Unpinning everything from you empire tree also helps reduce lag quite a bit. I run a cpu that has 3.3ghz on each core so Sins doesn't lag out until I get into the 20-25 hr mark with long crazy games with friends. Often by then each faction's doom is fairly imminent. [e digicons]:D[/e]
s it possible to remove the visual prompt for mines
Not sure if I follow completely, though I do know that even if you remove their icons and reduce their mesh sizes completely, they still show up in the tree on the left hand of the screen. I usually have all those items unpinned to reduce game (as they are technically a second instance of the game). Not sure how to deal with that?
The new B5 mod is out with a hotpatch for the latest version of Trinity. Should be 4 or 5 months before they have a working version for Rebellion. Something to keep in mind too. I think Distant Stars recently updated as well, though it's still a port from Trinity and has some bug issues.
I know exactly how you feel blazenfury. You should hang out Friday evenings / saturday evenings with the crew over at Carbon's Pew Pew Fun Zone on Team Speak. Sometimes it's empty but most times it's full of a usual crowd that plays a mix of slow / fast setting games. We usually pick mods that we've never played before and try them out (which is absolutely hilarious). We're pretty laid back and casual, usually FFA with locked teams and pirates on or off. &nbs
You guys ready to rock out Friday night?! [e digicons]:D[/e] I propose a 'Fast' settings (no faster) with pirates on FFA! I'll be around between 9pm-10pm till whenever we finish. Vanilla Rebellion or a specific mod, doesn't matter.

Would help with optimizing system resources, esp on a large map... The old, non-passive, version works as well. In fact, if you include both options on a mine clearer, it works out quite well.
Though late game it can add to the lagging that adds to the game. Something

They've made quite a few optimizations in this regard. [e digicons]:D[/e]

After that happens I'll start taking down NPC pirates for bounties and loot and continue from there. Hopefully I'll end up in a superfighter with a massive Vanduul bounty on my head after getting paid lots of credits by the Empire and

It is nice. Haven't done much with it but it is very ... different and friendly at the same time. It's not as simple as the old style BIOS as Jafo pointed out but for me it's been easy to navigate and fairly intuitive.
