And no you cannot get a mini fleet to follow around the scout, sorry I missed that.

usually, scouts are set to auto explore and they arent part of the fleet. They go out on their own to explore the galaxy. Scouts have no value in battle, except maybe as fodder. And even then I have never heard of anyone using scouts in that way. Typical beginning game user builds 2-3 scouts, 3-4 light frigates and a colony cap ship. After that, depending on the size of the map, you may or may not need to build more scouts.
If your having issues with the website (which may be since I cant get to it at all) I would suggest freewebs.com to create one. I have made one with them, its free, easy and they have alot of useful tools (so its easy to set up forums).
the link doesnt seem to work
Any chance a date for the real patch has surfaced? I dont mean to rush the Dev's, they do an AWESOME job, and I understand they need alot of time to make things right, I'm just curious.
This feature is defiantly overdue to be added.
Though I think this bug is nice, I also think it takes away from the game. Part of finding artifacts is not knowing where they are. It makes you decide weather you want to spend resources on that planet, or on research, your fleet, ETC. Part of this game is making choices, and I think if they leave this bug in, it defeats that purpose and makes Sins less of a game. Things arent supposed to be easy, and you arent supposed to have 'everything', and not knowing where artifacts are adds to the u
I am sure the screenshots will be helpful, I havent seen many posts with those included.
I have had the same issue
I recently created a galaxy in galaxy forge, and transferred it to the galaxy folder for my sins install. However, I cannot find the map I created in ANY of the lists. This used to be a breeze without the beta patch. Is there some new way of organizing maps that I havent found yet? or is galaxy forge not compatible with the newer versions of sins yet? (if that were the case, this is understandable no use updating galaxy forge for a beta just to update it again in am month).
use Digsby, it has facebook support, as well as myspace im. You can log onto multiple social networks (and multiple accounts per network) at the same time seperate from IM's. Then it has support for all the IM's you can think of (even google chat). Great program, not beta. I used trillian for a long time but digsby is way ahead.
I just played a lan game on razors edge with my brother, 3v3 2 people 4 AI, and when I tried to direct my ally AI's fleet to aid me during a pirate attack it replied I don't think our allys would appreciate that'' Beyond the fact that teams were locked so the AI shouldnt be able to form alliances, having the AI able to form an alliance with the pirates is just weird. I dont think this is supposed to happen, so has anyone else had this issue? While on the topic up, I have had an AI give
I agree, having each sun do something different is a WONDERFUL idea. I am not so sure about the suns effecting the types of planets as I am unsure ow that would be emulated. Perhaps they could just stick it into the in game map designer and have it put more of a certain type of planet. Though I think the user has so much control over the planet types, it would be almost fruitless. That is just my opinion though, and I usually dont know much :) Good post, I hope the idea ge
I am gettign the same 'IP address not visible'' in red when I test, but it hasnt prevented me from joining a game, I havent tried to host yet though.
I think we were also supposed to only post beta bugs in this forum https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/forum/440 That way we dont clutter up the regular forums
They asked we post bugs in the 1.1 thread that already exists. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/forum/440
Those using the beta version will be on a different instance of the ICO server as Kryo indicated. You will only be able to see other beta users. Mods, save games from previous versions, etc. will not work with this beta. Mods will need to be updated by their creators in order to work (just like with previous updates).
Great info to know!
Its 5am here in California, impulse doesn't list an available update yet (yes, I set it to display beta)
I think it is important to focus on one thing at a time, especially at first. Due to the nature of this game, you have to split your attention to multiple areas at once. But when your first starting out, I would suggest trying to do things on at a time. This will get you killed in multiplayer, so practice on solo. I'm sorry I cant give a more detailed response right now, but feel free to contact me on xfire of yahoo. My xfire is squigglethecow and my yahoo is squigglethegamer. you can also email
I agree, very rarely would you scuttle a planet. I like that the option is there so you can give your ally one if need be, but other than that I see no practical application of it. I haven't seen anyone do this in game, though. I'm surprised to hear you have.
Theres alot of members in this xfire group, but most dont play Sins much.I'm nto saying its an overly bad thing, but if your looking for a 'hard core' sins group, this probably isnt it.
You have any sources for this information or are you just generalizing and furthering a ridiculous stereotype? Pirates are human beings like you. Some are stupid. Some are freeloaders. Some are extremely intelligent. Some pirates buy a huge quantity of games each year, legally. Piracy has even helped a certain TV show make it big. In other words, they aren't all idiots that would never consider The Big Picture. I'm not saying that piracy is "right" or "wrong" -- nor do I
I think this comes down to the need for a good ladder or tournament system for Sins, which in turn comes down to the size of the community, which in turn comes down to the current technical issues that make all that difficult.I personally find that it's hard for me to find a good game online. For every good mature player I come across, I go through 5 or so games with either people who don't understand the game, don't really like to make an effort to be good and win, or have an attitude pr
What's wrong with quitting when you're about to lose--when the game has already been decided? Is it really necessary to fight it out to the last ship and last planet?
I agree that ppl should be able to get out, but there is a difference between them surrendering and them flat out dropping. I think the honorable thing for them to do si surrender, admit defeate, and then move on.
A Sins MMO...interesting idea, but I wonder how computers would deal with having 100,000 ships at a time. It might require a radical reprogramming of the game so that it were server based.
I would prefer it be server based, users are too unreliable to be responsible for hosting. I dont like the MMO idea though, personally I prefer starting each game new, thats what this game is all about really, doing things differently each time.
