a long time nearly everyone you talk to in a game online will say they get the same crashes with minidumps
Of course they look at the dumps. That's how they figure out what's going on. In fact, they practically beg
Rufus is certainly taking a lot of Flak for this thread.I guess he got his wish.
Haha. Nice. I call for modding. I will look into this tomorrow and (attempt to) create a super flak destroyer for you.
So, how's the auto focus fire being set to false worked out? I mean, I'm sure it looks better in game, but does it drastically change the way battle play out?
I upped the AA in game to 4x and that seems to have helped a little, though the white particles are still on the edges of most everything. I'm still convinced this is a driver issue. No more crashes. Fix worked. Nvm, turning cinematic view on then off again fixed it. Weird. I wonder how it got stuck there. I'll update on here when a new driver comes out from Nvidia. Well, one that gets rid of the white junk. I'm not reinstalling vista, I just installed it two days ago.
I enabled triple buffering, but still had the white particles. I'm still thinking this is a driver issue. In other news, the game now crashes when I start a new game. Installed the fix in the tech faq, restarting now. If it still crashes I'll send the dump to support.
Okay, I'll give that a go tomorrow. Thanks.
Windows update. And yes, it's free. Chances are you already have it installed.
And then? I still can't edit the values because when I open it up in notepad, there aren't lines, its all jumbled together and I can't find the designated values.
Try WordPad instead. If it is still all jumbled, click on Format in either of the two and make sure Word Wrap is checked.
The pause/break button.
See the white junk on the edges of my Cap Ship factory? Granted, when I went to take the screenshot there was a lot less of it than last night for some reason. Maybe I'll play it again and they'll be gone. Like magic.
I say get a 30" monitor. I prefer the huge screen to having two. Especially when playing a fps. Keep in mind, I don't do video editing or anything, so I don't have a reason to get two monitors.
True... it took me nearly 700 hours of game play before I would even consider going up against a xenon fleet...and at nearly 2000 hours of game play I only have 14 capital ships and a couple hundred fighters… but I feel like I’ve earned every bit of that
I'm assuming you're talking about X3 here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX6bzq3M4M4 - Colossus cutscene. Just thought I'd post it >_> For lo
Well, 1.03 will definitely help, I think, but the ai fleets are pretty cowardly. Just be aware that sometimes when they flee, they flee to your planets and start attacking while you're leveling their planets.
Eh, I wouldn't go so far as Pandos about the ram. You really should have a gig instead of 512. That upgrade will cost you less than the game itself. Your specs are pretty much on the low end, so try turning all the pretties down. Edit: Just recently. What does that mean? It was working fine before? If so, have you changed anything? Did you install or uninstall something?
Well, I just installed Vista 64 yesterday and when I loaded up Sins everything played just fine, but there was white artifacting* around the edges of ships, planets and debris. I played a full game for three hours or so and never had a crash or a hiccup except for this. I'm guessing it's a driver thing. And no, I'm certain it isn't heat related. Specs: Athlon X2 5600+ 2.8ghz Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe 4gb Mushkin DDR2 800 EVGA 8800GTS 640mb Driver: ForceWare 169.
Very cool, thank you.
Interesting little article there. Thanks!
Yeah, I'd save some on the monitor. The difference btwn 2ms and 5 ms isn't really worth the extra $. Kudos on the psu. PC Power & Cooling are the best. 4gb of ram is fine, though I'd get something with better latency. (Like [link="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146726"]this[/link]) X-fi all the way.
I totally read this backwards. I was thinking you were saying that Sins should be these things. Hence the confusion.
