Star/Clad will have to address this properly. I've tried to work around the problem in much the same way because I wanted a series of maps with "players/Ai" starting at specific points and strengths... to no avail; it's a complete pain in the ass with no mention as being on the list of things Star/Clad plan to address for the SINS Expansion -which royally ticks off many. You've got the map in the right place btw. Campaignesque maps should simply be 1 player vs another/AI

Fixed the Ancient Gifts map after seeing some frustrations with how sometimes you get the artifact, sometimes you don't. Even if tweaked to 0 exploration on the homeworld, you didn't always get it. SO I tweaked it back. Samaz's Ancient Gift ZIP includes slightly modified GalaxyScenarioDef
you need to now build 5 labs, get wormhole research and then fly through. Or look very closely at "Ancient Gifts" -check the first planet and the very end of the file- then do similarly to your file (the home planets that is...) This can be applied to a variety of maps and i'll be figuring out how to add it to my GSDef file for ez-mapping :) Be sure to copy/paste from the .galaxy file itself to get the structure/tabs correct. planet de

Has the AI been buffed at all to do more planetary research (instead of just pop1 on all worlds), more civilian/tactical structures, better fleet building/composition, and research? Nothing more annoying than checking your AI to see 128k credits, 24k metal, 41k crystal and only tier 3 civ, tier 4 military (civ/mil research done sporadically) and very poorly upgraded planets.
any save games from vanilla might crash out if trying to load them into 7DS. Did that help?

Yes, being able to do this in GalaxyForge really is needed, but until then... I found the easiest way is to use Graph Paper . -click to see how I am setting up my map. I've drawn up where my stars are (numerical assignment) and jotted down the wormholes (numerical assignment), then what wormholes are linked together.
