I've seen a planet telling me "you sence some kind of artafact on this planet", so I looked at all the planets I had, and no other ones had that. So I paid to search the one "alerted" planet, and sure enough, found a bonus tech. I got really curious, and searched all my planets (ruined my econcomy, so I had to reload). I did find a tech bonus on another planet that had not alterted me something was there. So being alerted there is something on your planet seems to be a bug, or a rare

Good post R.A. Flack does seem like an "extra pinky" now, but I'm not sure what else to do with it. Like I wrote, If they helped stop LRM missles, I'd put them in my fleets to counter LRM spam (and help a bit with SC). Otherwise, at the time, I'd guess I'd always build carriers, not flack, for anti-SC.

All potential customers are "new to the game", and they very much dislike telling everythig what SC type to build. I'm an experienced player, and very much dislike telling each and every hanger, cap ship, and carrier what SC to build. If a simple "button" would solve this, WE would push it, and YOU don't have to. If the AI auto-builds SC types, it seems the simplest of additions to click "Auto-Build" for humans too, as the programming is already fully written and implemented to do th

Exactly FoePa, my two friends that have been trying the game off and on, they said they can't count the times they relized their Hangers were doing nothing because they forgot to go in and give them detailed instuctions to build SC; now with carriers, and their first tries with 1.09, they say they attack with their fleet, only to see their carriers sitting there, and remember, they have to go in and click dozens of times to tell them to build SC. They remembered to do it more often the

I want a simple implimintaion that wiil stop literaly TONS of time spent clicking-clicking-clicking, bomber, fighter, bomber, fighter, ect. If it works for you Anna, more power to you; it's a pita for US; it's more like C&C interface stuff. Tolerable with Hangers, even Cap ships, but with the huge numbers of Carriers everyone will be buiding now, it breaks the pace of the game;is a continous hassel each and EVERY time you pop out a carrier, and stops the mood of the game to handle a en

I am aware that clicking on the planet or fleet will give you one little button (bottom right) to click, and assign bombers/fighters. Reguardless, you still have to do it each and EVERY time you add a hanger or another carrier. I have soooo much other stuff in the game to do, and Sins says it's trying to do away with all the mindless micro; chosing Bomber/Fighter 100 times a games is mindless micro to me. As for the 50/50, that was just an example; there could be three settings

Before 1.09, each and every hanger bay, you have to tell them what type of SC you want to have in them (Fighter/Bomber). It's a really annoying, time consuming micro-management, but we tolerated it. Now, with Carriers such an important part of the game, it's twice as much a pain. I wish there was some kind of "Auto decide SC" toggle, 50/50, you could change it later, but at least it would save us a lot of micro and time. I assumed with all the new great little

Ya, after getting destroyed by SC, I built 20 flaks to put into my fleet (a large number, being I was playing a small/14 planet map). I could not see them make any difference. Flak almost seems redundent now, as fighters counter SC, and Flak is suppose to also; except it's 1/10th the speed. . . If it stoped the LRM missles, they would have a great nitch in the game; a defencive LRM counter.

I like the way trade ports give you more credits the further apart they "string"; on the other hand, seing 2, 3, even 4 trade ports around a planet seems kind'a cheezy; no diminishing returns, so spamming them is actually good in many cases :NOTSURE:

I played on a small map; had 20 flaks + 12 squads of fighters, still got trounced; the gravity well was black with AI fighters/bombers. But this IS a beta, so I'm glad we get to see this and comment before 1.1. If Flak had like, I don't know, 25% more range, that might go a long way to using them defencively. Or, make them do more damage, but less range; even more defencive. I'm playing my 3rd game today, and I just stopped making flak, and only carriers, but I'm a defencive player,

After playing twice on Hard (and getting trounced, when I usually win), I'd like to get other's opinions on the new strike craft buffs. I think they are great, bombers scare me now, I use to shrug them off. But in the 2 games I played, I made 15 Flack the first time to counter the strike craft; they seemed to do little. So my second game, I made nothing but fighters on my 6 Cap ships, put nothing but anti-strike craft upgrade on them too, plus 20 flack, and the bombers/

Made it to 85%, and then "Download Error" yet again. Sorry Yarlen, but I'm not going to uninstal my "disk" version (which is why I got it in the first place), only to have to download that mega-huge version. I think I'll just wait till both Impulse and 1.1 are out of beta. . .

Same happened here, TWICE; I've spent about 6+ hours today trying to get so-called "No Hassle" Impulse to update my game. Hours of waiting, only to check and see "Download Error" again and again. I have the disk/box, so having to unistal it all, then reinstall/download Gigs of stuff does not sound like an easier/shorter option to me; especially since I also heard some guy's horror story upon doing so.

I checked mine a while ago, it was almost at 50%; then checked it several minutes ago, and it said "Download Error". HOURS of work/waiting erased. Now I'm trying to start over, but it's back to being stuck on "Processing" forever again.

15 Replies 5,012 Views

Here, it stuck for over an hour. Clicking on the Pause/Resume button sometimes "unlocks" it, but only for a couple seconds. Very disapointing.

134 Replies 377,073 Views

Guess I spoke too soon: clicking on the pause/resume button on lets it download like .01% each time (and that's if you wait a minute or two). If you don't keep clicking every 3-5 minutes, it's still stays stuck forever. X-(

15 Replies 5,012 Views

I fixed it! In case other's can't get there's to work also, this is what I did: After trying the "USA 2" server for another 45 minutes, I was about to give up. But as a last resourt, I clicked on the "Pause" button in the bottom right, and then clicked resume; it then stuck on "checking for updates" for a while. I then clicked on "Pause/Resume" again, and the download finally started :D. It still seems to get "stuck" every so often, but clicking on pause/resume seems to give a kick

I'm having the same problem others seem to be having: Impulse installed just fine last night. Showed my Sins version (1.5), and that I was registered (with no expiration date). Anyway, at lunch, I check, and it shows the beta available, so I click on it, and it's been stuck on "Processing, make take several minutes" and also "0/0 Bytes" for 30 minutes now <IMG src="http://images.stardock.com/smiles/Hmm.gif" align=absMiddle

15 Replies 5,012 Views

Wow, I'm really glad you gave instructions on how to use Impulse and get the beta, or I think I would have REALLY had a difficult time doing it. Is it me, or are all those tiny buttons (that almost look like part of the Art/Frame) unintuative?

134 Replies 377,073 Views

In 9 days it will be August, so I'm sure they will either let us know what is going on, OR, release it this week. Either they are alllllmost finished with it, or they hit a huge snag. . .

Well, in my opinion, you can start bye not saying "OMG, The game is so imbalanced", to "I'm just learning". The computer plays by the exact same rules you do, in fact, it's fairly dumb on the easy setting. It does not get cheats (unless you set it to Unfair), and Sins is not your typical RTS, and if you turtle, you'll lose for sure. I'm not aware of anyone in history that played their first time at a brand new game, and had it mastered. . .
