When I save my singleplayer game, overwriting a previous one, the re-load of said savegame fails: I get a black screen, the game freezes, and an error report gets sent out (once I manually shut things down, that is). It seems that overwrites corrupt save files.

I agree with the OP and would prefer to see the following: 1. Dramatically increase the cost to build a Titan vessel. More credits, more ore, more crystal. That alone - when sufficiently increased - would delay the entry of these ships into a game. 2. Slow the Titans down. They are TITANS. Make them move like they are. Any vessels keeping pace with such a starship in a fleet would move very slowly. (Alternate: make them Jump more slowly - actual transit times could be cut&nbsp

I agree with the original post by the original poster - a minor matter, but nonetheless it would be nice to be able to pick race portraits individually instead of by the set.

Cool. Eventually I`ll get some of my group to partake of Sins campaigns, especially with that great Save feature. Sounds like Ironclad are holding the second expansion close to their vests this time. I`m looking forward to beholding the thing perhaps without any prior beta testing... . We will see how impatient I get! I wonder when they`ll start taking pre-orders for it... Holy crap Annatar11... you have the Mother Of All Karma Collections... a vast trove of Karma...<

What is the latest scuttlebutt on Sins these days? Any more details on the next entries in the series? Eta or progress on the second expansion? The nature of the third expansion? Just wondering. I`m anticipating a return to Sins realms myself as I ensnare a new player in it all.

So, anything new in the realm of the forthcoming Majesty ? I personally haven`t heard anything for some time - game-wise been mostly living in L4D, Demigod, and FEAR 2 Lands...

For the demo I would allow a single map, 2 or 3 Demigods playable (Rook for sure), skirmish against A.I., and Custom multiplayer. Not allowing any type of saingleplayer mode would hurt new recruiting... some people, myself included, definitely prefer to learn a game in a non-competitive non-multiplayer environment. The map chosen should likely be Cataract. Definitely not Brothers - that map is too cool for a mere demo. Maybe allow play *against* other Demigod types as

This is good. Hopefully EA keeps it up, trims their bureaucracy (!), vastly improves their customer service, and dispenses with things such as the *necessity* of logging in to official online servers to play your games. Credit where credit is due. Frogboy and company have shaken things up and made a mark.
doesn't the returning armada research in the game imply that even in the timeline of vanilla sins, the vasari make contact with their old empire and get them to send ships to help in the tec/advent front of their current war?
You`d think so. Obviously the Black Fleet succeeded to some degree, or at least some elements of it did. Perhaps success was merely escape & survival. Good point to bear in mind.

The Borg. Any and all Borg-like entities could be considered cliched. This thought has occurred to me often as I ponder any future to the Sins universe. What could so handily defeat the bulk of the Vasari Empire fleet, such that it also remains mysterious and unidentified? Let us assume this phenomena will make an appearance in a future Sins game. The most playable option is to incarnate the phenomena as a faction. The most science-fictiony explanation is some

Tedhnically, despite the fact we are playing both the original and the expansion, I don`t believe Sins Of A Solar Empire is finished yet. Until the final expansion comes out, I don`t consider the game to be complete. With each expansion focussing on and expounding upon a core aspect of the game, I see Sins as a playable work in progress. That in mind, I find that grand strategic contests might be somewhat rare online. That is to say, based upon what I read and have gathered, I
The point is, if i DO have adequate support to protect it, the starbase becomes irrelevant as the fleet that's 'protecting' it most likely wiped out the enemy anyway. So now the expensive starbase is left to clear repair bays and turrets...waste of money
That makes the starbase an option for worse/more dire times, then. Sounds like you just haven`t encountered a circumstance where you *need* that offensively located starbase
Quoting WarlokLord, reply 10 Cumulative necessity... I wouldn`t want a *single* drop-in player to be capable of downgrading my entire group`s game experience... How is that implied by what either I, Hack78 or lbgsloan have said? We are talking about the host to starts the match. Sins doesn't support drop-in players anyway. If it did, presumably they would just be subject to the host's rules anyway.<br /

Leaving an enemy planet behind in order to advance deeper into their territory isn`t a strategy?!? I disagree. Tell this to the Americans who participated in their great Iraq Adventure Part II®. Siege Frigates are cleaners, sure. Using them immediately against an enemy system or using them post-battle to purge a world, either way they are having a strategic effect. Treating them as such and balancing them in that context is therefore reasonable I would think.
What i would like to see is more divergence in the three factions. New ships should be different for each faction with no analogues. For example rather then everyone having a long range frigate with different stats and abilities how about a new type of ship that no other faction has at all. I definitely like the new diplomacy options the game needs its especially for the genre it strives to be in. I think what

This new intro trailer brought a hearty smile to my face, thats for sure... http://www.gamershell.com/news_70704.html (one of a number of download sites for it...) Glad they have the original narrator.

While we are at it, lets not forget to bring down to Earth the RIDICULOUSLY expensive B5 DVD complete set. I`m not paying $300 for 5 seasons of anything, even Babylon 5. I want to, but those prices are extortion. Amazon has it for cheaper, but beyond the main $200 point all the shippers will not ship to Canada. Price for this should be around $110 or so.

I shall do that... either when wielding them (since I`m a Vasari Tyrant at heart), or when being hammered by them. Sounds like I may *need* a Kostura Cannon for those. Which is great!
