I wish I knew. Some people have mentioned team index in galaxy forge, but I have been unable to figure out how the heck it works.

I think TEC is great if you can focus on your econ trade ports allow TEC to mass WAY more reasources early and mid game then the other races, and if that is used well they can dominate a larger empire than the other players.
and once those frigates (or scouts) are there just leave them and they will do the work
If you can manage to find the reply, and post it it could be a neat thing to watch I havent an idea how he did that, how many kostra did he have? it sounds like it was more than one if he was able to take you down with them but once you took out his military labs he shouldnt have been able to build any more of them
I have issues with hard as well. I know you have to keep moving ALL THE TIME and never stop producing ships...thats all I have heard. If you'd like to try to play a 2v2 against AI, you can email me at or im me on xfire at squigglethecow maybe, since we both havent beat a hard AI yet, we would figure out how to kick their butt.
Culture is a good way to defend your planets. An enemy will have to destroy your broadcast centers in order to take planets under your culture.
Akkons targeting uplink ability can be very useful. When upgraded it increases to effectivness of all your other ships in range by like ....30%?? (correct me if wrong).
There should be an entry in thereaserch tree that allows you to upgrade past normal levels of cap ship experiance. I play as TEC, so I dont know where advents is, but in TEC its towards the end of the civilian tree I think.
Just try to ignore them, and if you must start using passwords for your games and wisper them to players in ICO
There is also an xfire clan for HH. Which is conveniant
It is only a staring location is your select 'home planet true' Anything colonizable can be a home planet I believe.
achievements have to be done durign a single game, since each game you start from the beginning.
I believe its the same differance as between tetrran planets and terran hoem planets. The home planets have a larger population (I THINK, not sure) and/or more logistics slots or something. Also, if you place a home planet somewhere and dont make it the hoem planet of a player, it becomes ahome planet of those ranom grey guys who are everywhere. And you have to use seige frigates to get it.
wow, I want to see what 20,000 scouts could take out, add in some upgrades (not that th e socouts really have any, but I believe some of the shield upgrades in TEC work on all ships) hmmm
is there any particular reason you hadnt used that fleet? Were you trying to build up as much as you could?
I dont understand how the team index in forge works, can anyone explain?
In huge star systems, make sure you haev a kick butt economy. I usuaully take my hoem star first, then fortify the planets an enemy can phase jump to via the star. This way, while my fleet is away my home worlds (best allegances, most money, reaserch centers, ETC) are all relitivly protected once I go to the other stars.
nice job quoting Sun Tzu. So what was your side doing? We dont want to beat you down or make you feel like crap, but I, myself, am just a bit curious.
Unfortunatly, it sounds like you waited too long. Thats an easy mistake to make in this game, and is nothing to be ashamed of. I have to agree with Gabal, you should have spammed LRM and Seige frigates and attacked his planets ASAP, I wouldnt have colonized since the situation was so dire, but at the same time I suppose thats opinion rather than stratagy written in stone. The trick is, their fleets were small, and you could have rushed
Actually, I have always wanted to try that
Awhile ago I read that the team index (in galaxy forge) can help you set which team starts where. However, I dont understand how it works at all. I have played around with it, and it seems to effect how teams are layed out, or at least it auto creates teams in the pre-game menus... But, I still dont get how to use it. Could anyone explain how to adjust starting positions via the team index value? Any other cool galaxy forge stuff I should kn
Only building scouts is a good way to have fun.
I want to do that now....
I like getting the akkon when I play TEC, that way I have a cap ship that can colonize as I go along. Usuaully, its the only cap ship I build since its free (minus the cap ship factor I scuttle after building the ship). The akkon also have a targeting ability that increases the weapons chance to hit for all ships within range, which can be useful early game especially.
There are TONS of threads about this, if you search the forums you will find lots of valuble info. Basics: The more trade posts you have (one at each planet in an unbroken line) the more you make. You can see your longest trade chain by hovering the mouse over the credits in the HUD, and a white line will appear between your planets showing you your chain. You dont HAVE to have a chain to get benefits from trade posts, but the longer your chain the MORE you make.
