I'd like to see either the range or dps of planetary defences upped a little as it requires so many to buy you enough time for a fleet to get there on most maps. for me atleast

the expert miner one is awesome on an asteroid planet with 3 resource asteroids :D i also found one where it increased damage to my ships weapons by 10% :)
no the ships were jumping individually, changed from group to individually after i'd given the order, maybe that caused it. all other ships jumped but it just seemed to be the capital ship, it may have been the abilities of the capital ship shooting it, i'll reply if it happens again
Okay now I'm not sure if this has been reported before or not, but sometimes when i tell fleets to jump to a planet one of the ships gets 'stuck' it keeps charging up and i get the 'going into phase space' type message but then something happens and it doesnt go anywhere. i've very nearly lost a capital ship this way, when i brought up the actions the ship needed to perform (shift) i saw the waypoint was further right than the ship was but it didnt try to move to the point :(
they arent too hard to deal with if you just build loads of turrets on a chokepoint planet, also stops those pesky scouts getting past to scout your planets :) at one point in a 2v2 game i had 29 advent beam turrets and a 10k pirate fleet came, i didnt lose a single turret... overlapping fields of fire are great :)
we couldnt have ships maneuvering on their own though as some vasari capital ships have mainly forward facing weaponry, staying still is more damage efficient than moving and having some weapons not firing
you just have to find out for yourself atm, or maybe find a sins of a solar empire wikia somewhere
hmm....exploration of planets maybe?
yeah sorry, i realised this in a game as you can skip techs out, thanks :)
have you tried looking under sins of a solar empire in your hard drive? lol it was part of the download :P
hey guys, ive been playing a bit and been thinking that it would be nice if you select a lab (military or civic) it brings up available upgrades in the UI instead of having to use the research tab? just a thought anyway :)
i had no problem with mine if u want to use that as a reference guys, didnt change any resolutions just dove straight in
ok, well i started with 2 metal, 1 crystal and one nearby planet that i could have colonised, it was a large asteroid, i played as the TEC as i heard they had planetary shields :D
oh right, i looked in research but i guess i just missed them :P thanks guys :) ps any tips for what to build/research when you start off?
hey guys, just wondering how you build cruisers? it says the requisites arent met but doesnt tell you what they are, i was just using frigates X-( they're not great against cruisers
oh no my eyes!!! 'Ze goggles, zey do nothing!!' :P
That's your problem. You are using an alienware system.
or you could just build it yourself ;) trust me it's not that hard, saves money and if something goes wrong you can either troubleshoot here : http://forums.hardwareguys.com/ or you can just google it, nearly always has a solution :)
even if DUAL core (sorry i cant stand bad spelling :p ) processors are not supported in release I'm sure they will be soon after :)
I'm going to say about 1am GMT so that's 8pm EST, uploading takes a while you know?
yeah that would be nice, i like being able to do that in SupCom, also could you maybe add in a feature that SupCom has (it's not necessary but would be nice) where if u tell a group of units to move to attack a unit then tell another group to do the same using shift (in SupCom) you can choose to have them attack the same target but they both arrive at the same time. this may take up too much time and if so i totally understand, but would be nice to have two fleets launch a coordinated a
so wait... you want to further complicate a game that wants to cut down on micromanagement? Most of these changes such as the ground forces would severley slow down the game. and I'm sorry did you just say get rid of gravity wells? so an enemy can jump a fleet of ships in, nuke your planet and then get out of there before any real damage can be caused? Now i know i havent played the beta but all of the above can be backed up by what Ironclad and Stardock have released, as with
that's an excellent case, i use one myself keeps the processor nice and cool :) lots of room inside it too so not much frustration's involved, not for me anyway :D good luck and i hope all goes well for you
We've been trying to get a Euro publisher on board for some time, but none of them believe the German market (biggest for PC gaming in Europe) will support a Space RTS right now. As such, no publisher means no native Euro retail for Sins, unfortunately. So importing or direct-orders are really the only option for European players.
so that's why i see so many german players on SupCom, always wondered...
infinitely improbable at that
yeah but what happens if you're entire fleet of ships turns into sperm whales and pots of petunias? ;p
the 'Event Horizon', 'Executor', 'Arc Hammer', 'retribution' and the 'Scimitar'
