I have a question: If, let's say, your a pirate, and you want to update this game, you just download the patch, right? You don't need a the serial # to do it? I'm 1.4, but I always wondered if it read my email/computer/reistration code before I could download the patch?

Drex, am I reading correctly: You ask teammates to leave because they can't play as good as you (yet)?
Well, technically, I guess there is no copy protection in Sins. BUT, if you've got to register it, with a serial #, and it only allows you two installs (I have 3 computers here, and a laptop makes 4). So that seems pretty "copy protectionisk" to me. . . I still have the Gal Civ II box on my desk; have not been able to play it since I got a new computer (and now a new email, which seems to double the game's insistance that I pirated it). It never entered my mind getting a new computer
Want to hear something odd? The first time I installed Sins on my computer, and ran it, I got the blue screen of death. Then after trying to restart my computer, it could not find the hard drive??? After hours of trying to restart it, it finally "saw" the hard drive, and the computer started again. Out of paranoia, I tried starting/playing several of my other games, which all worked fine. Then I ran Ad-aware, Spy-Bot, and Nortons Antivirus, all which came up negative. So when I tried to pl
Actually, it was partialy serious, as I do usually watch the TV (and yes, even scratch myself occationally) when playing Sins. After 1.4, I do leave the TV off. Truth.
Ya, now I got'a play sober, TV off, concentrate, and stuff like that. Bummer.
For those uncertain, yes, it was a sarcastic compliment to the Devs (I never imagined people would actually think it was serious). And no, of course it's not the best parady written; if I could write better parady, I'd be writting for Konan or Jay, not a forum ;)
I love them; when they are attacking someone else. I hate them when I forget about the bounty, and see they are attacking me. There needs to be a patch-fix: "Toggle, Pirates attack someone else when you forget about bounty".
So, I play my first game vs the AI and the 1.4 patch. I'm playing along, as usual, watching TV and scratching myself, when all of a sudden, the AI attacks me?!?! What the heck! What kind of bug is that! How did it slip past the programmers??? Then, I rush my main fleet to that system (just for appearancens mind you, as it will just run away the moument I warp in). But, it did'nt run??? It fought me??!! This is the WORST glitch I've ever seen the
I just lost my first game to the AI since I was a noob after 1.4. It attacked; it reinforced; it never let up, and just when I thought I "might" have a chance, culture turned one of my best planets. I surrendered. (1v1, random 20 planets, random Unfair AI).
MOO3, OMG, that was nothing but a spread-sheet program. I was waiting for that game for over a year, and when it came out, we actually had a Lan party here (catered). We ended up crying in our beer. What a disaster. And Heroes of Might and Magic 5, looks great, but even after all the patches, not one of my friends or I have ever been able to finish one MP game, lan or online. There should be some kind of law, seriously, the condition some games are released in, if they were cars, the wheel
My other gaming friends have become totaly jaded over the past 10 years (don't ever mention MOO3, HoMM5, and others to them). They don't buy ANYTHING until they read a lot of reviews, play a demo, and THEN, one of us volunteers to buy it, and be the "guiney pig". I was the GP for Sins, and I've reported to them (for the first time in years) a great game, AND, great support :CONGRAT:
Actually putting down people that play 1v1? lol Seriously lol
I have a clock (cost $3.99) right beside my computer. It was an easy way to "patch" every game I have with a clock ;p I think it's great they are putting off 1.04; I can wait a week easily if I know they are testing it. The majority of other game companies don't put off patches because they are testing them, they delay releasing them because they have 1 person working on it for months. . .
Uhhh, actually, my friend and I, who've been playing games probably since you were in diapers, play Civ4 1v1 and 2v2 occationally. We should not have to add multiple AIs to compensate for an AI that has no chance of winning vs a human. The AI beat me my very first game (before I did the tutorials or read the manual). Or should I say, the Pirates beat me my very first game. I've easily won every AI game since, even "Unfair". The AI in 1.03 is better, but it's still only "target pract
My friend downloaded the demo last night, but wrote me today he can't get it to run either. He also has Vist. I'll tell him about the above suggestion.
Company of Heroes, one of the best RTS games I've played in years, had two "races". . .
Only 3 exclamation points!?!?! Ya, what's the problem! All the other RTS's are having 4-5 races :NOTSURE: What a Jip! I'd return the game if I were you ;p
I hope the campain has a "begginer" campain, or perhaps a "tutorial campain". I got a couple friends interested in looking at this game, but since it was one of thems very first RTS"ish" game, he was really thrown into the frying pan trying to learn the game from a skirmish, without the usual gradual learning curve most campains include. As for FA, I agree, FA added and tweaked many things that alway bugged me in the original SC; FA is really just a polished and more balanced SC if y
Is this game even sold in the above stated countries?
I agree about the victory screen. I've never played a RTS for so long each game (a good thing). But I remember getting my first victory, and waiting for the fanfare, or explosions, or music, or "anything", only to see the finger-painting Victory screen pop up in a split seond. It was very anti-climatic after such a long fight.
Seriously, is there a toggle to turn off the voices? Hearing "Ready for action" for EVERY single ship you build is getting on my nerves.
Remember, if you ever get stranded on a planet with a Vasari, and are forced to fight him, make a primative gun out of bamboo, charcoal, sulfur, and diamonds. . . .
ya, I love this game, but would have really loved a SP campain. Most every good RTS like game I have, I've played the SP at least twice. Course, there's a WHOLE lot'a room for an expansion with this game, including a SP campain. But I'm sure the Devs never thought about that, and will include it in 1.5 ;)
In patch 1.4, the Devs are going to change the black market so you can buy Sins at a lower price ;)
