Well that really depends on what you want to do, but you can start by reading the stickies at top of this section, they have some basic info.

I've noticed it too. Sins doesn't seem to update the situation, while issuing orders in pause(the whole game, not only the universe, is paused). In Homeworld 2 it worked perfectly, action was paused, but everything else worked and responded normally. Maybe the devs could make Sins work like that?
If I remember the "karmic retribution" research correctly, it adds bounty, but doesn't take it out your funds. Also, another way to use bounty in 1v1 is playing as Vasari, and researching the "expert bounty hunting". You'll get bigger reward than the bounty you put on the enemy.
Are you playing vs Advent? They have a research that adds bounty automatically, if you destroy their trade ships.
Well, that makes more sense. I haven't payed that much attention to statistics since the update.
The best would be Vukoras Desolator, especialy with red coloring.
Also, you can see the artifacts influences in the research tree's "Artifacts" section. BTW, what is the "artifact research done" in the end game statistics? It's always been 0 on my games.
Planets were transparent on my computer too when i still had a Radeon 9250. After i "upgraded" to Radeon 9600, everything has shown ok. As for drivers i've always used the Omega divers: http://www.omegadrivers.net They may give a little boost.
I too agree. For example C&C Generals and Tiberium Wars show a little medal next to skirmish maps, showing what difficulty you beated it. Something similar would be a nice addition to sins, just changing the color of the scenarios name would be enough. Also, how about a victory fanfare when you win? Maybe a extended version of the music that plays when you discover an enemy planet.
It's coming this or next month (I think). Many people are playing this game below the minimum requirements though.
Is the processor single or dual core, and does the GPU have dedicated RAM? Those make a big difference. Also OS has an effect, since recommended memory is higher for Vista. I'm playing "comfortably" with high settings on: 2.8 GHz Celeron something (single core, no hyperthreading) 1 GB DDR 400 Ram Radeon 9600 Pro with 256 MB ram Win XP Home I'd say you can run this game, but a demo should be released soon, so you may want to wait for it.
Notepad++ is basicly notepad redesigned for programmers. It's perfect for C++ or HTML and of course, modding. It can also mark "reserved" words with different colors, like an IDE program. There's also another program like this called EditPad or something, but it's free version isn't as good as NP++.
I'm playing that same map now, too. I started by taking over other player's starting systems, and now I'm focusing on the central system. End is not even close...
Well, i've only noticed negative capacity numbers when i've qued capasity research and ships. If you have a replay of that game you might be able to see wath was going on.
I've noticed the same thing, units speech doesn't sound, but music plays normally. For me, pausing and unpausing solves the problem.
And, of course, you can use it to boost allegiance on your own planets. I use it just before I invade an enemy planet, though I havent noticed any big difference.
I initially thought that as well, but after playing and reading some strategies I've noticed that they are quite different. I just started playing "Gateway", as the Advent, and already (time Get ready to eat some culture, you filthy brutes!
I'm from Finland, and also bought through SDC the other other day. Money well spent, i must say :CONGRAT:. It's a shame if this never get released in Europe.
I thought that the Novalith cannon can only target colonies within the same solar system, did I misread the description or something? Anyway, some sort of "Cancel Volley" button for the cannon could be useful, in RL Cruise missiles can be self-destructed too. Or just have the autocast off ;)
