Why are you people so stuck on the naval terms, different navies have had different terms you know. Yes i know that it's strange, but i simply can't accept that destroyer will win over a crusier. Arghhhhh... for me this is important. For You isn't. Devs will decide.

How do you want to make them weaker? Remove the one squadron from the carrier? Degrade the heavy frigate to a light frigate? Remove the repair ability from the Hoshiko? Flak/Missile Defense/Scouting... these are the general abilities of an escort Destroyer, and yes we put these in one package in real life, so why not in fake life? At any rate I wouldn't give it all 3 abillities, I would give it 2. Think of it as a super heavy scout ship. It wouldn't make scouts obsolete as they are just so cheap, and the Destroyer would be far down the tech tree, but it would be useful to scout systems by a fleet as a whole. OR don't have its stregnth

exactly. have it cost some time and ressources to designate a flagship - and only one at a time - and its more flexible and forgiving.
