I say waiting for the 1.1 patch which helps with the issue of users who do not have the knowledge / ability to port foward is a better option. :)

A friend had a similar problem today. No idea what was causing it.
I think we may see something along the lines of a ladder / automatch when the common multiplayer platform gets finished in the near future. We know for certain that Demigod will have it (well at the very least it should) so I'm sure Sins will have something similar.
Ironclad Games is composed of 9 people, in total.
I knew Ironclad was small, but not this small. They certainly have some real talent in there. I bet they are growing now after the success of Sins though.
According to the 1.1 changelog:
-Major upgrade to the rendering and texture systems that allows the game to look even better on less powerful machines. -18 completely redone and touched up meshes. -Dozens completely redone and touched up mesh textures. -Lots of new explosion effects and textures. -A variety of minor 2d texture upgrades and/or replacements. -New ship shader with colorsample.a swapped with datasample.r (Team and specular have reversed posit
Download Bailknight's mod. It fixes this exact complaint. Lets hope Ironclad can match his effort with 1.1. :D
Welcome Klash! Hope you enjoy the forums here.
Thanks for dropping in! You never know, those peaceful/humanitarian options may very well make their way into a future game.
More expanded 4X elements (combined with more expanded RTS elements) within Sins can only be a good thing. :D
Also, be sure to click the button at the top of the empire tree that stacks frigates into a single tile (by default it stacks frigates in groups of 10). This helps reduce the overall size. Additionally, if you are able, increasing the screen resolution will allow you to fit more of the empire tree onto the screen and it helps avoid the "jumping".
I agree, the soundtrack for Sins is pretty good. Battle 12 (the filename of the song in the Sins directory) is my favourite.
You may need to run dxdiag and turn your "hardware acceleration" down to a level that makes the "popping" stop. This seems to be an issue with x-fi cards in many games these days...the x-fi cards are a huge waste of money.....in my opinion
Its worth it to get true hardware accelerated sound and to give the CPU one less task to do. They aren't even as expensive anymore.
Doesn't the Attack Move command do this job already?
Welcome to today's world Jixra. The world of the lazy user. :P
That graphics card is (to put it bluntly) is hideously old. I wouldn't really recommend running the game with it as you would struggle to get the game going in a playable form.
I've got an X-fi XtremeGamer card and I've noticed no problems. What driver are you using?
It was fixed in the latest patch as of writing (as far as I know - I haven't had it occur to me since the latest patch). Have you updated to the latest version of Sins and tried seeing if the problem still exists?
You're all wasting your time theorycrafting. Wait until we've actually played the damn thing. :)
I honestly don't know what you're talking about. There is NO DRM in Sins at all. The only thing involved is registering your serial and thats not a form of DRM, thats called providing a proof of purchase to Stardock so you can use their (quite generous) services such as downloading the game whenever you want and getting all the free updates you could ever possibly need. Please clarify your argument because it looks like you didn't link to the thread you wished to reference to. :)
For XP: Go to Control Panel > Network Connections There should be an entry under LAN or High-Speed Internet (usually labelled Local Area Connection or something similar). You can tell which one because it will also sport the name of your network card / device. Simply left-click it, and the information should be displayed in the information bar on the left of the Network Connections window. :)
There is a difference between strategy and tactics. Strategy is a plan implemented over a long period of time, while tactics is the opposite and involves decisions made on the spot. Sins should really consist of a mix of both (mainly because of the importance fleet battles serve within the game). Sins has a great array of strategy and thats all fine and good. There's alot to consider in regards to one's strategy that people have bought up in this thread (almost all examples mentioned in
Other than that I've had no issues personally (the only thing that annoys me in WoW is the Alliance to Horde ratio - they should force it to be as close to 1:1 as possible to keep things fair). Why? I can see that being a good thing on PvP servers but on everything else its kinda dumb...
Because it completely defeats the point of any of the outdoor PvP areas Blizzard tried to introduce to the game. That and it just makes it hard to do dungeons as Horde when every second pe

Here's the [link="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en"]WWW Link[/link] to the latest version of the Microsoft .Net framework. There are older versions too but I see no reason for anyone not to use the latest version.
The guy makes a point. Combat in Sins is largely based on your economic prowess and unit combination. There is little room for actual tactics during a battle and for the player to make any real difference to the outcome.
My brother got his gold and items stolen and the GMs weren't exactly efficient in getting it back. But I'd imagine thats no easy task (the server logs must be huge). Other than that I've had no issues personally (the only thing that annoys me in WoW is the Alliance to Horde ratio - they should force it to be as close to 1:1 as possible to keep things fair).
I'd rather the update stay only on Impulse. Don't want to make it easy for the pirates to get benefits that us paying customers have effectively provided. Besides it also means quicker patch testing which means patches come even sooner once they are done. :)
I can understand Sins moving to impulse, it will allowing for constant micro-patching which is a good thing, and impulse does sounds like a good idea, but 1.1 is not a micro-patch and i do not have reliable internet at h
