Ironclad has a couple of expansion packs in development. The first one is called Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment which lets users build starbases and a host of other structures that let players truly lay claim to territory. Another expansion for next year (tentative of course) is designed to expand the diplomatic scope of the game. Hmmm... Since when is it only 2 expansions!?!?! Isn't it suppose to be 3??? Shed

Until someone gives me an example of other Dev chasing a bug till early in the morning and then afterwards coming to forums and writing this stuff up I will worship Ironclad as best dev house out there... Glad we don't have some boring community manager over here! [e digicons]k6[/e] [e digicons]k6[/e] [e digicons]k6[/e] [e digicons]k6[/e] [e digicons][/e]

Indeed!
Thanks, and keep up the awesome job! The forum might have complaints, but I'm sure most of us appreciate it
Indeed! Really interesting read :) Hopefully you fix it for good with 1.12!
Personally, I'd really like it if the third, as yet undisclosed microexpansion, is a campaign. I'm not sure how other folks would fel about that, but I'm a big fan of story in games, and I woul REALLY love to find out as much as possible about the Sins of a Solar Empire Universe.
I agree 100% In fact here is what I would love to see (as stated in couple of other threads) &n
It's not that "all" the clans are dead. Rather, it's that there never really was a clan scene to begin with.
I beg to differ... Clan scene at start, although not huge, was indeed present however sooner or later pretty much everyone realised that game simply isn't made for clan / competitive scene mainly due to lack of two things: 1. Lack of shorter / smaller compe

Sins is indeed a bomb! One of the best games i played in my entire gaming life (which is more than 25 years long now!) but there is nothing that can save it online but serious rethink on strategy regarding the future of this wonderful product... Expansion packs? Yes! But like this: 1st expansion - Entrenchment - leave it as is since it will introduce much needed defensive depth into games strat...

Does a "fear" of experienced (or pro) players keep you from playing Sins online? NO! Its fear of wasting 2 or 3 or more hours of my life just to find someone disconnects or indeed that i need to spend 5 hours more just to finish single game... Sins simply MUST introduce number of smaller / shorter competitive game modes together with proper clan support if it is to see remotely serious presence on line... Something I have been saying since day 1 pretty much - b

lets put it this way... from medium-high settings i went up to all max with better frame rate, gfx, effects and overall performance... this is on MacBook Pro with 4Gb of Ram Duo 2.4Ghz and 8600GT 256Mb arguably the best patch in history of gaming :)

1. Impulse is great... Try following one of the solutions provided by devs and users - if that fails - try reinstalling your Windows since its probably screwed up somewhere along the line... 2. Patch 1.1 is awesome - haven't played it that long but having in mind how huge it is there is a chance of bug or two, however, it is instantly noticeable how much better game is and how much better it plays... 3. Clan scene - I agree - it is dead simply coz devs never payed enough atten

yap... although not as extreme as your pic above but i had rather similar thing happening to me last night in 1v1 vs AI i am still not 100% to claim something for sure but i think 1.1 might have introduced few minor bugs about... need to play it more...
Hanrow I totally agree with Nephilim and here's why: (quoting myself from a another similar thread) See, I don't. It's because that, given how bloody complicated these damned setups are these days, I've run into cases where everything looks alright, and everything checks out as alright -- but things still don't work. I, personally, never had a problem until I ran into "Mass Effect" -- and, all of a sudden, I was on

@Monk Quote ftw!!! These days I am Mac user but it took me fair few years to learn what you just wrote above... In fact since Windows 95... Now, I run XP via Bootcamp on my Mac... My XP installation is sooooooooo clean i cant actualy explain it to you how clean it is... I do NOT even have anti virus installed! Its vanilla as vanilla can be and it runs perfectly all my games... Including Impulse of course :)

I just blame Windouz for majority of these Impulse related issues... It is just way too hard to keep it clean and secure making us install number of various protections while screwing up registry along the way and messing up our gaming life... 99% of peeps who know how to keep their Win instalation clean and tight wont have any problem with Impulse... :p

Awesome job guys and keep up the great work :)

BTW Regarding reported issues here is my experience so far... 1. Logged in no problem 2. It took AGE to "retreive latest info" 3. Dling patch as I type at 150Kb - no problem... This is all on XP running via Bootcamp.
Here is how a SoaSE campaign would play out: The first three episodes would be a tutorial and introduce the main adversary with most tech and units locked. Then you get the star jump tech and some longer games with more tech. Then the vasari show up and more tech and now diplomacy etc all laced together with the odd cutscene and lame voice overs YAWN!
If that is your idea of campaign then YAWN indeed! I am not sure what is your profess

You know, there is one rather simple yet extremely complex thing called OBJECTIVITY - everyone knows what it means but not many people reach that "level" of perception to really become OBJECTIVE in their life... There are people who play SP only and people who are more than happy having only skirmish option - sure, and that is fine... But there is at very least equal amount of people (if not more) who like story, campaign and competitive MP - fact... So why IC/SD doesn
I'm not a fan of campaings either. I play them as glorified tutorials and usually stop about halfway through. The amount of resources it costs to actually make a campaign worth the time and effort is too much. Most campaigns are not overly well written and don't add much to the gameplay. Since the demand is so great for a campaign, I'd much rather them put their resoures into a campaign/scenario editor so that the community can develope th
