One thing that I have noticed that is not mentioned too often is to check that your modem does or does not act as a router as well. This happened to me, I could not figure out what the problem was until I checked the features of the modem I have. My fix was to enable the "DMZ" option that effectively disabled the router, though this may not be a option for some. And btw, the_Monk is the "leading expert" on this problem for the sins forums.

From what I can gather worm holes do not connect to other solar systems, so once you have the system to yourself you can ignore them. I have however seen them attack with their main assault fleet then send a lesser fleet through the wormhole to the same planet 80% of the time. So I do defend the planets next to a wormhole with max defenses. I have also noticed that they use this option far less often then a frontal assault. MP is a whole other story (first sentence still appl
Arguments over the Internet: MY SIDES BETTER BUT I DONT HAVE TO GIVE PROOF BECAUSE I HAVE A PHD IN IT.I highly recommend you watch the Ken Miller versus Intelligent Design video on youtube. I'll repost it again for convenience:Ken Miller on IDHe shows hard evidence that only be ignored through ignorance.
Very good lecture there. Really I have to drop out of this debate, I do not believe in creationism and haven't studied evolution beyond high school education.
I was taught both evolution and creationsim in public school (Newfoundland, Canada). I think both should be taught as they are the two major theories out there right now to explain the diversity and fossil record. Creationism may be more of a philosophical idea, but it directly competes with the evolution theory and I do not see a better setting to explain both (as both theories have a major following) then in the science class room at the same time. These ideas often clash a
Good or bad this is how I do it in multiplayer. First I do not rely on defenses to stop a enemy fleet, only to delay and support my defense fleet. I do not use defenses to defend a planet from bombing, only orbital structures. Depending on the location and enemy player, I will either put all my structures in the rear far out of the way or where I'm likely to engage the enemy fleet and place all my defenses around those structures. This can be good for wasting the en
So, will the various versions of sins (language) be compatible with all the others in MP?
You can play MP decently with a 2 kb/s connection, I doubt it uses much bandwidth.
@Sorceress
-AI is now smarter about retreating and is willing to commit local suicide or accept local Phyrric victories if the global gain is higher and will also factor in local allied forces.

+++++++++++++++A STEP in the RIGHT direction++++++++++++++++++++++Just a reminder to those who want to play with defensive strats. USE THE MODS!Also THIS IS A PATCH NOT AN EXPANSION!My wish list:1) Viable Defensive strategy.2) Biddable (tech, units, cap ship abilities) 3) Deeper personality (Fleet Captains etc)4) Higher Cap ship levels. Thanks for your hard work!!!
Sorry, but i seriously doubt that there will ever be anything put in for turtling. The devs have stated they
@Eliah1 S*** happens, and it happened to fall on you. I ordered the CE through stardock and got everything that was promised. You are the FIRST person i have heard of that received the retail instead of the CE (when you ordered the CE). Another person had bought (from a store) Sins where the serial number was missing, so like a rational human being he hopped on here asking what to do. Some suggested returning to the store where he bought the game and ask for a excha
.Incorrect. Considering everyone's opinion equally rests on the false assumption that everyone is equally informed and competent. Precisely how do you expect listening to people who have no idea what they are talking about will lead to a better game? Now of course, the million dollar question is, does Stardock actually want a better game? If they take pride in their work and their industry, then they should. But its not like we're earning them any more money by continuing to play.
Best i can tell you is hard AI, high resources and unlocked teams. The v1.03 patch looks set to beef up the AI though.
Medium random map, 3 AI, locked FFA. I had taken half the solar system and removed one AI. Another AI had a MASSIVE fleet just one jump from my weakest front line planet, i had to make a mad scramble to rush everything i had to there and build more ships to prepare for a battle i thought i would lose. I go to place bounty on that AI and find that he is quite dead, with that huge fleet still one jump away from me while my scouts reveal the other AI's fleet leaving his
Just listened to the web radio broadcast with the Fraser brothers https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=303368 It is official that IC is monitoring the ICO game stats and believe LRM spam has gotten out of control and LRM spam will be nurffed. Flacks will also no longer be a counter to LRM's.
Ok, shows over.
Watch out for the "Sawed off shovel" in future IC games!
They are fixing the 200 crystal exploit, and new market manipulation.
The beta voices where done by the IC team, TEC being done by the Fraser brothers!
They are monitoring the stats on ICO, including what people are spamming!!! No more LRM spam as of v1.03!
wow, sins based on Enders Game...
LOL, possibility of pink space pony boxers!!
Newfoundland ROCKS!!! (live chat related) -edit- I'm guest 16
Carbon while 3v2 is good enough to beat them for some races (esp. the advent, maybe TEC) you will lose a frig in the process, and holding of a few seconds to avoid that at all costs is worth far more than spending an extra ~400 cred in cost that could be spent on more pressing thingS (like making sure your asteroid doesnt bleed you dry of cash when its done)
As TEC, i send in two, pick off the siege frigate then send in the colony frigate. The light assault frigate will t
I tend to play with personal friends.
I would think of orbital refineries as collecting the normal waste material from the mines and re-processing it to extract what the mine was unable to. As for trade stations, YOUR WOMEN!!! :HOT:
