Out of curiosity, why is turtling considered a "valid tactic" ? Can you win the game any other way than killing your opponent?
Cause you can sit back and build a nice defense, then build up a strike force and then kick some butt. That's the general idea.
people like myself , multianna , samrec , annatar and other beta testers are gentle, don't be afraid
Don't listen!! It's a trap!! :P
I hear ya...i have a XPS 720 Quad-core nVidia 8800 GT and it still crashes quit often. i usually run music in the background but it shouldn't do that this much. I need to rmeember to save every five minutes or else. This a glitch? Fixing anytime soon or did this last patch today fix it? Thanks.
Honestly, that could be a dell issue. First off, what program are you running in the background? Something like winamp can use up t
Well, there isn't a temperature file per se. Your best bet is to download Everest. The free version will be fine. It'll show you your cpu and gpu temps. Those are the two most important. Unfortunately, you can't check it in game, but when it crashes, take note of the temps. (If you are getting 80+ on the gpu, you're frying your video card; CPUs shouldn't be in the 50s) A quick way of checking to see if you are having heat issues, is to simply take off the door to your pc. If things work
Did you restart the computer before loading it back up? Are you aware of the temps inside your computer? Are your video drivers up to date? Sound drivers? Have you defragged your hard drive? Run a reg cleaner like ccleaner? What are your specs? The list goes on.
Great reviews. I'm finding it hard to believe that everyone really is so in love with this game. And I mean that in the sense that that rarely happens. Man oh man, this really has me stoked for the long future of Sins. Great job guys!
I'd just wait for the mod tools. Less likely to cause issues with the rest of the game, especially in terms of multiplayer. Plus, in most games, if you change the ini file(s), you have to start a new mission/campaign/map for it to take effect.
i predict gamespot to give this game an 8.0 or below. they wont give it anything higher because of the lack of advertising money and advertising pressure. look at how they have a new c&c or tiberium preview every other week. They gave some my favorite games, Psychonauts, Take Command Manassas, and Gal Civ 2, good reviews despite minimal advertising or initial interest

The Pause/Break button is your friend. Pause the game and spend some time looking at reqs. for building things and the different paths on the tech trees.
Split your forces while still developing more ships. One force on multiple fronts is never gonna work. They're gonna keep doing what they're doing. Is it possible for you to give something up (say, an asteroid) to have a better defensive advantage. And then build your stuff up more and strike hard.
Nice. You know they're supposed to be making a movie of the book. Supposed to. We'll see if it gets done.
^^^ What he said, but keep in mind that the upgraded armor and weapons for the light frigates plays into it. Having them maxed out (along with health and regen) helps a bunch. But really, the answer to this game is diversity. It isn't quite a rock, paper, scissors setup, but the idea applies.
