Just another shit sandwich from EA. This is exactly the same DRM as they have on Mass Effect PC and Spore, only instead of limiting your activation to three they're giving you five. How benevolent of them. As long as they insist on using this DRM scheme I'm still not going to buy any of their games. Idiiots.

Very cool. Keep the updates (and the pics) coming, ID.
Shipmaster: My understanding is any updates going forward will only be available though Impulse. If games are sold through digital download, they'll also only be available through Impulse, but I believe the expansion planned for next summer will also be available on disc through retailers.
I like them both. I prefer NWN1 for on-line play right now (but that's really because I have a favorite server and have no desire to look for a new one for NWN2). For single player gaming, I prefer NWN2, although NWN1 has a wider variety of player-made modules and custom content available right now.
Already cracked, from what I've read on another site. Guess the DRM isn't really doing much to prevent piracy is it?
Whats an "SD site" ?
A StarDock site. ;) The quote button is working for me, using Firefox 3.0.1
Your post looks fine to me, Kitkun, but I was experiencing the same thing as the OP right up unitl today. So far, everything looks to be working okay (except for some reason my spell checker refuses to work in the reply box). I'm using FF3.
There's always going to be a cynical point of view that looks upon something like this as just soaking the customers for more cash. Hell, I'm pretty cynical when it comes down to it. Of course this is designed to make money. That's what a business does. However, given the fact that these micro expansions are not required and you'll still be able to play the game with others whether they or you have these micro packs or not, I see no problem with it at all. Sounds great and the feature RaveBomb quoted is brilliant.
Yep. I'm seeing exactly the same behavior (text box oddness and spell check not working).
https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/322320/page/1/#1852907 I started a thread about it earlier today. *edit* Bloody hell, I can't even post in FF3 unless I change the page rendering to the IE7 engine (plugin).
Okay, there's some real funky stuff going on with the site. Is there an ongoing update or something of that nature? Now the 'recent posts' box shows half the thread titles in a bright sapphire blue color which makes them extremely difficult to read. *edit* This is occurring in all three browsers (FF3, IE7 and Opera). If I click on the link to the threads in the 'Recent Posts' box, when I go back to the Home page that thread now has the text in white again if it's still
Well, now it's working. Weeeeeeeeeirdness.
Okay, some new quirks have appeared. Couple days ago I couldn't access Stradock's website with any of my browsers. That's since cleared up, but now there are some odd problems with this site. I cannot log in with Firefox all of a sudden. There is no text in the 'login' button. In fact, the button does not appear, although it's actually there. When I move the mouse over where it should be, my cursor turns into the hand icon and I can click on it. However, when I try to s
Kryo, just an update; all's working for me now with both Opera and FF3.
Just tried again with IE7 and got in. Still can't with Opera and FF3. Definitely something weird going on though. *edit* Just got in with both FF3 and Opera. W00t!
Update: cannot access stardock.com from FF3 or Opera. On a whim I fired up IE and tried and... got in. So, looks like possibly a browser issue?
Working fine here. If you open a console window (cmd from the Run box in the start menu) and enter the command tracert www.stardock.com, does it complete or does it stop partway?
It completes for me, Kryo, but I still get the Connection Interrupted message when I try to access the site.
I don't know who should or shouldn't (not being in the game industry myself, I can't really say) but one thing I thought was cool was on a certain game I and a couple others that moderated the game's forums were mentioned as a special thanks in the end game credits. I thought that was cool.
Cool. Thanks for the replies. Still not working for me. Maybe tomorrow. :)
As the title suggests, I can't seem to access Stardock's website. I keep getting an error message "Connection Interrupted". Happens when I click the blue Stardock orb at the bottom of the page, when I tried a link in one of the posts from this forum, and even when type www.stardock.com into the address bar. Tried with both Firefox and Opera. No issues with any other site. Anyone else having issues? Site down for maintenance or something?
Which logitech keyboard do you have?
I'd assume the G15.
Blizzard is a business. You do realize the purpose of a business is to make money, don't you? If you're so dead set against it, then vote with your wallet. No one's forcing you to play. I don't like the monthly fees either. But guess what? I don't play MMOs. It really is that simple. I'm curious how you had a cell phone but didn't pay anything as well.
The problem with that, psychoak (and I've said this on the BioWare boards as well) is if you buy the game, you're basically telling EA or any other publisher that this DRM scheme is A-OK with you. Of course, people are free to do as they wish, but I was bitten by BioShock's DRM and any publisher that uses a DRM like that can kiss my ass before I'll hand them any money for it again.
