I think that no mather what they add, the should at least increase some of the lore in this game, so that it plays a larger part, then being 5 pages that we can just read out of a book as background story. But here some ideals. First as it stands right now there are no non-military victories. So only ships can jump between sta rbases? And the phase stabilizer on the star base, does it replace the normal phase stabilizer and act just like it? Can I call in thew Dark fleet for a star base, just like the normal Phase Stabilizer? Is the old Phase Stabilizer still in the game? Thanks printmiles , that answers my question on the capital carriers. I see then just increased the supply points for the Cruiser Carrier to make up for the increase in the number of squadrons for the Cruiser Carrier. I went to ign.com and found some more information on the star bas, here it

Your ideal sound a lot like how you build ships in Sword of the stars. here is the link for you to see. http://sots.rorschach.net/ But lets go back to your ideal of custom capital ships. First of the dev. seemed to make the capital ships along the lines of the heros form warcraft 3. They kill something, warcraft 3 kills people and Sins of a Solar empire kills ships. Form these killings they gain exp, which increase there level.

I don't think that most people are asking for an uber ship, but for a capital ship that is just that a capital ship. Like I said before, almost all the capital ships in the game are over sizes support cruisers, even the battleships. I did a test on the ships and found that in order to to even come close in terms of 4 heavy cruisers (i.e. 48 support points) you need your battleship[ to be around level 4 and 5. This would of been o.k. if it was around levels 1, 2 or 3 , but 4 and 5? The fact is

Last time I checked, "or" normal means mutually exclusive. You with us "or" against us. Its one "or" the other. Which normal means to me that it is mutually exclusive. But I do understand your point. May be Darvin 3 there all one and the same. May be the unity is an utopian society, because they have an mind-controling regime. I think that the main reason, that the dev don't add more lore, is because they would have a hard time producing a red, blue and green faction infomation, over the normal black or white. Most good rts factions are more like different shades of evil the good vs evil. This makes it so that ever one does not play the good faction only with a few with the evil faction. You hate them all ,but there is one that you hate less then the others, or looks more white to you.

To answer your question wooky325, you can see it in the into to the game. It is some phase based system that overloaded and is now destroying everthing from the point of the lab out words. It could be called a "phase bomb" or a weapon who's explosion moves along the phase lanes. Therefore any place you could jump to, would be destoryed in time, an would look like some super forces was coming after you.

So this means, that unless there is a form, of natural FTL out their, or we find a really powerful energy sources, that can force up wormholes, then we will see no-FTL space warfare, right? Is there any reason, to use coil guns and lasers together, as they produces heat and require power from the ship. Having them both would reduce energy faster, and produce a lot of heat faster, then a coil gun and missile system, or an laser and missile system.

Carbon016, do you see any reason, to use coil guns and lasers together? As they both need energy from the ship, and produce waste heat for the ship. I mean, your going to heat up your ship faster if you use them together, instead of using a missile system and one or the other.
