Couldn't you just bombard a few planets that are connected to each other via phase lanes, wait until the culture fades away and then colonize? You can be busy bombarding the rest of the worlds while their culture disappears. Can you look for dead asteroids as don't you get these under your control once you wipe out the ai's tactical structures regardless of culture? My first game lasted way too long as I was waiting to take contol of the worlds by following some sort of path

and i think the max is five, but you cant have a program running on two comps at the same time I am currently running the game on two computers at this time and I am not having any problems. I transfer a saved game file between them.

I was curious to see if the bounty on my empire reduced when I colonized the last planet of the empire I believe put the most bounty on my empire. It did not appear to do so. This I thought might be a good addition to the bounty system. Right now bounties are entertaining, but you really only have one option. If you want to reduce the incentive other groups have in attacking you your only choice is to increase the bounty on another empire. This provides the player with only one op

You can click the arrow beside the planet icon on the left side of your screen. This will give you a breakdown on all your ships at that planet. Then you can pick one ship at a time without viewing the mix of ships in the gravity well. If you had multiple of the type of ship you want and only want one, you may opt not to "stack" ships of the same type. That way you would see each one of your ships on the left of your screen. This option is found on the top of the left side of your s

The game can be downloaded to more than one computer. I currently have it on my laptop and my home computer. I did not need to pay twice for the download. You can swap saved games between the different computers. So if you lost the program you could just reinstall Stardock and redownload. THe only thing you might lose is your saved games unless you back up your games on a jump drive or on a cd. Stardock is ofcourse protected by your honor. I hope that helps

3) Managing my empire in the middle and late part of the games took so much time that I rarely watched the battles. Over 95% of my time was spent zoomed out clicking and placing icons. Here, Homeworld had a far superior feel. In that game, I watched and participated in almost every battle. With Sins, I sent in my fleets and returned to managing, checking occasionally on the progress of the battle by clicking the system and looking at the colored unit bars. What's the p

Thanks Kyro, if I can find the auto save I will email it as I beleive the ai had colonized it to a pop of 20 before I got there. I could be mistaken though since it was my first game.

Thanks, I am going to have to digest this but it appears from your reply that the relative strength of the players navy is not taken into account but the pirate attacks do become more intense due to elapsed time. hmmmmm.

I am playing my first game and pirates are now attacking with 2 dozen plus ships. I have never placed a bounty on any of the ai but will as soon as I can get back to the game to see if this will divert the pirates away from my empire. My question is, is it just bounty that determines how frequently and how intense the pirate attack is? Or is the fact they are attacking with so many ships and so frequently now based on my relative strenght? I easily have the largest navy in the game

It was occupied by the enemy with a population of 20. I think I still have some tactical slots available, but no population. Is it possible I killed it in the bombardment?

8 Replies 21,382 Views

Okay, I have nuked the enemy planet, all population and infrastructure is gone. It is a dead asteroid. I do not seem to be able to colonize or do anything with it. It shows it is my planet. I rebuilt the infrastructure to 100%. My blue line has reached it. I have attempted to colonize and can not. There is no enemy ship or allie in the system, just my ships. Is there a certain amount of loyalty or culture I need? If so how much? Can it be recolonized somehow or when do the peop

It would be useful if when attacked by Pirates the announcer indicated it was pirates. Something imaginative like "we are being attacked by pirates" That way the player could tell right from the gitgo if he/she was being pestered by pirates or attacked by the ai. I would think the player's response may be different enough to warrant considering adding the additional radio chatter.

I think the tuts could be expended a tad, but saying that they don't teach you anything is a bit far fetched, they aren't bad tuts, Oh c'mon be original and make your own strategies. If your forced to copy other peoples ideas maybe you should stick to big galaxies and hide in a corner. eetmorsqrls you have swayed me to your proposal. These last two posts have proven your argument. Did you bribe them?<b

How about a specific thread for new players to ask questions and/or get advice on strategy? Multianna's videos are still the best training and advertising for the game so far.

The problem I found was after entering all information, credit card and all that and then it went to the "Cart" screen where it shows my one copy of this game waiting to be bought, there is a order now button in green. I press that and the screen goes to "Processing Order" then it comes up with a ASP net error in ordering, I had a similar problem when I attempted to download the game to a second computer. I attempted to download a second time and a pop

The workers are protected due to their occupation of thick cubicle walls, typically located in the basements of office buildings and far away from windows which are at a premium. The administration occupy almost totally glass encased offices on the top floors of the highest buildings making them easy kills. They melt like plastic army men. While some of the workers do die in the bombardment, without the administrative cast creativity and productivity increase to offset the contributio

lol, how do you nuke a planet from all sides and only kill the admins? I have observed that people in administrative positions are generally less hardy than the working folk. The game simply demonstrates this general rule of nature. Or as Christopher Walken once said "Blue blood tires quickly"

Gentlemen, Would an alarm be better? Set the alarm to go off after so many hours of play or at a certain time. That way you would not forget to eat or sleep, since failure to do either could negatively impact your game play and ultimately trigger you reaching your mortality frontier. An alarm vs a clock would also not impact the "suspension of belief" during game play by constantly reminding you of everything else you are supposed to be doing instead of playing the game, wh

Gentlemen, Moo2 had assault shuttles that were alot of fun. These could be used to board an enemy ship to attempt to takeover or damage the ship. They were an alternative to fighters and in SOASE could be brought to battle by carriers or be used by a planetary defense hangar. If successful the boarding party could damgage the ship or take it over, or it could be scuttled by its own crew and explode. If successfully taken over it could be scrapped or perhaps become part of the

Gentlemen, Can this game be played on two computers? I have a home computer that should play the game satisfactory, but I travel alot and sometimes have downtimes at work and would like to play the game with my laptop also. Is this possible? If so, other than downloading Stardock Central on my laptop, what else would I need to do? Is it possible to swap saved game files between computers? Thank you
