Exactly. One man or womans favorite "insert anything here" is anothers "omg imba imba OP imba 1v1 me anyday imba".
having read this threads new responces i think that its a brilliant show of why a dreadnought wouldnt work, its too complicated to work into the game
Not that complicated. As someone previously said, their already in the game, starbases. Even if "one per empire" type stipulation can't be added in, it's cost in fleet supply could be adjusted so that for the price of 4-500 FS and the inability to have 4-6 extra caps means you would
What i would like to see is more divergence in the three factions. New ships should be different for each faction with no analogues. For example rather then everyone having a long range frigate with different stats and abilities how about a new type of ship that no other faction has at all. I definitely like the new diplomacy options the game needs its especially for the genre it strives to be in. I think what
well, for one, I'd like the ai keep its thougnness even, if I am declared winner, but want to continue. I mean I'm not sure I ever will do that, but fighting on against an enemy that stops building stuff and leaves everything on autocommand? what's the use of that? the other thing: I heard some comments about the ai surrendering too early, i.e. when its fleet was still intact and it had several planets under its control. assuming the a
With a bit of help from google I was able to get to the actual site, but I'm still a bit confused as to what is actually part of 2.0 and whats still to be added in. Perhaps a new thread for 2.0 if the main title is so hard to edit? Or maybe a post with big bold, red letters followed by the readme of 2.0 in here so it's easy to spot?
Any plans on bringing it to entrenchment?
it's ungodly slow, meaning you need to construct it right on the front line or its gonna be 10 minutes just getting to the enemy system, takes 8-10 minutes just to build Except this would give a HUGE advantage to Vassari - they could build phase stabs... And since they can afford this ship, they can definately afford to seed their empire with some at strategic locations to enable their fleet to roam....
Just make it so the
I would prefer to see more smaller ships myself. A capture frigate, a dedicated mine sweeper, a ramming ship, a cloaking frigate that has the embargo ability but can only use it when not cloaked. Some kind of ship that can be used to maybe establish a phase lane, either it can open a phase lane for a limited amount of time, or you need two ships, one at the destination and one at the origin point. A cruiser that has no weapons at all, just huge amounts of shields and armor and a force attack
One of the diplomacy options that would be cool would be a "give me X cap ship" or "Give you X cap ship". I can just imagine a Kol leading a fleet of illumies. Yeah! I like the idea of tributes. Perhaps even planets could be handed over in exchange for alliance.
Yeah, I thought of that one too, but what about the structures? Are they destroyed? Do they convert to your race specific structures? Or do they stay the same a
Nah! Just a curtain number of ships or deffencive structures. I'd like to think that IC. and Stardocks involving the community in beta testing is pretty good at the moment, and that there is'nt that much to fix with Entrenchment. There is no doubt a few things, but maybee alot less than with vanilla. Hope so anyway. Still, I think the Dev's deserve some time to kick back for a while after all thier hard work .
Currently the Vasari scout is the only ship with a cloak that I know of. And to my knowledge its not a true cloak, the enemy can still see you, just cant hit you. The problem with cloaking is you just know someones gonna scream imba the minute they even announce it, or state their thinking about looking into it. Making it balanced will be a bear for them as well. A idea I had for a cloaked ship would be a frigate with no weapons, all it does is capture enemy ships. The enemy ships shields wou
Do they ever ask you to target specific capital ships? That'd make a cool mission.
Not that I've ever seen, just "kill X amount of ships/structures"
If you were gonna do the super ship thing, I would def want it to be the end all of end all. Your only allowed 1, you need ALL the military techs, you need ALL the fleet cap techs, it's ungodly slow, meaning you need to construct it right on the front line or its gonna be 10 minutes just getting to the enemy system, takes 8-10 minutes just to build. Cap ships are already extremly powerful now. Some ppl say their underpowered but the only thing I see them underpowered against is SC spam.
I just love it when an AI is about halfway with you in regard to "liking" you and then they ask you to complete a task.....that involves you killing trade vessels....of an emprie you have yet to have contact with....and do not know where the hell they are in the map.
Even better, they ask you to kill your allies vessels.
Quoting FearlessDefiance, reply 4 A all around end game frigate would be nice. You mean like Heavy Cruiser...
No, I dont think so. IMO once it's end game, most of the ships other then caps, lr, and carriers are useless. I suppose they could be given more tech upgrades that aren't shared with caps but I like variety.
Heavy Cruisers as they are now are (or seem to me IMO) weak. These are supposed to be the final step to a capital yet a capital can take 3-4 of them on, with no support of it's own, while the heavies have a few supporting ships as well. A heavy shouldn't be able to take out a cap, but it should at least be able to let it know it was in a fight. Btw, thats with no upgrades to any of the ships and the cap at lvl 1.
Oh frell us all.
Theres also the fact that steam had suggested pre-orders could pre-download so it would be up and running by the actual launch time, which didnt actually happen. Thank god I'm getting a boxed copy. Edit: Really bummed out to hear about the loading times, it's a complete turn off for me. But I'm sure they'll fix that since so many people complained about it for the demo.
Personnaly, before getting bigger ships i would like more small ones to pad the fleet. Something like a combat frigate and a battle cruiser. Combat frigate : An heavy frigate that is meant for the front line, something that is tough, can dish damage and don't need to be replaced all the time. Reason : I find the basic frigate to die way too quickly to be useful in later game. Battle cruiser : A cruiser that has the firepower t
No, its the AI who's sinning, lol I never break a alliance or peace treaty, THEY DO!!! I just have 5 or 6 nova's aimed indirectly at their planets lol [e digicons][/e]
Yeah, the AI in this game is weird. Played my first MP game 2v2 unfair AI's, comp gave up after I was sitting above his homeworld and my ally was moping up some of his first planets, I didnt even understand what had happened, it was the first time I had a AI surrender to me. Played a 1v1 with a AI after that, I was able to bum rush his homeworld before he could colonize anything (he tried to get a desert planet, but I beat him to it [e digicons]:D[/e] ) and just sat there bombing him till he
More planet types. See the mod Sins Plus for a great example. Terraforming would be a great option, costs a hell of a lot but you get all kinds of added bonuses for it. Terraform a Terran planet into a paradise planet, extractors get a increase, log and tac slots increase.Maybe add a chance for terraforming to go wrong and your terran planet becomes a desert, adds to those hard choices. More artifacts would be good too. Added Diplomacy, love the artifact research treaty idea Deflagrat
Yeah, Diplomacy is horrid in this game, thats why I normally just lock teams. Your gonna spend time trying to make a ally only for them to turn on you anyway, why bother, just add yourself a ally and lock the teams.
I would like to see some more frigates and cruisers. A all around end game frigate would be nice. The ones you start with just dont seem to be worth much, even upgraded.
Just a thought on the deathstar, couldn't it be made to be made like the vasari ult weapon, or the TEC one, just up the dmg so it wipes out any size colony? The TEC one damages planets, but I think the vasari one damages ships in structures, maybe if they could be combined?
