What are the advantages/disadvantages of Windows Home Server compared to a Linux home server?
Ease of configuration. What's the old adage? "Linux is only free if your time is worth nothing." DrGonzo
Is there any way of using this mod only cosmetically- checksum differs in multiplayer :( Awesome work though :) DrGonzo
gonzo I suggest reading the bottom of the OP
Is listed under a header of for Sins 1.1 :D Thanks though ;) DrGonzo
Windows Classic FTW... jeez- so much wasted space ... blurs make my eyes ache... gaaahhh... DrGonzo
How ever the version converted by Annatar for sins entrenchment 1.01 works for 1.03 and you can play online with it.
Do you have a link to that for me? I see a lot of various versions, and don't want to grab the wrong one. Thanks-- Gonzo
Did you spam ICO or otherwise piss admins off to the point they b&? ... are domains resolving properly for you? $: \>nslookup google.com DrGonzo
Does dxdiag return anything it shouldn't? Out of date sound or video drivers? DrGonzo
...is this a purely cosmetic mod? Dr.Gonzo
When I've created games I noticed it changes my chat channel to from Lobby 1... I suppose if you crashed, logged back into ICO, and changed your channel back to you might be able to speak to the people still playing.. Never tried. DrGonzo
gonzo were you using a mod from 1.02?
Neg, as far as I know it was a vanilla [entrenchment] install-- never went out of my way to add anything extra but my own galaxies and the relevant .tga files-- since the manifest files are overwritten during the patch, I can't figure that mattered. What tool is required to convert bin->ascii? I can't really read the contents of the file to check for relevant line edits-- but Im pretty sure I never made any, as all this is
you think of that when enemy vasari player starts building mobile star base on every planet.....
Just means Vasari player is going to have a high "Starbases Lost" count. Dr.Gonzo
I have WinXP x64 and have been noticing an increased rate in minidumps since the Entrenchment update... so a partial yes. I can play the game though-- but it's crashed 3 of the last 3 somewhere around 90 minutes in, it also dumped on the end of game stats once-- and on a Marza Barrage once. DrGonzo
Smurf or not teams are stacked
Also true. Just about nothing in life is fair. Dr.Gonzo
Perhaps having a master account that all subsequently created accounts are children of-- could be accessed by checking player information maybe? Is this really that big of a problem? DrGonzo
Just internet relay chat used for ICO right? How hard would it be to have a bot that moderated to a minor degree? DrGonzo
Akin to Microsoft saying Windows is DRM free but you have to activate explorer. They got a lot of mileage out of saying "DRM Free", and whispering "Only on the CD in the box, everything else that is required to continue to play this game is laced with it"... Disingenous at the very least- liar at the very most. In many ways, this form of DRM is worse than SecurROM and other things like that-- at least you can take those places without them phoning home and requiring internet connections.<br /
The simplest advice I could offer is to avoid NEVERs and ALWAYSes while playing... The variances of planets and opponents are simply too dynamic. You need to build what is required, not what you want. Build orders should probably be avoided... Dr.Gonzo
Now that the custom maps are stored in one single Galaxy Forge folder, I wonder if it might be easier them to fix things so that they will auto-download.
Galaxy Forge folder doesn't seem to work right for me :( ... Someone grab these, I want to play Ruthless 2v2 over ICO :) DrGonzo
Good luck with that
Indeed. Herp derp! Deceit is alright because it's the (*$@#&$ing status-quo.
Yeah I'm over it. Moving on to people who don't lie to customers. Program phones home. That is DRM. Im not mad about the DRM- Im mad that you lied. DrGonzo
Lie: -tell an untruth; pretend with intent to deceive; -a statement that deviates from or perverts the truth -no sins drm One can no longer download, install, archive and move the installation without re-activation? This = DRM. You = liar. [e digicons][/e] DrGonzo
Alloy within ICO
What does Alloy do anyways? Just a uPnP service? DrGonzo
Wat?
Feel free to kill me for my ignorance / stupidity /etc. but couldn't a solution be to remove all build penalties and charge a small fee for strike craft replacement? Just because the Aircraft Carrier cost $20 billion doesn't mean the strike craft didn't cost $20 million, so to say. DrGonzo
