Lets all just admit it. Although I personally enjoy having a hardcopy (and thus buy at stores), there are justifiable reasons for downloading games illegally: 1.) This game ain't worth 50 bucks but you still want to play that cool beachhead level. Well, that level sure is worth a 2 day download at least! 2.) I have no idea if this is going to work on my computer and there isn't a demo and i don't want to buy the damn thing so I will get it for free and

as always, your work is fantastic. the mine layer looks awesome and the new texture for the cruiser is suiting. i agree that the tiled metal look suits it more. it just looks right. you got it right on. it is so insanely alien-ish....and i suppose christian....looks like stained glass....but yeah...it looks spectacular. lol. and the mines themselves. the concept sounds spot on. i never could understand why the hell Stardock/Ironclad never put mines in the game. it just seems like they w
If you want to kill Xin, you have to shoot them dead. They are a bit too advanced for Holywood tricks like viruses and, khm, computer hacks (he who guesses the name of the movie I am referring to first will get in the credits)
Independance Day? lol. We got the drop on the aliens with computer viruses in that flick. strange movie. but anyways, i am damn thankful that you will not be adding computer warfare here, lol. i enjoy explosions and laser blasts a lot more than

i agree with petsta's idea. construct ships (if possible to do without full mod tools) should be able to build at least the small ships. for example, you could carry a few consturction ships along with the attack fleet to replace smaller units that are destoryed during conquest. that is a good idea. For example, in Starcraft, as the zerg, i always took along a few drones when i was on the attack so when i gained some ground, i could build a hatchery and spit out some new troops from a closer l

well ManSh00ter, the new ship looks amazing, but that is what i have come to expect. i am wondering if Sins is even going to look the same once your through modding the hell out of it. Everything is going to look like it got an extra year in development by ironclad/stardock. i seriously cannot wait. i am more excited to play this mod than i am with most games. (with possible exceptin of mass effect PC, which comes out FREAKING WEDNESDAY!!) okay, i digress. peace.

I think i will enjoy playing as the xin because i am definately a turtler; in every damn game i play. i would much rather sit around and wait to strike than constantly attack. battle stations will be a very, very welcome addition to SINS and something that should have been included originally. btw, thanks for putting those new pictures up there with the others. keep up the good work, looking forward to another update.

There is splash damage in the game already? huh...didnt know that. and ManSh00ter, your "cramped style" is still better than anyone's "uncramped style," lol, so don't worry about not being able to provide a few other cool additions with your god-mod due to the unavailable full mod tools. ur doin' fine the way it is, lol. i'd like this mod to take less than a month to download at 350k/s, lol. looking forward the next update. im going to go play some grand theft auto now. damn game is ta
So it really comes down to which style one prefers.
these are space ships. these are space ships with reactors strong and efficient enough to send it into lightspeed time and time again. the engines use anti-matter to do crazy stuff. so, if one of these ships gets shot too many times by a few too many lasers, i expect it to go freaking BOOOOOOOOM!!!! as all sorts of things in the reactor cores in the engines go critical and unimaginable, almost impossible reactions begi

The explosions are going to rock. i can say that with cirtainty. i await them eagerly. the more complex, the better. and i do hope that ironclad throws you modding folks a bone and releases the full mod tools. the wide range of modifications that will blossom will be staggering. I, personally, have no idea how to mod games, but cirtainly love them and enjoy a good burst in mod content. so For those about to mod. fire. I salute you.

holy good god, i just watched the explosion video on youtube, wow man, i actually felt like a spaceship was blowing up, lol, which is new for me.
Nah, Bss he isnt an IC employee, he is just the one guy single-handedly beating them to this games expansion pack... in the form of a free mod
as for this comment, i say this: "no kidding," i say with complete honesty, that i hope the actual expansion for this game is as good as this mod! and that is saying a lot. i hav

...ManSh00ter...if your really an ironclad employee pulling our leg, and this is actually v1.1 of Sins we are seeing, its time to fess up...lol, its THAT good. but anyways, i agree with the aerodynamics of the space craft. in space, no air = no air resistance = cool ships that make no sense being inside of an atmosphere. its for reasons like this that i have never caught onto the existence of real flying saucers....i think to myself....why the hell would those little green homies build 'saucers'
life is discontinuous and so is science/knowledge.
but would that make a good video game? what is a game based on chance developments on random planets? more luck would be involved than skill, and then you would just have Neverwinter Nights. this is the entire purpose behind balancing. (unless i am mistake as to what you mean by that post)
Things like that do happen! With DoW Soulstorm, the Sisters of Battle was originally a mod in progress but the mod team was hired to make the sisters of battle into the game! So if you like the Sisters of Battle then thank the skill of independant modders!
well hell, look at counterstrike! some great things have come from modders; things that are known throughout the gaming world. maybe this will be one of them. maybe ironclad will give you a ring sometime, lol. but a

dude...oh my god...awesome...it baffels me that there are such talented graphic artists out there that don't work in the gaming industry. this is the only mod for any game i have ever seen that is truly living up to its expectations. wonderful job on that ship. it will be one of the coolest ships in Sins, bar none.

i think this would just make things too complicated. yes, it would be cool at first, but then it would just get in the way, and would become frustrating that you may have to wait 20 minutes until the planets aline to move forward or back, etc. sometimes simple is better. i consider Sins a prime example of such a thing.

hey man, sounds good to me. your making it, so you make it the way you want. i am sure regardless of what you create (as with all of the Xin craft we've seen), it is going to have one hell of an "ohshit" factor. i look forward to anything you throw into the fight, trust me. but enough about titans, eh? how's the Xin coming along. they are the main star of this mod unless i am mistaken.

1,794 Replies 4,167,995 Views

titans should kick butt, not fix butt. i see a titan as a flagship; something that is terrifying to see coming your way. i honestly wouldnt be so scared of a robotics titan....Historically, all of the largest vessels of any navy were combat oriented. Even today's aircraft carriers are still meant for war; to send out death and destruction rather than deal it personally. Everything from the Bismark of Germany, to the HMS Victory of England, to Darth Vader's Super Star Destoyer were all kickass

ManSh00ter man, lol. this is what i am imagining. I have my fleet waiting on a defensive asteroid, knowing that the enemy Xin will be attacking soon. Then my psidar picks up a fleet coming in 2 planets away. I zoom in to get a look at what they are sending and i see a titan. OH CRAP!! I quickly send away 160 of my 200 ship main fleet to the next planet away. My other 40 ships go out and greet the titan when it arrives. The Xin player think that he just met up with my undersuppli
Currently this is just an idea, but I am toying with tying titan production to very high levels of a certain capital ship, instead of making it a standard building procedure.
you know, i agree with Jarquafelmu above. in many smaller, faster games i don't ususally get my capital ships all too high in level. In long, epic battles, however, this mechanic would be necessesary in order to stop people from gathering huge resources and building a load of them before an
AMAZING!!! When I see the models of your ships I think of the covenant ships from Halo. When you finish you should think about doing some modeling for a Halo mod.F-ing sweet
you know, as cool as it would be to do this, and possibly even control Halo's themselves, and all sorts of other stuff. most of the halo universe is based on cool ground combat between covenant forces and marines. i am not sure if it would add up to be very fun, or if there is enou
