There is not a maximum on the longest trade route. You should search for old thread about this, as it has been discussed in great detail several times. The calculation of the longest routes can seem a little iffy, but it turns out its not :) Also, its not the location of the planet physically that is looked at, rather the location in the phase network.

I always envision that if the story is infact played out, we might eventually see a temporary alliance among the current races storywise, driven by desparation against such an overwhelming foe. Wouldn't exacly be original if that is infact going to be the case, but hey! its good story... you know.. the one who can't wipe me out fastest is my friend? lol
Meanwhile, most people have probably already resorted to illegal solutions... *sigh*
I would like to see a "game time" clock(one that is consistent too). We don't expect planets to be populated in seconds and star cluster conquered in 10 hours in the first place, but it'd be nice to see game time as the devs imagine it. At the moment, I cant get a sense whether i've guided my empire for decades or a month, or what!
With TEC, you can lose your ENTIRE fleet at the front lines and still bounce back with a deadlocking force before the enemy has a chance to penetrate your inner worlds (err.. minus high level caps and skill being equal..) . Thats a pretty big advantage :P. That is, if you got your economy going, as you should do with TEC... In other words, infinite reinforcements... pretty much, don't worry even if you lose 5 ships to other race's one, becuase you should be
This has been discussed to death so many times on this forum, but its good to say it anyway... its too bad that the people who should be reading this don't... at the end of the day, DRM only penalizes legit customers.... *sigh* ...
There wouldn't be much of a fight to begin with actually... either they'd pretend to be wise and not fight, or both of em would just play pingpong with eachother's first attacks for all eternity. I guess the real question is, in either case, which one of them would get bored playing nice first.. that guy'd win.

Marza spam is easy to counter for multiplayer (as has been said, no scouting, no stratgic jumping, no spreading of fleets, no countering[the barage is interuptable right? so you dont even need chain phase out or reverence even, just once after it start= ability disabled until it recharges?so in that case you could take care of the 9 marza with 2-3 marauders with l 3 phase out since it charges so fast... i haven't checked if it is interuptable though, just thought it was] are not events that w
And as far as the production capacity goes, it's not infinite. That supply is maxed when I feel I have little army at all. Even with large fleets enabled it seems I can't scrape enough units together to effectively take systems, and defend the ones I already have. .
I guess my wording wasn't clear enough. What I mean is you can keep building ships and sending them to the gateway worl
Yep, press the colored in button (first button) in the second row
In addition to what others have already said: I share your experice with the other races. If i'm doing everything right, i lose neglible amounts of ships while playing as Advent agains multiple unfair AI, and even less as vasari, but I lose a LOT as TEC. But this is to be expected... rant follows: TEC is supposed to be the worst fleet, cost v cost and supply v supply, and they are. But if you are playing TEC right, your econ and production should be good enough by the time you
The capital ship levels idea seems a good one to me, even though its not the purpose of this topic. Having pretty much the same abilites availble, but the caps for each ability are like level 6, 7, or maybe even 10 would mean you will almost ever have the same exact level 10 caps of the same type :) having a mothership with level 10 shield restore and one with level 10 malice might be a bit too game breaking though. For encouraging multifleets I have an idea (inspired b
As has already been said, the reason is infact that 10 minutes is too long for comleting the developement upgrades. But personally, I would say if the situation you do this in justifies it, such as needing logistical slots in a hurry, or linking the planet to a trade route, or it is a valuable strategic asset, or a lot of other things that could be the case (and are all reasons we all love sins) then go ahead and do what you are doing and don't worry about the lost income too much. However, y
Ok here's the problem I see in this discussion: Most people are comparing their set-in, heavely optimized, completely personalized, correctly installed XP rigs with their out-of-the-box Vista machines. Unless you got your XP rig in the bast 18 months or so, you had to do about as much (or actually more most of the times), to get it working well as you do with Vista. And for XP I've done about 20 reinstalls(forced, not counting optional
*sigh* well, i though about it some more and arrived at the conclusion that in the future , i would like space combat to be as it is now. nonexistent. We'll have diplomatic shuttle spams instead. there. would anyone else like that ? alas, before you tell me, i know its impossible.
As some people have pointed out, fighters are essentially useless in space. Why? Because they need 4x the delta-v of missles... and life support, a copit and other junk. Plus, missles don't die under ten gs.So no fighters.
This is what i was talking about earlier. Come on, if we have the tech for FTL, is it so hard to conceded we would have other scifi tech such as inertial dampners, anti-grav fields, etc. etc. that would allow pilots to easily survive forces we currently
I find it ridiculous that people here are trying to tell us whats possible with current tech. Absolutely stupid. If you can say that theoretically, FTL travel is possible - which is pretty much the foundation of all space battles, as if you can't travel FTL in space, there won't be much to fight over - then you can pretty much assume by that point it time, if indeed it happens, we will have sufficient tech to negate the other laws of physics as we currently understand them. - Personally i'm in
How lame... I was looking forward to another Starwars 3rd person/1st person shooter. I enjoyed the Jedi Knight series on the PC. Their excuse is beyond belief... If, truely, they didn't want the game to lose its feel in order for low-end PCs to play it, why could they not just release it for high-end PCs? Its not like other games aren't already doing that. I wish i knew what their REAL reason was.
LOL... this thread is has even funnier trolls on both sides than Kreulgor. Seriously, whats wrong with you people?
TGE= Palpatine reincarnate? :P
@setarcos Umm... you don't really know the postulates of the theory of evolution do you??
Ok can we just close this topic and stop pointless arguing that won't get anyone anywhere? Evolution believers: You have nothing to gain from this argument. Obviously the ones "too stupid" to see facts, etc, whether they learn ID as a science or not... will just end up eventually flush of the gene pool due to natural selection without your arguing,so you can rest assured and leave them alone. ID believers: You have nothing to worry about either. God will somehow guide the "unb
this .. is ridiculously pointless the two sides of the argument are irreconcilable. this is just unproductive conversation often resorting to personal attacks on peoples' beliefs and or intellect...prove me wrong.
And this is where you get the chance to let your strategic mind shine :D. For me tone of the things that works against unfair AI is to go find choke points early and focus on colonizing /fortifying them BEFORE I focus on the planets inbetween. This can be a real gamble though and results can be quite interesting/fun
