DAMN IT.... It does NOT work with old save files! *hug*
Can i have one too? I have an online savegame of a match that's been going on for about 9 hours now, and it wont let me log in ICO without updating :'(
But, it might be possible in larger/longer games to create a sort of "tarpit" or "roach motel" system with lots of phase inhibitors and a waiting nearby fleet...
About that, do phase inhibitors effect stack? You're talking about the buildings with area of effect right? i was considering building a few of those together but i though the effect wouldnt be added
got the game on release and have played a few games now to completion with each race. So far I've found I like the Advent the best. Anyway, I played a full game that I just finished as Vasari where I completed the entire tech tree in all branches just to try everything out. I had a few questions. Under the Vasari Tech tree there is an ability called 'Returning Armada'. I tried using the ability and I didnt really see it do anything. Could someone please expl
You can send your friend your save file and the game should load up fine. Your friend will lose his hotkey groups and other client specific information.
Yep it did work, thanks :D
You can't save AFTER he's left the game, because he won't save too, and so won't have the save file. You need to restart from the last autosave that he does have. Cheers
Wont manualy give him the file work? (even tho i guess it's not the recommended approach :P). Vista was hidding em from me, already found where they are. I'll use the autosave if there is no other solution then.
I was playing a match with a friend, been going for 4 hours now. After a long while without saving he dropped, so i saved the game, and we tried to resume. Now the game says that he doesnt have the necesary files. My guess is that he doesnt have the save game and that i have to send it to him, but i cant find it. Where are they stored? I'm using vista, and i cant find em.
I'm pretty sure the rest of the mod tools will allow us to adjust the base phase speed between stars also, which would probably be easier than changing all the maps
That'll be cool. Atm, forgetting about gaming balance, it feels really weird that it takes such a short time to travel be
We played against Hard every game.
Looks like you'll have to teach me a few tricks lol. God i hate being a noob.
Well they beat me in normal atm so no rush for a better AI on my part lol. And looking at how fast the first patch is coming i'm not worried at all for it to keep me busy for some time. They'll eventually find the sweet spot this kind of things.
A lot of it is knowing how to manipulate the AI into retreating, I'll be honest. I know, for example, that it considers capital ships very important, and focus firing on 1-2 capitals while ignoring everything else will usually force it to tuck tail and run, assuming you had comparable fleets to begin with
Well they're capital ships after all... I usually dont even try, they're not supposed to be the kind of ship you can just pop quick even with lots of ships. If i go in a system and they decide to retreat, so be it. When they engage and decide to fight seriously, i havent found that hard to blow em up during the battle, it's not like they just retreat right away.I blew up 2 or 3 of em in the same battle yesterday, and i lost 1. When i imagine a capital ship i think about the Galactica, not just a
Uhm, what dificulty level are you playing in? I've been playing the level with the 5 stars, 4 players a few times, with normal randomized AI and it's giving me a hard time. Yeah they run sometimes when i attack one of their planets, but they defo strike back, and hard, and move between stars. I usually have their scouts around real soon. Even had a really epic battle that lasted over half an hour, they kept sending reinforcements in and a second AI decided to show up when i was finaly
Yeah you might not have placed a bid or kept it high enough for them to attack an enemy faction. I myself have personally seen enemy fleets attack and destroy pirates, in one case I followed quickly after a pirate fleet and kept my ships far enough away as they softened the massive enemy fleet then swooped in after the pirates were dead and crippled the enemy fleet.
If you have seen em attack the AI then i guess it was particular
Well maybe it's how it's supposed to work, i dont know, i havent been following the game for long. Thing is, i just finished a game with 3 AIs in a 5 stars map. When the game finished (i had to surrender... i was sandwiched by 2 of em, had a battle going for about 30 mins, i shouldnt have sent reinforcements in, lost most of my fleet lol) i was checking the stats they give you at the end, when i noticed that the AIs didnt kill 1 single pirate, their stats were flat. So eith
