As much as I love fwoophuggle, that wasn't my meaning. It's the e-peen stroking shat that I hate.

This entire thread is the main reason why I lose interest in rts's. It's the whole number crunching, my unit is better than your unit thing I'm just not a fan of.
you don't think the devs can balance their own game? I might wait for a few more patches before I say that, but that's just me. I will agree that frigs need to be a tad bit weaker, or cap ships need to be buffed. I just don't know how I feel when my cap ship o death can't kill something with all his weapons in one go.
Eh, I'm sure that during combat, it won't make them worse since every bit of damage helps. It's only after that, when you want to move your fleet around that you have problems. Either you can move some because they never changed modes, or some don't move because they haven't changed back...or you get a little of both.
I'm not sure if it's even a matter of playing them effectively, this is just way too super micro dependent for the game, and it completely destroys not only a strength for the ship, but the smallest amount of fun I have while playing them. I understand that we are going to see smarter AI when it comes to using abilities, and that may fix the problem, but I'm not sure why we couldn't have the feature where if I turn the ability on while selecting all the ships, they all turn on. <br/
sigh, bump.
Really like the Vasari, but I've just had a ton of problems playing with them. I'm sure that my problem has an easy answer, so here it goes. The assailant has that charged missile ability, which toggles on and off. While it's on, they don't move, but have the range bonus...problem is, I always have ships that are different than the rest. At first I left it to the comp to toggle, but like most of the abilities, it sucks at using it. So, I try my best to toggle it when needed, but I
do we have a date for this yet?
ahh, alrighty. Thanks for the info
I have a problem with my fleets whenever I order them to hold their position instead of flying out to engage the enemy. When I first warp in, they do just sit there, like they're supposed to, it's once I order them to attack something, once they kill it, they all fly back to the original spot they were in. Or I will have them attack something, and realize that they will try to return, so I'll just have them attack something else right after the first target goes down...and the same thing
ooh, is that a ban?
Follow what the tutorials said? get some resources, make a small fleet, go kill stuff.
Really man, check to make sure you're playing Sins...cuz dang. Just dang.
At first I could only play the Advent, there was just something about them (probably the lasers, and the fact that you could see the beams even when zoomed out) that put them over the top. As I continued to play the game though, I really started digging the Vasari, and that's who I'm trying to get a real strat down with. I couldn't stand their ships at first, but they grew on me. The phase missiles and lanes are pretty nice too. I haven't ever gotten to the dark armada yet, so I have no
It just seems to me that a lot of their ships, (the lrm, subverter, and overseer) look a tad bit like bugs. The missle boat does the most, with a kind of rounded top, and the subverter has little feelers on the front. Are the vasari supposed to have any real theme at all?
Welp, I think that the new patch is kill the cat'n'mouse game, so we may not need one. It would be kinda cool though.
Was fighting for the enemies home planet with a pretty average Unity fleet. Things are going well, no real enemies around until bam! a TEC force three times my size zips in. Three cap ships, with the rest being the usual light frig spam. I lose everything but 5-ish illums and my two cap ships, but the light show was amazing. 30 Illums, and 4 guardians doing to main work...it made me fall in love with the Unity again.
I hope they fix the slow down with coloured text bug otherwise ill be most displeased with my purchase , can turn all out unplayable in big battles when the text pops up! Would anyone explain that to me, I haven't had it happen yet.
Actually Astax, the boom/crash thing is coming in the new patch...looking back, I probably could've made that a little more clear.
Innociv was talking about the crystal rush too. I was thinking that "The open market for buying and selling of resources has been altered so that there are random fluctuations in pricing and can crash or boom based on player behavior." thing might help with that.
3) The open market for buying and selling of resources has been altered so that there are random fluctuations in pricing and can crash or boom based on player behavior. The patch stuff may help change that.
Good, the improved AI should lead to a great fight that doesn't start the game of tag. And the improved autocast should help out a ton. I can't wait!
Exactly. And with the battleship gone, it would open a new slot for a marauder like vessel. Another ship that could have more abilities to help support the fleet.
For the comments on a heavier hitting force, what if that's where the DA came in. They would be this strong force needed. As for a small fast group attacking the Vasari? Then it would be a battle on which fast fleet could use their abilities, and movement the best. It would really be a close call.
I really think that the little bit of story we’ve been given so far hints that the Vasari are more of a guerilla force, and while we can see that in some of the cruisers and frigates, some of the cap ships need to be changed. The main offender in my mind is the Battleship, which is exactly the opposite of what the Vasari need. It is built for a knock down, drag out fight, which I really think the rest of the force isn’t made for. The battleship is some big clunky bruiser, which just doesn
