My thoughts on the matter: Earth being the only living planet in the universe is a statistical impossibility. Contact with Aliens cannot be made, due the fact that (as far as our science knows) light speed cannot be reached, much less exceeded, and even if it could, it's way too damn slow for interstellar traveling. Aliens that would visit us would propably be friendly, since if they were hostile, they would propably had destroyed themselves long before getting here.</

Good to see you emerged from these difficulties relatively unscathed. Yet another blow against the "We need DRM to keep profitable" argument [e digicons][/e]
Aw thats my favorite website for DL's
The site isn't going anywhere. They've said that several times, they still want to keep "sticking it to The Man" or something... It's also funny to read pro-piracy peoples comments how the prosecutors case complete BS, and that these guys were convicted only because somebody bribed somebody
Does Commodore 64 count as a PC? It said so in the faceplate: "Commodore 64 Personal Computer" :p EA made wonderfull games back then, "Racing Destruction Set" was one of my favourites, also "Power at Sea" got a lot of play time. I still have fond memories of the TAC-2 joystick , which was conside
Well, i read the linked article, and it states that it cost $1 extra for each gigabyte OVER the bandwidth usage limit the customer chooses to pay for. Fixed monthly pay of for example $30.00 for 20 GB/month + $1 extra for each GB that goes over the 20 GB (prices and limits are pure guesses). I have an unlimited bandwidth for a fixed monthly pay, so of course this worse than that, but not quite as terrible as you make it sound.
If you have Vista, you can customize the sins icon in Games menu to have both vanilla, and Entenchment launch option. That is one of the features i love in Vista.
I've seen demo links, that open up a browser window, but AFAIK there are no Impulse downloadable demos, llike Steam has.

I prefer blueberry pie, personally. It's a finnish thing ;)
Nice job with those bombers, they remind me of the Sukhoi-32 [e digicons][/e]
The way games are rated is another topic altogether, but at face value, that law makes sense (of course depending on what 'severe punishment' exactly means). I played Mortal Kombat 2 as a kid and survived, but kids these days... :P
I have IzArc so it doesn't really matter.
So someone else IS aware of this program! It has some issues with the special letters in my language (ä,ö,å, i mean), and it cannot skip damaged files in rar archives like WinRAR, but otherwise works perfectly, and is freeware. It also does 7zips, both ways ;)
Why I've not seen that trailer before, i can't understand, but seein how Sins is now compared to how it was in that trailer, i must say is a huge improvement. Also, those old ship and structure models.. [e digicons]8O[/e]
How exactly do those conflict with eachother? The first one warns that you may encounter stuff you don't like here, and the second one says that you musn't post "unlawful, harmful, threatening, etc.." content.
8. Linux will replace all major OS'es, soon.
As long as games are coded for DirectX, and Linux distro's have the "You need to be this nerd to use me" reputation, Windows isn't going anywhere.
WOW! How does one max out an octo-core processor!? My dual-core processor is thankfully enough for now, it's the memory i need more of; few more gigs ram, and 64b OS to make use of it, i7 possibly in the distant future, when people react to it: "How about something NOT from the last decade" ;)
As other have said, that's a great thing you did, and resigning as a protest wouldn't propably accomplish much. The truth has a tendency to come out sooner or later, and it won't be too pleasant for your boss ;) BTW, what did your boss do after arriving at the scene?
I've bought and played EA games forever, and my computer hasn't tried to explode on me yet. Anyway Ravok, you might have better luck, and possibly less EA bashing, at the official C&C forums at http://forums.commandandconquer.com
That beast makes my machine look like the electronic junk it is. Congratulatons to whoever wins it, and congratulations to stardock for their success. As for the millionth user, i see Benedicto's point, but agree with the bible quote. (And no, i'm not religious ;))
Yeah, it's certainly due mainly to the "Games for Windows" thing. What annoys me the most about it is that Vista has specific user directories for Saved Games (which can be relocated easily) and things like that but most companies insist on using AppData or some other non-moveable system folder.
Exactly. Many GfW titles store their stuff under "My Games", why does Sins hide it in AppData?
Actually, people keep getting smarter thanks to the fact that most of us live in "1st world countries", made possible by application of science. Religion is useful for answering philosophical questions and help people deal with their mortality, but one really shouldn't take the creation stories seriously. Who really believes the earth is only few thousands of years old? (I know some do, i also know of the "Flat Earth s
"Fully upgraded" simply means that all the upgrade slots are used. As for what upgrades you should buy, it depends where you are placing the starbase. My favored race is Advent, and i haven't yet found any good reason to not have one level in Meteoroid Control (second level is currently broken AFAIK), if the starbase orbits a terran planet, i usually have the maximum allegiance increase upgrades too. If a starbase is in an uncolonizable gravwell not on frontlines, i fit it with tradep
Yup, as others said, this game plays well without one. After finishing a 20+ hour multi-star map, you may change your mind about wanting a campaign.
SINS of a Solar Empire can't have too many SINS in it, now can it? Looking forward to the next expansion. Espionage, improved empire management, and replacement to the current mission based diplomacy is more than welcomed.
A mobile starbase has some advantages, but building a starbase each time you would need some torpedo cruisers??? Not really viable!
That's exactly it. Vasari attack entrenched planet with different method than TEC and Advent. With them, you can always have Anti-Structure Cruisers with you, but with Vasari, building a starbase is viable only for heavily defended planets. Symmetry=lazy balancing, and i, for one, am happy with the way things are now.
