Personally I never did like the way Pirates were implemented in the game, so I always play with the Pirates off. Attacks should be small scale hit you when your down with high success rate for them. The way they are in the game is more like Mercenaries and even that is open for discussion.
From an Admin standpoint it's NOD32 (ESET) with Kaspersky a close second. I would rate these two at the top of the game. For me, I want an AV product that doesn't create more problems. Both these products have small footprints and behave themselves, not causing more issues.
User manual say's that you are allowed to use the same copy on two computers for LAN play.
My son and I play SoaSE on our local LAN alot, have a TS2 server setup. He loves to play Coop and crush opponents, remember you can save the game when it's time for the kiddies to hit the sack.
What's the Event Log say? I've only managed to crash this game using ATI Tray Tools overlays & Xfire, hardly the game at fault. This game has been rock solid for me. I'd suggest you do more research, to me it sounds like your having other issues. If the original game crashes, I'm pretty sure patching won't fix it. So, before stomping up and down let's take a breathe and give us some real details to fix it. Start with the event log & then your dxdiag.

Using v1.5 my son and I had a sync error lastnight, it's been awhile since this has happened. This game was a LAN game on a HP Procurve Gig network. Will give this one a try tonight on a local LAN.

I've been told by Stardock support that only the CE editions at Walmart have the MyColors Theme. Since I bought my copy of CE at EB Games, I'm not entitled and I'll have to purchase it. So the initial post needs to be modified.

Hola, Was playing my son via LAN with v1.5, Kronac's Cross, Pirate's Inactive everything else set to normal. We are playing Advent on Team 1 versus Random for Team 2 & 3. Using Teamspeak to communicate with headsets. He call's out to me that my Progenitor is about to get crushed by and attack and I check the Asteriod that I'm at and it's clear, he continues to insist I'm gonna die, so I get up and check his computer. Symantec can be a pain to get rid of on a system. How about a good cleaning? Have you ever run NoSav? I have to use it at the office, since we used to have Symantec Corporate and that product does not uninstall very well. I'd suggest downloading CCleaner and running a full system scan. Uninstall AVast, install v2.7 of NOD32 (Private me on this one), boot to safe mode and do a full system scan with the modified config.xml that I can send you. Boot back to Normal mode and run XP
