You know... No matter where you go, you find more people who like Blizzard than dislike it. Even on EA Forums. Funny, isn't it? I myself, am a big Blizzard fan. But I only recently bought their games, I hate WoW and I think the online StarCraft platform sucks totally. But hey, it's seriously outdated, what do you expect? There's one thing I don't like... speculation. Wait for the game to come out and either pirate it (for trial purposes only!) or get the demo.

You could also draw comparison to the Universe at War Novus Network, their buildings power-down if you destroy the linking "towers" too, but their units can "flow" through the network to effectively "teleport" (although slower) around the map. I played Perimeter, but never really got it. I didn't like how the "power relays" gave such a small area of land. At the end of the day, you can draw comparisons of game features to many other games but the execution is what counts, not t

Hehe, missed the sticky. Firstly, at your SupCom comment. There were even picture diagrams for each map, telling you where to build first and the exact queue to get an optimum start. *sigh*... but after about 5 minutes, the differences really count. In Sins it's right from the start. (I used to go straight for population upgrade, but since it's already there now, I don't!) I love the Vasari, they seem to be much more milita

Firstly, I've stated what I like in another thread. So here are my concerns. Why culture? Yes, stopping the enemy from colonizing your planets and conquering their planets without a single shot being fired is great, but at what cost? And should you be spending it on more ships? Personally, I feel like Culture is important but not important enough yet. It's just another thing to get, but not something which feels like a vital strategic decision. Why is this? Should it b

Sure! (firstly, I created a thread which details all the thing I LIKE about Sins. I'll do one about my ideas for improvement soon!) Connection lines are mainly to put an element of strategy into base expansion. Your primary base (HQ or Homeworld?) is the sole supplier of energy (power) which is required to power all of your bases and base defences. Because the resources are spread over the map, you need to transfer the energy to across the map to your newly constructed Resource

I see Sins of a Solar Empire as being kind of like... Supreme Commander meets Homeworld. Is this a good thing? YES! Supreme Commander is a fantastic game, due to the pure scale and strategy involved in the gameplay. Only problem is, most people don't have the PC to run it! Sins has the benefits, without the pitfalls. Sins runs like a total dream on my PC, with all the depth of strategy and scale of Supreme Commander. (and the handly camera!) Homeworld is also

Let me just point something out, for those of you who think I was "talking negatively" about Sins. Although I really do like the game and play beta 4 often.
I've just played an 8 hour game (I went away often.) of Sins and it's not all that fun at the moment, but it's really early beta, so I'm just waiting to see what's next. It's more fun than beta 1!!
Quick, simple comment. Enthusiastic about the improvements in beta 2.

Blair, I'm incredibly sorry that you seem insulted. This wasn't my intent at all and I love Sins! I wouldn't have purchased it if I didn't! Fact was, beta 1 and 2 weren't fun. And I doubt SunAge was fun at that stage either. However, I have an awful lot of decent things to say about Sins and I apologise for not saying them. The reason why I added that to my post was purely because I'd devoted my entire day to playtesting Sins and wanted to state it. It was really more a comment

Just figured you guys would be interested in knowing that SunAge has gone gold and we copies of the game are being distributed to retailers in the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux and Italy! People in other countries unfortunately will have to wait until Q1 2008... unless... you have the game shipped overseas or... buy SunAge online! They also released a trailer! See the bottom of this message for details! Source - [link="http://www.lighthouse-interactive.com/index.php?nid=259&main=arc

Repetitive? Hmm... I find there is enough difference in this game for it to be pretty different each time you play. Vary the maps, vary who you play, keep it fresh, try new capital-ships, different research branches. However, the game can get pretty dull sometimes, mainly due to the fact that currently it's not so fine-tuned meaning there are points where all the action seems to grind to a halt for too long. But, I've noticed massive improvements with each new

Has anyone considered how annoying it would be to find your capital-ship-in-construction stuck at ~90% slowly working it's way up with the message, "insufficient resources" flashing on your screen?

It shouldn't be unworkable though, Sins needs to be plenty more moddable by release, imo. With some decent scripting like LUA.

Awesome! I had no idea! Well that's perfect for people who want to buy SunAge when they live in an obscure location (in the middle of nowhere!) like me!

I think Politics and Religeon should be banned from forums in which it's not relevant. My personal view is irrelivant as these kind of conversations never end in a resolution. And why is this a thread about homosexuality all of a sudden? Since when is it not a persons choice to do as they wish, and as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, then so be it. You all should brush up on your Human Rights. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 align="absmidd

There's a confirmation code to register? Meh, stuff like that never bothers me. I always give my gmail account and I get the e-mail instantly. I really disagree with people who think SunAge isn't breaking new ground, because it is. Just because it's not flinging some buzz-words at you like "New Dual-Wielding System! Use TWO guns at once!" (eg Halo 2) which doesn't actually make the game any more fun, doesn't mean it's not "groundbreaking". Refining old ideas, combining

Please check back the site next week for an update." - Julio Gorgé Also, I found out that SunAge doesn't use pixel shaders, so most cards should run it just fine. There are very few PCs around that will not be able to run SunAge. Infact, if your PC is running Windows XP, I can pretty much guarantee th

Well I believe that one of the new things it offers to RTS is that almost every single unit has an " alternate mode ", allowing it to switch out it's weaponry or function mid-game. This allows people more flexability when attempting to counter strategies. Another this it offers is a new way of treating resources and tech , instead of just upgrading your main HQ and building the right buildings to get the newer tech, you need to secure the primary resource needed to produce th

Suddenly, using portal technology, an alien race appears on Earth with an unknown purpose. The official site: www.sunage-the-game.com Check out this screenshot
