Speaking of collectors edition what are the estimated shipping times to the west coast USA... Im still missing mine ;)
Full XP install is nowhere near $300, I got my last legit copy for under $100.
If only more companies worked this way.
Please check to see that the game is exiting cleanly- Im not sure what the problem is but it certainly has exiting issues for me.
I haven't found it in my task manager after closing it, but it does cause instability, sluggish performance etc. in my system after I've closed it out.
I think maybe the best solution would be to just merge command groups into fleets.
But I like to hotkey my frig factories :(
It goes 7-1 real fast. If you can hold that off you're a better man than I, gungadeen.
The mission "system" needs to be tweaked quite a bit more.
What kind of internet access to you have- and what is the related hardware: makes and models please?
The z5500 should be digital etc. where the x540 are analogue.... I dont think the X540 does coax/optical in... just multichannel analogue... so no true digital audio- still fine speakers. A buddy of mine has the Z5500s... he's never said anything bad about them. Dont bother with the Fatality stuff, generally speaking... especially if the same card is cheaper without the name- If it's in the bargain bin for "x" reason go for it.
What's the radius of the star?
I think in order to get barren neutral planets you have to edit the planet and uncheck "load default template" ... not totally sure, haven't tried it yet. As for phase lanes, they tend to be as long as the distance between the two object connected... move them closer together?
There seems to be a pathfinding bug in 1.02 [likely was there before]. It happens with a frigate factory rally pointed on my cap ship [4 jumps away]. The ships coming out will pick very esoteric [and often dangerous] routes to get to the rally point- even if it's the same number of jumps, they'll wander through pirate territory. It's out of their way, and Im curious as to why they do it. Hazards should be considered in AI pathfinding.
Make the novalith have to orbit a planet to kill it? Eh, I don't know... superweapons are always touch and go.
Forums: Defense is useless. (Patch 1.04) Forums: Offense is useless!
Patch 1.1 Forums: Finally a freakin' balance.
There is a clear trend in multiplayer towards heavy cruiser spam. I see many people completely bypassing the lower upgrades, teching for heavy cruisers... There just have to be alternatives. And that should be the lower military upgrades. ...
Feel free to shoot me down on this one but couldn't it be assumed that much of the lower tech is required to build a heavy cruiser and therefore dependent upon it? Just make the hull/laster/etc pre-requisites... no?<br
Not yet it seems.
I have no clue why it didn't ship with this capability.
They might also include a game option that weighs it more for RTS or more for 4X depending on the players and the style of game... Maybe quicker movement, more damage, faster tech for the RTS setting- and more drawn out research, slower movement, less damage for the 4X game. I also like the idea of several victory conditions. Space Race, Artifact Conquest etc.
You need to login to the router with your web browser... the 2wire I had was 172.16.0.1... but Im not sure what the IP of yours is... Inside there should be an option for firewall and/or port forwarding... From here most web router/firewall interfaces are similar... they'll ask you for what you want to call the service... this is whatever you want to name it... I used "sins". Then most have a port range. Here you want 6112-6112. It will need an IP address to forward the port to, that's
I'd like to see maps stream over ICO too... it also encourages people to make maps and helps the community...
A way to join games in progress would be nice :)
What kind of firewall/router/thingy you have?
Did you change the lane type to "wormhole"?
Firstly: The first tutorial is a known bug. I encountered it myself, but figured I could manage moving ships about without a tutorial :) I don't think you're missing a lot from it... The first cap ship is free- so in my experience it's usually worth having one early on. Im somewhat of a newblet myself, but I go for worlds around me and choke points... conservative research and fleet construction. The AI especially loves those siege frigates, so make sure you don't overextend yourself an
Upgrade your planets- unless you've upgraded the civil infrastructure, they're a net drain on the economy. Mouse over the credits count in the top right to get a summary of income and expenditures.
