Nope. If you want to play to win with 'quality over quantity' then play WC3 with it's incessant hero micromanagement. This is a 4x game. Economy is over half the game. Action gymnastics is typically how 'quality over quantity' occurs. Pfft. I get the sense that all this anti spam whinery is over the fact that capital ships aren't heroes. No, they aren't. Sorry. Ever play Supreme Commander, Total Annihilation? Now go whine that you're being spammed with Tier 1 tanks. geez.I am a TA player

This is something that the producers are looking at in the next update, but they keep pushing back the date for some reason. For now, deal with it. And if you want something to keep you entertained for a while, hit an astriod near thier home so they bring the fleet back, immediatly head over to the homeworld afterwards, shoot one volley of bombs and watch the battle.

"2) I think we should be able to intercept incoming enemy fleets anywhere along the phase line. We should be able to force them (or they force us) out of the phase - into a fight in deep space, long before the planet is reached" No. No no no no no no no. NO. If we start in deep space, the size of the place will elminate the need for tacticle decisions, and ruin the game. NO.
what does the 8+ civ upgrade do? Increase tax income? You get +8 logic spots per planet so you can build 2 more logics building (IE 2 more mil, 2 more civ, 2 more trade ports, 2 more ore refineries.)It's too good frankly and should just be +4 IMO, but whatever.Advent has a similar tech to get +4 tactical but.. yeah.. that's far from as useful, not worth researching.
Against the computer it rocks, but online, forget it.

The power of the Advent comes from these abilities. Other good ones that can decimate fleets are animosity and vengence, malice combined with other attacks... etc. The Advent's power is based off fleet combos. If you take that away, there goes the ability to win.

Mass effect wasn't exactly short, unless you ran through the game at top speed. Side quests = lots of play time, which = about 20 hours total. The game is absolutly great, and should be bought by every human being on the planet.
I really don't think the Vasari equate to the zerg. Vasari are all about very expensive, but very few ships. I think the closest to the zerg, strategy wise, would be the TEC, they've got the cheapy ships.
Naw. I'm an Sc expert (yes, really ;)) and it's definetly the Advent. The one mind thing works out well with the for the swarm thing with the Zerg. Vasari = protoss and Tec = Terran.

Just a few quick questions I had. 1. Does Malice combine with 1) ruthlessness and 2) Detonate antimatter? So if I did 50 DPS (in theory) with detonate antimatter, would it do 25% more? Or is that only for actual attacks? 2. Is ruthlessness worth it in the short run? I mean, 1.5 isn't that great, though I suppose the range it gives it pretty big.
Enslave Option - in a large multiplayer game, the situation becomes hopeless for one of your unfortunate opponents as your massive fleet arrives at his homeworld. It's more fun for everyone involved to keep as many human players in the game as possible, but you've worked hard to conquer this player. How about an option that allows you to subjugate his empire? You offer the agreement and he has the option to accept. If he does, his units are still under his control but he is unable to

I still think that malice > other abilities. The damage it can bring is immense, even in late game/large fleets, and if you upgrade your first one with a few colony points, it's good economeny AND a deadly combat ability.
You're playing a RTS, when did you not expect people to pull the plug. Seriously, after how many RTS titles did you never encounter this rare creature. The Internets IS Serious Business! The first time this happened to me it was a dialup 14.4k game to my neighbour who always used to quit if your NOD scout bike found his construction yard in C&C before he could build a bunch of turtle turrets. There are a lot of workarounds that have been developed since then that at least acknowledge that
