I believe this has something to do with the way in which they are created in the game initially, but let me explain. I actually agree with this, First thing I did for my own personal play version was to do whatever possible to restrict the "Fast re-build and spam" factor that sins has. There is one problem that I can see with his method and I had already attempted the same thing when Major Stress approached me with this issue. The problem isnt in getting the "Phase Cloak" ability to do what you want when altered, the problem is...... that Major Stress wanted the ships to be completely visable when traveling at warp. We altered the ship names in Our SoA 2 Fan demo. It is easy, they are in the string file and even labeled for the races: StringInfo ID "IDS_CAPITALSHIPNAME_TECH13" Value "USS Potemkin" See, so just go into the string file and alter them.
The Vasari buildings go invisible when being attacked, its called being phased out & it is the same thing that is applied to the ships during Warp/Phase Jump. Applying that effect to a ship ability that still allows the ship to move should be simple enough. The problem is that we removed the transperancy from the ships during warp, which also happens to be the same file used by the cloaking effect. So as it stands right now in my test the ships should be going invisible,
I agree whole-heartedly with Danman, This was a tough blow to take. But I would like to say something & I dont want it to sound like I am pleading for the mod's survival, but I still need to say it... Taking into consideration the last decade of Trek Gaming both in actual game releases & mods I can safely say, (at least for myself) that this mod has been the best trek game I have ever played. Even the limitations that you cant seem to correct or ignore

I have already tried this, but for the sake of the arguement I just tried again & it still randomized the starting location. I tried changing the team index to everything from 1-9 and set the appropriate teams in-game (accounting for the fact that team index 0 is actually team 1 in-game) no matter what I changed it to the starting locations were still randomized. I have been able to mess around with some stuff and I have come up with a few interesting things, As an example, I created an ability for one of my ships called "Fire-At-Will" which is basically an altered Volley Fire, but it takes power away from the engines (-200% engines +200 rate of fire) and devotes it to weapons. The result was a very interesting but ultimatly balanced ability. (When on, the ship may be slower, but you dont want it to catch up with you.. :SURPRISED:

Well, I certainly like the Orion idea and I will give it the ol' college try in finding some ship designs for them. As for the Ferengi, I had a thought about them, why not make them the trade ships for all the races? It would seem to fit that they would be doing the bulk of the trading through out the galaxy. So just make the little trade ships, ferengi ships & let each races refinery ships be race specific. Adm Cobbs
The Map is certainly not canon, it came from a Fan Fiction site. But I agree with Major Stress, in that its really dificult to find any credible map of the ST Universe. This map has Federation space on the other side of the Klingon Empire because it is supposably set way farther into the Star Trek timeline. But its all fan fic.
