I got the exact same problem!
DreamMystic
This would be terrible. Even at 2x there is not enough control for the game to be effectively played. You forget things, you neglect things, it's hard to enjoy the game when you are trying to remember what you were going to do next.Game length is not an issue at all. Unless you play purposely turtlish, even the closest of match-ups should not last longer than 2 hours! Many players simply don't know how to be effective with few units.
So basically what you are saying i
Having Fun => Time Flies => 3 hours feels like 30 minutes. Bored => Time Slows => 3 hours feels like never-ending torture.Seriously , I dont know why people are complaining about the game length. time always flies when I play sins , and I make sure to play the game before bed so that it only eats into my sleep time if anything.
You don't understand why some people complain about the game length? I will give you a hint, in your post you used multiple "I"s. Everyone isn't y
Nope, I don't see any changes that helps speed up multi player games. One game just takes entirely too long for one sitting. Which is my problem with Sins.
There is 128 people online now. There use to be 270 or so around this time. My biggest problem with the game is the amount it takes to complete a match. I'm sure many people agree and it might be the reason why there aren't a lot of people online.
ugh no edit when i just posted...Anyways:Also basically how culture SHOULD work in my opinion is a "weapon" that forces people to scuttle logistics buildings in order to build their own culture. IF they don't, well they'd lose that planet and those logistics buildings are worthless. You shouldn't need a 1:1 ratio of broadcasts.. but it shouldn't just take having a cap there and 1 or 2 of them to "fight" a planet with 8.
This is EXACTLY it. If a player invests in culture th
Heh, now we have conflicting test results...Haeso had a 20 vs 40 test with 9-10 illums left, DreamMystic had the same test with 17 LRM left... In 3 tests for DreamMystic!Seems a bit weird, lol.
Ok I tried twice more. The first had 17 left and the second time 18 left.
I can see where HuntingX is coming from. People talking things and not backing it up.
Its just a game man.
20 vs 40 and you still had 9-10 illums left? That does sound a bit OP, heh. I'll run some tests too... Thinking that the LRM placement can play a large factor here, should be ways to minimize the illums getting all 3 guns firing.
I tried it, LRMs won with around 17 left. Even if I placed the Illums in the center. I could micro managing them wrong though. But I've tried three times with similar results.
Making excuses when you get owned is pretty good. You've lost at least twice to X now.As regards to that game, I got hit by a Sova rush as 1.03 Vasari, the crappiest faction in existence. I thought the map was large, and was trying to RA rush. Instead, I saw it wasn't, and started pumping late assailants. I STILL downed the most capital ships AND killed the most frigates. You were "owning" me alright. YOU newbs went mass Sovas and embargo abused (AND STACKED IT LIKE BUG EXPLOITING SCRUBS)
Illums better nearly be twice as good as lrms or Advent is getting ripped off. I have NO problems with even though I have gotten owned by players using them.
I personally think that Sins is a very unforgiving game. By this I mean its usually impossible to correct your mistakes that you made earlier in game. Like if someone who is inexperienced and they went civilian first with a enemy 2 jumps away. They are basically dead. They just can't respawn and correct their tactics, so the game basically ends right there for them. Its very hard for most people to actually get better in the game, just because the time it takes from getting from the be
Happens in every online game I've ever played. No surprise to see it happen here.
You can't flip allies, because then it would get rather messy if you were playing a multiplayer game with friends... and inadvertently defeated your own ally.I don't understand. Couldn't you just make it so culture didn't effect ally planets?
Oh never mind mis-read. Why would anyone want to flip a ally;s planet anyway? Unless he meant enemy.

I think the sins being sold on the website is a special edition copy that comes with extras.
So far dx10 seems like a epic failure. I haven't been impressed by it at all.
Redmaw, Why would you take defense vessels? They don't do enough damage to caps, cobalts or lrms. I would rather take drone hosts at least they will be able to do some damage.
He needs a new video card, his processor is decent and I'm sure it can OC to 3.0ghz if he is into OCingHow on earth can you tell that his processor is "decent" without even knowing its architecture? As has been pointed out, architecture is important. A 5.0GHz P4 wouldn't be as good as a 3GHz Core 2 Duo, even ignoring the extra core of the duo!
I mis-read, I thought he said he had a 2.4ghz core 2 duo. :P

Double post ftl, couldn't even correct my typo :/

He needs a new video card, his processor is decent and I'm sure it can OC to 3.0ghz if he is into OCing. However, most games today are gpu limited rather than cpu limited. So he would see a higher performance increase with going with a new video card.
