Ok, wow. I bought this for my girlfriend and we just auto-disconnect through ICO. This is a little surprising.

Rushing in this game is pretty slow anyway, I haven't had any problems with it. With other RTS titles, early rushes are about 50% of why not to bother playing online.
The Bored Sins Trolls' Diary,
This was great. Just wanted to add, "Dear Devs your game is cool, I like it a lot." Your friend in time, "Doc" Emmett L. Brown
That was way cooler than what I'd expected. If you see fit, I'd love a history of famous forum slapfights.
Yeah this game's pretty cool all right.
Was your game recorded on July 29th, 2147?! Gonna give it a watch :)
I think I know what you mean, though I want different for games. Remember before the Big Boom and games didn't subscribe so narrowly to genre? Nowadays they're very restricted in terms of their outlook, and with the importance of graphics, their resources can only go so wide. Basically what I want is a game with as broad a scope as at least a few types. In some phases you're 3rd person shooting, in some phases you're flying a spacecraft, and in some
I wandered in here thinking, "this might just be the creepiest-" and then read what it's really about. That might be too cute. :D
I don't even regret clicking on it, that's how bored I am
Early in the game I use 4 Cobalts and if I'm trying to take down a big neutral target, I'll throw in 3 Javelins, along with whatever capital ship I choose. I haven't found one that stands firmly above the rest, in early game, but I like the Marza. (Is that its name? The one with the radiation / incendiary shells.) By the end of the early game I've got 3 robot repair ships, 6 javelins and 10 cobalts, along with sometimes a flak frigate. Those, in junct
I like the animated Modders one, that's clever.
I guess those are some curvy ships, but I didn't think all the angles would be sacrificed.
Actually it's "Ad astra", that means "to the stars". The advent use a lot of faux Latin (or interpretative Late Latin), conjugated for feminine endings. Most of the TEC and Advent names are cognitive, but I can't think of any Vasari craft off-hand that use the same standard. Ankylos is an old type of Greek armor used in Corinth (I think?) or Rhodes... they also had siege engines which were ankyloids, meaning armored and heavy. Cobalt is also
TEC's flimsy but cheap, Advent are buff-supported strikers and Vasari are slow to get going, but hit like a freight train once they're ready. I haven't played Starcraft in at least ten years, so at best I'd say TEC are zerg, Advent is Confederacy and that leaves Vasari as protoss. It's a thin comparison at best, but this game only relates to Starcraft distantly.
Posts like this made me go on trolling rampage.
It's hit or miss with me, here. On the more mainstream games like Diablo, these threads are a smorgasbord. But why don't I play along with my thoughts on the issues: 1) I don't get the corvette thing, and maybe I'm just ignoring them for being marginally advantageous early on. What worked before them still works, so I don't care
I like what I see of the Cerberus station. And I can't say how much I want a proper Mass Effect mod for this game. There's plenty of space to stretch your arms with, the games' story arcs barely scratched the surface of the setting's depth.
mwhahaahahaha I knew it was OP before everyone else /hipster glasses
Priceless.
Its just like how people think TAR is OP
Same thought here. Players are going to exploit one mode of play or another, and yeah it makes online an irritating venture. I can't think of an RTS in which I've seen every player perform as the game most clearly intended. There's always some eye-rolling trick they can't help but deploy. When I had this strategy used against me by a VL player,
May I just say this is an awesome mod? After playing Entrenchment Requiem, this is an enormous improvement. The graphics are great and I like what I see for the ships so far (granted it's just the Empire at the moment). In the Entrenchment mod the ships struck me as too small. As much as I do love what you guys have adopted from other Lucasarts titles (did I hear an X-Wing Alliance pilot? :D ), I do wish that in the Entrenchment version hadn't been so t
Wow thank you. I was wondering whether Rebellion would get a Star Wars treatment anytime soon. I'm gonna give this a try when I'm back home from work.
Late-game, just send your titan into the pirate base and watch it gain levels.
Hoh yeah this is fun. Do this, if they're like level five or over. You might need to babysit them (retreat into a safe zone before returning, keep them out of a big patch of turrets) but it's not likely.
Troll status ought to be revoked if they walk straight into really obvious lures.
I have similar problems, it's not just with The Advent Rebels at all. Sometimes only the fighter/bombers, sometimes frigates and capital ships included. I chalked it up to shortcomings of the engine - not being able to process a high number of protocols - but now that I think of it, I don't remember it before Rebellion.
There are a few replacements I know of, but I probably have the exact opposite taste as you. The TEC look good to me, the Advent look like goofy cartoons and the Vasari look like they're trying too hard to be menacing.
