THEY have to research the "give resources" tech before you can demand any...though oddly enough THEY can demand that you attack someones tactical structures before you even know where that AI's planets are (well, on really large maps), or have the ability to do so. heh

Works fine for me. Do you have mods running? Also, if you toggle deepspace when your colored is still on it is had to see a change sometimes. I just play with deepspace, but they are both working in my Diplo 1.00

I used to, more often than not, play a mellow game...yeah, against easy AIs. It was relaxing, now, even against easy, I have to actually be awake to play. I am liking the new high-difficulty "cheating" AIs though. That was the other end of the spectrum, when I DID want to play and went against Hards...it was kinda snoozy. All in all, I like it.

The Vasari hanger has an upgrade that traps SC in phase space for a bit. After they come back out they might have lost their order-que, so they act as they would if you had just parked them at the point where they phased out and then let THEM shoot what they wanted.

I just found this out too. I wonder if you can prevent them from asking YOU for money by not researching that tech...hmm. Either way, I an not really a fan of their missions. I generally play mellow turtling games and am not so good at "Kill 10 Tactical Structures in 10 Mins"...so, I let the mission time lapse and make up for it with Envoys and monitary lovin'.

All this complaining, I guess Impulse really does keep the pirates at bay :) I do not use Impulse because I do not trust Microsoft and its IE7, but I think Impulse is a brilliant program and great new way to piss off pirates. Hell, I say make patches unavailable and have a program like Impulse that actually edits the core files once a week, even if it is small 8b segments that take 2 seconds on the slowest connection (and do it in the background during game startup). I have this issue aswell. I am running NVidia cards. They have no issues with the game (Highest or lowest setting, few to many ships), but once that text pops up everything grinds to a halt. I look forward to seeing a fix for this silly little bug. :)

I am only looking to make some solar systems but I can not get GalForge to start. I get a shorp pause then an annoying window asking if I want to send microsoft my soul an error report. @Newplayer--You can start your own threads...this one is about Drone Hosts. @OP--Flak is still quite powerful. The squads keep coming back but they are not at 100%. If you have flak and ignore the carriers they are only sending a few actual fighters at you (though it does show a squadron icon), meaning lower DPS. I am sure someone else can post the DPS of a light frig and of a fighter to better illustrate what you are facing when it is only 1-3 fighters.

Heh, I actually DO want missions requests and breakable alliances though...otherwise I would just lock the teams. I guess there would have to be a fix that makes donations and 'acts of kindness' count FOR you in their eyes...THEN have the crazy mod I proposed...sans player given missions :( Thank you for the info so far...I do hope someone takes an interest in this neat, is poorly implemented, diplomacy system.

Hello there I have done a few searches and can not seem to find a mod that disables the 'missions' that the AI gives you. If there is one could you point me to it? If not...some ideas: -On/Off switch --The ability to turn missions on and off -Lax/Normal/Harsh penalties/gains --Lax: 5% loss on any failed mission (static value) --Harsh: 10% gain on any fulfilled mission (again, static) --

I am looking to install the latest patch for Sins and was told to install some Impulse program. When I tried it told me I needed IE7...I will not have IE7 on my computer. What is the work around on this problem. note: I am not going to install IE7 just to update my game if that is how it has to be. Thank you for any help or ideas that you can present. :)
