[quote]Yes, I agree 100% with this. The odd thing about the Advent is that it basically takes 3 of each research center to get to the 'next' big upgrades. (military/eco)3 for tradeports, 3 for illuminators. Where as TEK only needs 2 of each research center to get to their 'next' upgrades - Javelis/tradeports. And Vasari only need 1 center to get to Assailants (big advantage in rush strategies) but need 4 for tradeports (hosing them in the current Cash-is-King 1.03v of game)Perhaps as mentioned,

I don't think the advent sucks, I think a lot of their skills in the research tree are misplaced, which causes them to be severely underpowered initially. Getting started with them seems to go very slow and if a Vasari or TEC player decides to rush you earlier on, then its GG. Perhaps if Culture had a more substantial effect then Advent would have a starting advantage in a specific aspect of the game just like Vasari and TEC.
Piracy on PC is the equivalent of used games and rental games on consoles. Problem with PC is that there is no possible ways to rent games(or take the risk of buying used ones because of product keys) to try before you buy, so piracy serves as a surrogate rental service. Most people who rent games usually don't end up buying them, the same can be said for people who pirate games. I think the reason is the same why people rent, buy used games and pirate games. Because the game price is too high.
Alright I just brought the game and I had the opportunity to play online for a bit. I've seen two things occur that have interrupted my gameplay. One is when I try to join a game I get a delay then the disconnected message. And then the other when I actually join a game and get to play for a bit. Its followed by a massive lag spike and then the message that everyone has disconnected and I'm *migrating(?)*. If anyone can offer some help let me know. I brought this game to play online and so fa
[quote]i was going to cut down your quote, then i realized that Everything you just said is 100% correct... i have had the Same experience... its like the AI has ONE enemy... YOU! and when i pull a fleet action against one race, (even though the other AIs are NOT on a team) every other AI seems to KNOW i've sent my fleet away from my planets and sends them in to attack... i could understand this if they had scouted and see this, but realistically, they pull this attack AS soon as my ships are on
I've been getting smashed by the AI, terribly I might add. I can't even get anything going before I'm overwhelmed by every AI team in the game. They all come to my planet(s) and just kill everything while not hitting each other. Its freaking annoying. Its just simply overwhelming to get something going without getting owned. If my fleet jumps to another planet, all of a suddenly invaders approach. When I return, they run away. And then the planet I just left suddenly gets invaded. Its r
