I'm really hoping for a more aggressive in general. I understand that most people just say "well, now I get to bomb the planet", but it just turns the game from a grand space battle to a game of wuss tag.

Kinda nit-picking, but I really thought that all the races heavy cruisers had different weapons than the rest of the fleet. The Advent use plasma, which only some other cap ships use. The Vasari have that weird wave beam thing, once again only other caps use. I think only the TEC Kodiak uses the same weapons that the flak and some other ships use. I think that might be for the best though, as it kinda keeps players from spamming them as easy. Other than that, I think
Sins in an intersting game...one that despite some flaws, I'm in love with. Still, there is one main issue I'm trying to deal with, the speed of combat. I don't have a problem with the main game, it's a little slow, but I'm ok with that. It's when I get into combat that I realize I don't have enough time to do what i need to do, and the entire thing just isn't what I imagine space fights to be like. Sins has always said that this game isn't a click fest, and that you have plenty o
I have always got the credits, but never one of the resources. Lowering them would suck.
The vasari is the one race I haven't gotten around to playing yet. Do any other ships have abilities that could help out?
Thanks, but I'm really looking more for an offensive force, rather than defensive.
I'm interested in what y'all have to say about what race has the best carriers, and abilities that help fighers/bombers out.
"there isn't much that 70 kodiaks can't kill" I would hope that that's true for most ships.... As for me, I rarely field more than ten or so, simple because I don't feel like they're worth it. I can never keep them in the front for combat....and they're fugly, so I always hear the Advent laughing at me whenever we fight.
I had a feeling that the enemy was never attacking each other, so I switched the settings over the locked teams. You still have the ffa, but they can't gain up on you, and they will eliminate themselves from the game. As for the phase jumping thing, all I know is that it's annoying.
I do feel that there needs to be more ships...and if that means another class, I guess I'm down with that. I've always been in love with BFG, and how you can have a basic model, but have minor tweaks to make it perform vastly different roles.
"Use lots of ships" seems to be a pretty good strat.
I see the reference to U.S. fleets in the pacific a lot, and I'm really digging it. I've had the thought that that's how space combat should be...at least from the TEC standpoint, for a long time. I'm glad to see that carriers are playing a major part. On the same note, does anyone think that carriers should have 2 squads instead of 1? It looks like most of the mods change that....maybe we could get that included in the patch?
Yeah, I was reading some of the abilities in the game, and one of the Dunov's scares me. It's call Magnetize, and it says it makes all the fighters crash into the enemy ship. Does it take mine and crash them into it, or just the enemies? I guess I could see some synergy with that, and the Sova's quick rebuild ability, but still...it would kinda suck to blow up all my fighters.
I'm really looking forward to playing this with my lan group soon. I'll admit, the game does have some flaws, but I'm really digging the length and strategy of it all.
I just switched over to the TEC from the Advent, and am still trying to get used to it. I'm a fan of going heavy on the LRM's and carriers for frigs, and the Sova/Kol for my main cap ship choices. The little robot ships do work wonders and I have a ton of them, but I have a few problems with the Kodiaks. First, they never seem to jump to the front of my fleet, but rather float around the edges....is there some way to get them to stop doing that? Secondly, they're ugly. So ugly that I h
is anyone going to allow anyone to download that wonderful new garda ship. It looks amazing.
The group of traders and their frigate escorts never knew what hit them. They didn't even have time to react as hundreds of lights silently sliced through armor like scalpels through skin. Rezzial smiled under his mask as the thought how fitting his first contact with the enemy had been. His fleet slid onwards, towards home.
I just lol'ed a little.
I can't say I'd like a single player campaign. I need formations or a little smarter ship movement in general.
Allrighty, thanks for the help. Looks like I get to patch up to 1.2. Thanks again.
I go to the options menu, but there is no Mod tab. All the others ones like sound and vid options are there, but not the mods tab. I haven't downloaded the new patch, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, and I don't know if I need to download anything else to see the mod tab. Any help? Edit. Saw that I needed to patch up to see it....
Just throwing this out there, but do you have the soundcard or speakers put in? They hype on that and making sure all your drivers are up to date.
And when I said I made the mods folder...I just went to the program file for the game, where all the other little folders hang out, and just put it there. I have a feeling that isn't where it goes
Well, the mod is in there correctly as far as I can tell, although there wasn't a mod folder until I made one a second ago...but when I go to the options menu in game, I still get nothing.
So, I went and downloaded a wonderful looking mod (the mars effect), and after looking to see where it went and putting it there, I thought I would be good to go. Only I'm not. I start up the game and go to the options menu to get the mod going....only there isn't a tab for mods. In fact, I can't for the life of me find it anywhere in there. Just for the record, I put it into C:\Documents and settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad
