well it seems to make sense to me that the charged missile ability makes them worse. There are a lot of worthless techs in this game, but the idea of one that actually makes your units worse does bug me :P
In the Vasari fleet, the Evacuator comes in #2 on my DPS stopwatch timed list vs pirates at lvl 1. I know, I was shocked too, but that is the way it is.
please share your results! :)
Lets not underestimate the difficulty of doing this. It involves marking units and hitting the "Scuttle" button. Repeatedly.
haha yes. Let's not :)
yes it's the sins exe.
yeah I agree the market does seem to make it a one-resource game. You could make it so that each purchase increases prices nonlinearly based on how many have been purchased recently, but they should IMMEDIATELY affect the price. I suspect that the market was changed partly as a response to the 'first to ctrl+f6 twice wins' problem, but this is the wrong solution.
I'm not sure why the Illuminator lost total hp/shields. I thought people generally agreed it was already a bad ship (?)
now to check out those missile frigates and see how much hps they gots
Er okay, apparently the missile frigates have been changed, but not by all that much. TEC LRM: The same costs 275 45 25 (used to be 250 40 20) Advent Illuminator: 520 hull 450 shields (as opposed to 500 500) costs 380 60 55 (used to be 350 50 40) Vasari Assailant: 360 shields (used to be 340) costs 400 65 45 (used to be 360 55 35) I am not sure if the pro

sweet 4th post :D
yeah I have to admit that as much as I like vasari, in my humble opinion RA is degenerate-ly powerful.
All in all, kinda like how I can't move ships without them just moving right freaking back where they were, this issue just takes away a lot of the fun I was having. Lets hope 1.3 fixes this.
Oh yeah that and also I like how I can't simply double click a unit to select all the units of the same type on the screen... like in every other rts ever (besides red alert which has weird controls) :P
so wait wait you're telling me I don't want to get charged missiles? Isn't that *incredibly annoying* that they actually make my assailants worse? That sounds incredibly lame -__- If this is true I want it fixed immediately!
sweet I'll make sure to examine all of these twice before I play any multiplayer games so that I will be a huntingx clone :P
Well I think that's just how the game runs. It's not a particular problem of your computer. See it always either runs 100/0 or 50/50, it doesn't mean your cpu can't handle the game.
well okay maybe there is a difference between "smp" and "multi-threaded" but I don't think anyone here was talking about motherboards with dual sockets... WinXP home supports dual core processors as you say, and as far as I know it should support quad core processors, including Intel's. Never heard anyone complain that xphome can't run a q6600 properly....
okay I didn't notice this at first but the Soya "steals resources" from the enemy planet. How many though? It sounds like a crippling strategy if you play map like point blank....
in general I would say micro matters a lot less than it did in say starcraft If your apm was below a certain level in starcraft, you couldn't be a good player. Sins provides superior ability to quickly manage production and fleets, and there aren't as many things you need to click manually. In my experience you need to micro most (not all) capital ship abilities, some cruiser abilities, and then you need to move several large groups of ships. The battles last longer, so you don't have t
I think he might have been joking.
I seriously doubt it. That is my expert opinion -__- If you really need a performance boost for Sins with that excellent system (which I doubt), buy a better heatsink and overclock it higher. With any luck a decent week e6600 can get over 3.6
also sometimes motherboards lie. If you have a recent processor (beyond pentium 4) then you can use the Core Temp program to check your temperatures. It's what all the cool overclocking nerds use :P http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
well if you haven't overclocked your system it shouldn't be overheating. Unplug your system, open your case and make sure that the heatsink is properly seated and that the cpu fan is running. Clear out any ridiculous amounts of dust. Make sure the cpu heatsink is properly seated, for instance on the default intel core 2 heatsink make sure that all four pins are pushed in all the way. If you can't find any problems you could try reseating the heatsink yourself. Make sure to completely cl
that is strange... it shouldn't happen. I doubt it is hardware-related.
well last I checked being rude is a venerable RTS tradition -__- I hope it's not true because I don't feel like using the desolator ;)
if you use the GalaxyForge program it gives you a bit more control... actually a lot more control. It's available in the Downloads section of this website :P
yeah I have to agree that what Frogboy says in that quote is very dubious. I understand where he is coming from, I think. It can be very frustrating for new players if the "competitive" ones take over the culture. On the other hand there are many (if not most) players who obviously aren't interested in noncompetitive play. Good players won't want you on their team if you don't have a good win-loss record, and it's a pain to achieve that status when people just leave.
