Tests, pfft. I wont play mind games to beta test, it isn't THAT important to me. I wanted equality on this situation, yes the same issues would be spammed in an open beta, but oh well. You see a thread, notice it's the same, and ditch it. Five seconds of your time wasted. Yet EVERYONE gets to have their fun, and pitch in as much as possible. I just don't like a lottery, it's not fair. Real life may not be fair, but this isn't real life. It's a game, and there's NOTHING to stop it from being fair
i dont think it matters if they do a lottery or open beta either way in the end you all get to play the mod its not like your not going to play it at all. plus when you have an open beta alot a spam occurs when it comes to reporting errors or glitches...plus i bet there has been ppl that have been with the mod since the start but when the come up with an idea it gets posted before they can post it. so just cuz u posted dosent give you the right or anyone that has posted alot and had ideas
I'm kinda surprised no one commented on the use of Mass Effect music in the trailer. The use of Reaper music was EPIC, nice idea. The music blended sooooo perfectly with the Xin, really made the trailer godly.
hey back off leave this to Canadaman777 and Cptkeyes they're the ones in charge and it would probably be a bad thing to annoy them alot.
I for one don't agree with any sort of "lottery" myself. I mean how is it fair to people like myself, or Heaven, who've been with this mod since the beggining. Helping in any way we can. And then the guy who comes in and goes "I'll beta test!" has just as much chance of betaing as those who've actually tried to help? Doesn't sit right wi
just so y'all know we are thinking of releasing when i finish texturing the heavy frigate
Sounds awsome. Did you guys remodel the destroyer so you can actually tell it's not a frigate without zooming in and compareing the two side by side? D:
Would they not be balanced due to the fact they are identical; so would be killing each other at the same rate.
They allways behave differantly when fighting each other if not balanced. What will work excelent against the Covies, may be far too overpowered against a human player, or too underpowered, or something.
I was wondering, but will factions be balanced against themselves? Like, will humans be able to fight humans? And covie v covie? Or will like, human weapons kill human ships too easily cuz they aren't balanced? Would be nice to have like a human civil war, or covie civil war scenerio.
sounds good to me either way nobody really scrolls all the way down to the level of a fighter
I do :( That's why I allways found it amusing how a fighter did like, 2 dmg, but get 10 squads and you can kill a frigate in one strafing one. They're bees man! BEES!
Just give Seraphs like, a quarter more HP as Longswords and pretend they have shields. Seraphs didn't have very strong shields, and were easily dispatched by Longsword missiles ANYWAYS, so them having shields doesn't really matter.
You can also see a Seraph fly past the window in Halo 2, when Master Chief is about to take the bomb to the covie ship. It's being chased by two Longswords and you can see that it flies with it's forks facing back.
uh colt the seraphs are running notice how they are peeling away in turns?
If it was an animation, probably. But in a still image, not really.
Here are two brand new models i just finished hope you like them.btw if you need a seraph try the one in the upper link.http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b21cd923814143a93355040f956bbe42http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=1cb0babfdc8a28773355040f956bbe42
Heaven, your Seraph is flying backwards in the second pic. Seraphs fly with the dome side forward, and the forks back. Unless it's running from them? o.O
we know thanks hawks but colt the covenant where masters of plasma the ship weapons are nothing like there in the field counterparts
Plasma is plasma, and master or not, it will dissipate. And I don't think Seraphs have the magnetic locks that the big ships had for their torps. So I'd imagine a Seraphs fireing range wouldn't be all that great.
the size of the longsword has already been scaled new subject auto cannons for point defense on the unsc ships low range so if a fighter gets really close hes f'ed plus will add to teh effect
Well, unlike their UNSC counterparts, Seraphs don't have missiles and can only shoot plasma. So I'd reckon they'd have to get pretty close otherwise the plasma would dissipate. If possible, put an accuracy meter on it. So like, it CAN shoot really far, it just wont hit squat
What are you guys doing with the mod now, anyways? I mean..... before it was just, when atleast some of the UNSC ships were done (Frigate, destroyer, marathon, halcyon) were done, you were gonna release a sort of mini-alpha mod. Is that changed or what?
CanadaMan777 will quietly notify the chosen beta testers
Which is pretty easy to guess who'll they'll be, considering he's stated it's an open beta. <.<
Actually Colt, you can wlk around on one in the Halo 3 level, The Ark
Really? Sweet. Was it still the same size or did they scale it down? I'm guessing they scaled it down since putting a ship with the wingspan of a Boeing 747 on their map would seem a bit.... excessive.
Well Aridias, the Longswords ingame don't ever look that big, but we've never really gotten good looks at them, they've allways been god knows how high in the air. The only time we got a good look at one was on the first Halo, and that thing easily had the wing spand of a Boeing 747, and I prolly shoulda phrased that better. It said it had the wingspan of a 747 but was about half the length, which it seemed like compared to the Flood. I also looked at a size chat and it'd prolly take 15-20 longs
During the whole Longsword weapon arguement, I realized something else. Longswords are really fucking big. It said they're like the size of a Boeing 747. And so compared to most UNSC ships (All cept maybe big cruisers and caps) they'd be pretty big. So, maybe we shouldn't do the whole Sins squad thing and infact make each Longsword it's own individual fighter, or at most put a squadron of 2-3. Since they'd be a lot more visible, and much bigger, it'd just seem odd to have flights of 5-7. <br
It may be easier, but the easy road isn't allways the right road. There is NO mention of a dedicated bomber, and a dedicated fighter, on either side. Both sides use one, multi-role starfighter. The Seraph for the Covies, the Longsword for the UNSC. I allways just assumed I'd let them lose and they'd attack whichever targets they wanted, much as it is in Sins. but if it's that big of a deal, why not just add two buttons that toggle them. "Anti-fighter screen" and "Bombing runs". If you select the
yea true but if it was 12v12 the covies would win easily we are trying to keep it 3 to 1 if i disagree with that stament if it was just sitting there it would not have them cause if a fire broke out those missiles would be very bad to have there missiles are always secured until being prepped
I'm just saying, in small fleet engages, 12 v 3 or something, the battle should be over quick. And fire isn't a big risk for warheads. I mean even when not loaded they aren't stored
I read the books years ago, I don't have perfect memory. Also, if the Longsword has bullets, it has missiles. Infact, a Longsword would ALLWAYS have missiles if it's on active duty (Meaning not being repaired or anything, just sitting there.) So they can launch on a moments notice. In relation to Sins, Longswords in the hangars, or ships, would allways be stocked as they're meant to be called on at a moments notice. As for it saying they were rubbish against Seraphs, I said that before
funny the halcyon cruiser acts just like the kol o wait thats because it is the kol with a diffrent mesh dont fool your self this is sins with a halo look nothing more nothing less we can not change how the units act in game jusst make it look like haloI don't think you can give me even one example of someone choosing to use an inferior weapon, and tactic, when a superior weapon and tactic was sitting at their finger tips. It's like throwing a rock at a tank when you have a perfectly good
none of the TEC fighters had lasers colt that had auto cannonsalso UNSC prowlers had pulse lasers
A singular ship that was never mass produced isn't an affective counter to my sarcastic mocking of Keyes' comparison. Regardless, the point was that Sins is Sins, and isn't Halo. And comparing how units from each universe behave is just flat out foolish. A Sins ship wont act like a Halo ship, it's fact. They're two completely seperate universes, each with their own laws. Whil
well im just gonna say thank god colt isnt a fighter pilot thats is i wouldd put the greater good of earth before my personal well being also like i said before look at sins what des the fighter shoot OMG look its a machine gun and the do alot of damage not to mention in sins all the fighters get really close to each other and makeing them shoot a missles that the other cant evade so pretty mush a one shot kill dosent add to battle esthetics's cause i dont want to see hundreds of streak
