Oh, I am SO downloading this when it gets out. I clap for you and your ideas good sir! Go! Go and create the mod of your dreams!
Ha. That made me laugh. Although i completely agree. This mod makes me more and more excited with each screenshot. At first i kindof thought it was too much to create a new race and actually do it right but seriously, this looks right on the money. So yeah, I clap for you too, and you should go create the mod of your dreams.

I love my PC. I built it with my own hands; i installed the hardware and the software and got it to work and ironed out the kinks and the problems with pure and utter work. I bought everything out of my own freaking wallet using money from mowing lawns and picking up horse crap (i live on a ranch). I made this computer to play some serious games, and it does. Crysis, all high, dx9, 40fps. So to hear that PC gaming is in such a state of disrepair just....hurts me. Go to IGN.com and read the
-In singleplayer you can accelerate / deccelerate time by pressing the +/- buttons. I'm mentionning it again because this request is coming up a lot even though it was implemented in the v1.02 patch.
Wow. Thank you very much Brad, I really never knew that. I hadn't ever desperately wished that I had it, but now that I know, I shall use it. As for v 1.03, I can not wait. It really does look like an impressive patch and well worth any wait (even though I can't wait, lol
Yeah, I think the whole DRM fiasco with Bioshock was a not insignificant factor in its poor PC sales. OTOH, we have people buying Sins who don't even care about the game, just because we *don't* use DRM.
And i can purely understand! It is simply annoying and degrading in every sense of the word to be called a pirate and a thief after spending 50 bucks on a game, simply because the copyright protection isnt working. That should NEVER happen and there arent any exceptions
These days people care more about the real people behind the games
That seems to be the trend these days. People aren't being ignored as much; everyone from Publishers to Writers to Coders and designers are getting in the spotlight. I think it is due in part to this information age we are in, with the internet and all. Even simple Modders for games like Crysis and the Elder Scrolls series are getting huge hype simply because people are seeing what they are doing and ar

Holy crap, lol, this thread has gone haywire. But anyways, I at first really didnt want an upgrade to any of the ships in Sins, but now after seeing that Garda and the LRM frigate....wow....great job on those. I can't wait to get my hands on them. I moatly play as the TEC just because i enjoy the underdog so some new ship models sound rather appitizing right about now.
After Bioshock, i refuse to buy ANY game that has any DRM issues. I can tolerate DRM if it doesn't spy on me or have a whole host of issues not allowing legit people to play. I do not care how great the game is, i will not buy it if it has DRM issues and if the company goes under i won't be shedding any tears for them. As a consumer you speak with your wallet, what i say is no more crummy console to PC ports and no more crappy DRM.
Dude, i feel ya. Bi
it can be mighty confusing for people.
Amen to that. Well thanks Hollow Man for the insight into the confusion that often develops around the gaming industry with all of these companies. I have been an avid gamer since i was old enough to hold a controller (super nintendo) and still have trouble figuring out what is going on. Hell, back in the day all there was was playstation and nintendo 64 to me. Now there is.....so much more....lol. thanks.

Stardock will hopefully start a revolution. No copyright protection, for some reason or another, has won the respect of the vast majority of video-game pirates out there. I say congrats Stardock because honestly, who would have thought that it would work. Plenty of folks know that the video game theft is a load of crap and just an excuse for people not wanting to overheat their graphics cards on ultra-uper-infinately textured and modeled games. Given, anyone could get online and find this ga
Don't you mean Ironclad or is Brad working on the AI/patch?
First off, who is Brad? and is it Stardock working on the patch or Ironclad? I have no idea, lol, i just assumed that it was Stardock.
Selling so many copies means they should have more funding to IMPROVE the game even more...
good point.

As for the "story driven mission game," i believe that it was stardock's intention for you to make up your own story with Sins. They gave you the backstory and history, and it is your job to go ahead and figure out what happens. As for the missions, yes, they are kinda linear and not being able to refuse them is annoying as hell, but if you think about it, refusing is kind of the same thing as ignoring, lol. If you refused, it would about piss them off as much as if you ignored them

Reply to Gas Giants in Strategy

to your first issue with gas giants. There is a mod, i believe by the name of "Sins Plus" or something that allows you to colonize gas giants like you would any other planet (with a few differences of course) by the use of colony ships.

As far as i am concerned, Stardock can take as long as they want (within limits). It just seems to me like they have worked their asses off since the game was released and kept everyone happy, so (unlike with some other companies), i am confident that the patch will come at a good time when it is well done and ready and thats that. btw, Stardock, if you read this, congrats on the 100,000 copies figure. Hell of a feat to outsell COD4 and Valve's box of orange, lol.

I think the textures need more work than anything. But for the record, i think all of the ships are well-made and reflect what their jobs are. yes, even that Kodiak tank thing. Besides, having them less pretty is better for your frame-rate during those big-ass fleet battles. I am sure we would all be pissed if Stardock pulled a crytek and made everything too pretty for anyone to run, so lets all just be happy that the game is as pretty as it is while running as good as it does.

i read up above about outposts. That would be awesome. They could be formidable defensive forts that you can build anywhere along a phase lane connected to a planet that you have settled. Similarly, i think it would be just awesome to be able to plant fleets in mid-phase space for ambushes on unsuspecting invaders between planets. That would really make people send out scouts every time they phrase jumped in fear of getting butchered in some horrible ambush situation. Ah, the things that th

Dirigible, i am with you. I have been playing this game for hours every day since i bought it a couply days after launch and have no idea how to get it, or even what the hell it is. I want to know simply out of curiosity; not that i actually give a damn about any achievment. But i will be fair and keep trying to find it myself!

Hell, i am used to playing games that are quicker like age of empires, star craft, c&c generals, battle for middle earth, some red alert now nad then, as well as other 4x like rome total war and it's medieval counterpart. I never enjoyed long games either, but then this game came out. I have been playing the same damn game for days now. I have had the game on about 10 hours a day for the past 3 days, playing on a custom map that is simply freaking massive with about 20 some stars and a couple

Dude. First off, are you putting money on other player's heads with the pirates, because if you are, they should be leaving you alone altogether and beating the hell out of everyone else. Second, make them easy opponents that have an economic or defensive strategy option (when selecting them), that way they won't be so damn aggressive. Third, play on a huge map with lots of planets, that way you have a long while to build up research and forces before the AI comes knocking at your door with a
