But if we were so "into violence" we would have much more efficent killing methods then our current or experimental levels of weapons technology. ...... Are you referring to the in game TEC as "we", or are you living on a different world from the one I inhabit?
LOL. Indeed. And the human race is markedly restrained. We are stuck on one planet, we are in no hurry to develop the technology to smear planets across a solar system! If humans have no ot
This is how a female Vasari will sound like when ready for mating
That's actually terrifying. Lol. If I was a vasari, i'd pick then to run like hell, lol.
Yes. I jsut redownloaded again, and tried, again. Load the mod file, wait... *ding* and the game freezes. Alt-Tab out, and theres a mini dump notification thing. Click okay, and SoaSE closes. :(
896 in GameInfo 320 in Mesh 440 in Particle 106 in Window Hmm..... Yes, I redownloaded it just to be sure.
Stardock or IC or somone should really answer this... He paid MONEY for it... Don't asshole out on us, SD/IC!
I know how to take a screen shot, it was the uploading bit that was getting me.... anyways, here. [link="http://us.share.geocities.com/schooldrop/upload.bmp"]WWW Link[/link]
Lol, StarscreamX, BURNT!
I seem to be having issues loading an image, but here's the path: C:\Documents and Settings\Universal\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\MyMod (I have XP)
OMG WTF!!!! Ok, so I try loading my mods, again and again. Then, on a whim, I place the unaltered reference files, straight from download, into the mod folder... AND IT DOESN'T WORK! Wtf is that!?
Did you reload the mod when you loaded the saved game?
Way to triple post. I have an issue, though! I pasted all the files into my mod folder, along with the ones I edited. BUT When I try to run it in game, it crashes the game! All I changed in the files were values for damage, cost, and maneuverability. :( Why isn't it working?
Okay, so I made my modifications to some of the files... How do I play them? I copied them, with the whole complement of other GameInfo files, into the Mods folder. I go into the game, look to the mods list... and it's empty. Uhm.
It's goal is to just show you, where you can easily see it, exactly what artifacts you have which are working currently. It's easier than looking at each individual planet, right?
Aight, thanks. But that means you can't jsut make a game online, with the mod, and have other people play it with ya right off the bat?
maybe even useless police units, etc
LOL! Anyway. I suppose that maybe there are personal shuttles etc, just they might be too small to see? Most of the frigates and cruisers etc that you command have hundreds of crew, while shuttles would need no space for living quarters. (kinda like buses) Also, private ships would not need to carry weapons, or huge drives, etc. The cruise ships, though... lol. Adding even more 4x there... research "tourist ship
Excuse me for being a noob, but what do you mean by "resource files"? And what is actually edited; the game itself, meaning only you can play the mod, or a map, meaning others can play as well?
I have some ideas for a mod... So how can I go about making one of my own?
Lol. It's the principle of the thing! Still, this is a thread for discussing a realism mod. So we are discussing ideas of how to make it more realistic. We know its a game.
Hmm. I suppose you have a point, with the fighters... But I can't help think that the engines needed to push side to side on the fighter's nose would take up weapon space, as well... It also occurs to me that watching fighters seesaw back and forth around their target like that could get pretty dull after the fifth or sixth run. Heh. I still think it's a wonder that the fighters can take off and land w/o splatting on the carrier's shields... :L
They show a planet or and asteroid or a star outline... Just not the exact types. Still, why don't phase lanes end in nowhere... 0.o
Ahhh... I suspected similar, but the other 50 percent of me suspected one of your number was a secret Starcraft fanatic! ^_^ And just what is the sound, when it comes down to it? "ka chunk, chshhhhhhh" 0.o
Hmm. I suppose I understand phase lanes leading from one planet to another, thorough searching would uncover that soon enough. But how do we know what on the other end of the phase lane, and why does there have to be something there? And why on earth are there phase lanes leading to space junk and similar! Goodness. It would add a little realistic caution to the game if phaselanes did not display what was at the other end, (if anyt
Starcraft sounds? What the heck? When I clicked on a Gauss platform, the sound it made was identical to that of a bunker loading in Starcraft. What's up with that? I'm sure if I looked hard enough or listened close enough, I would find more... aural plagiarism? What's up with that? Is it just some common sound, something you can download off soundsnap or something? Hunh? Any body else spot things like this? Mostly sound, but anyt
