We're aiming for next week, but not sure exactly when.
cool!
You kidding me?You say "fairly fast" when your computer essentially has the best video card and almost the best CPU on the market?o.O
Uhh the 8800gtx is great but it's not the "fastest" anymore. Also 2.6ghz isn't very high of a clockrate. If you overclock at all you're gonna get way higher than that. I think "fairly fast" is pretty accurate. If he had a 45nm quad a 4+ghz and a 9800gx2 (or two of them) then I would say his computer is very fast :P
so uhh when does 1.04 come out?
I specifically stated that a quadcore CPU is a waste of money
Are you kidding? If I had a QX9770 I would be getting tons of use out of it, for instance I would be bragging about it on several forums, and that's just the first thing that comes to mind :P
My opinion is that the TEC have the worst capital ships, but I think you underrate Armistice and Ion Bolt. The bolt has a ridiculously low cooldown, so you can prevent multiple ships from escaping. Armistice is good for splitting the enemy fleets in half but requires some fancy flying. And yeah the Kol's gauss cannon does suck :P
I think Itharus is half-right. I think he's right that it is important to keep RA balanced with tec trade ports. But I also think that it's lame that once a vasari player gets to RA it takes 2-3 players to hold the vasari player off. There's no reason a vasari player can't split his (free) forces to both attack and defend in multiple locations at once if you try attack his economy. All we can give are opinions, eh? Mine is that Itharus is wrong :P
oh nevermind, I was thinking of the e8200 for same price as e6850 But anyways the e8400 is not the "only" processor people should be buying. There's nothing wrong with picking up the e2180 for $70 and overclocking it past 3 ghz :P
well no capital ships shouldn't be gods of the battlefield lol I just think they should be worth building (besides the first free one) :P
Maybe you could make the explosion of a capital ship destroy a good portion of the enemy ships in the vicinity. Just a thought.
I think this would be a bad idea, kinda like a minimum range for missile frigates :P But yeah I feel that with the possible exception of Advent capital ships (Advent don't have as many trade ports as TEC and don't have RA to tech up to, and get more capital ship experience later, besides which their capital ships have excellent abilitie
It would be interesting if capital ships had double the shields, hull, and armor.
This is actually something I pretty much agree with. Of course some other things would have to be changed for balance, for instance possibly capital ship direct damage abilities. Or for instance this would make embargo rush more powerful because it would take forever to damage the Sova.... But I think overall capital ships could use a doubling of hp. A little while ago I mo
I would make sure that your motherboard supports a the processor before you buy it. Not all old LGA775 motherboards support Core 2, and not all of those support Wolfdale (45nm) chips. I did a quick google search for your motherboard and it seems that at least some versions of the ASUS P5N32-SLI are meant for pentium 4 and pentium D processors but don't say anything about Core 2 support. As far as I can tell the "Premium" version that you have supports Core 2, but this doesn't mean that
yeah I don't see why some people are saying that carriers are underpowered I don't see how you're supposed to catch up to them now! They seem very good to me....
I am watching the replay now. I am confused why Kruelgor still hasn't upgraded the population of his home planet 18 minutes into the game. Besides the early trade ports, HuntingX is getting a lot more credits simply from his home planet, and it seems like Kruelgor desperately needs credits. Okay I watched the whole thing. The game was a joke. Krug never scouted and essentially did nothing to pressure with his large early fleet of disciples while Hunting built about 8+ trade ports. Krug
because each trade port gives you more money while you only need one media hub to get the allegiance bonus, and it's much easier to defend yourself from culture than it is to spread it offensively. You need multiple trade ports and don't usually need more than one or two media hubs. Many trade ports, few media hubs > lots of media hubs (just like lrm > disciples)
yeah I have to agree with jinx I watched that replay. innociv's teammate wasn't very good, and should have attacked hunting a lot faster. Or they should have made sure to win the pirate bounty and send it at hunting... but they didn't, and he didn't rush hunting fast enough, and the game was therefore over. And that's stupid, that RA is so powerful that once it comes online you more or less win. No ability should be that powerful.
the whole point was to make it easier, not to add another task I must periodically complete. If I turn off the autocast, I'll probably forget to do it for a few minutes while I'm microing... better to leave it on and scoop up the RA ships like normal
You actually can hotkey the phase stabs. Just grab one and create a control group, ie-Ctrl+9. Then hit 9 and shift+click another phase stab. Ctrl+9 again. This should be old hat for anyone who's ever played an RTS. Then you can hit 9 to pull up the group of stabs and just tab through. I believe "Q" summons the fleet, so you can just hit tab, Q, tab, Q, tab, Q, etc.
Er okay thanks I guess(?) I will use your suggestion, however disrespectfully you put it. You can't rally th
well it should be nerfed but it should still be powerful considering the ridiculous trade port advantage of the tec, imo. Possibly just triple or quadruple the antimatter cost or cooldown? On a side note if you think it's a grind to produce ships as fast as a vasari RA player, it's annoying to search all your planets with phase gates for reinforcements. You can't simply hotkey the production facilities. I wish there was some way to rally returning armada ships but there isn't >
well the subtext is 'good job' or 'thanks' No I was actually trying to inform them that they successfully fixed it....
answer to my own post: I guess they have to go drone hosts :X
it would be easier to create "competitive balance" mods if there was some sort of independent organization or group like TDA in dota, but it seems that there is no large group that would be able to cause everyone to properly load a mod correctly For my two cents I think monsieur huntingx has some good points. I also don't understand why illuminators were made worse. Look at the damage chart: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p7xc_snd9Cc-6o2UwvPEWUg&gid=1
yeah it's definitely running better for me
why do they need a pat on the shoulders? We paid for the game, they get the money, and we get to bitch at them! :)
I concur. I can almost finish a game of sins before I can navigate to the next page :P
maybe I'm being dense but the maps all seem to already say versionnumber 1 However when I open them with galaxyforge I get blank space. If I change the version to 0 then I get an error message. Either way I don't seem to be able to edit maps anymore....
