Don't sacrifice building ships. Here's what you need to do: Scuttle that cap ship factory, and use to proceeds to buy enough crystal to upgrade your homeworld to the next pop cap (if possible). Otherwise: Do not research the next fleet capacity until you have at least a fully thriving homeworld and a fully thriving asteroid.

Maybe instead of a pirate planet, there could be a wormhole to the delta quadrant... a sphere would come out and attack the player with the best stats.
There was more than one battlestar. Build a Kol battleship.
Why not make the borg the pirates?
what about the traders from asimov's foundations series? they were the most technologically and militarily advanced people in the galaxy....
I would be a real warrior, except that chem mid terms have me studying, and this is the only distraction that I can bear. Damn you acid-base equilibria. Who cares about the partial disassociation of slightly soluble ionic compounds? *shakes fist*
Allright whatever. Just let me see the replays... douches. For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill. -- Sun Tzu, The Art Of War
Well, George Bush does a great job of "feigning" incapacity.
[WANG] are really good players. They just are not nice guys. I hope people see the irony.
omg. Someone said Major Stress's problem was that he found a girlfriend? It would be mean if it weren't already so funny. By the way, Trekkies have girlfriends. Sometimes other Trekkies. Sometimes not. And people like that can get pretty kinky. Klingon love anyone?
Why do people keep requesting less factions? Major stress wants to make some major stress and create them all. Let him. It will be better.
If my seige units can encounter starbases, I hope I get starbase destroyers to accompany them. No supercapitals please. these just make the game about whoever can build one first. Or, at least make it possible to destroy one without having one yourself.
The whale is irreplaceable if you can keep it alive to level 6. "drain planet" is just unfair.
Yeah, there should be 4 1500 credit destroyers... 1) A tanker that can force opponents to attack it briefly but does less damage. maybe has more shields and hull 2) A battle destroyer that takes out heavy cruisers and maybe lrms because i hate those :). 3) A support destroyer that increases firepower somehow... and of course destroys lrms because i hate those. 4) A destroyer that destroys destroyers of course... or maybe a cap ship that does this. i think ther
see, these guys are total douchebags. (see above) "perhaps excel can help with that" "in conclusion, fartz" ... in conclusion, join magog
I played against [wang] one time. I said: "I don't understand how I lost. My fleet was bigger." [wang] said: "you played worse." I was a little irriated. Join [magog]. They are better players and "[they] are nice guys".
Well, why don't they just limit the number of RA ships total someone can have fighting at one time. They would be replaced instantly, but they could only be so many ships (a balanced number). It seems that being able to fill up the entire supply is what makes it cheap. No one can build that fast.
I don't care if they add graphics options. Like you said: "a small part of the market".
One more empire tree question: What does pinning do? It seems pretty useless.
Use light frigates with sabotage reactor. Do not send them in if he has too many LRMs. If heavy cruisers chase your light frigates, run the frigates behind the enemy fleet and force some of his heavy cruisers out of the fight. Then use your own against his support craft.
Although I keep getting stomped in 9 AI on unfair huge(multi) games because the AI team up on me if I do this (or just because they do), I find that the best defensive strategy is to: a) Take only as many planets as you can afford to improve. b) Take planets towards a computer whose color you think is ugly. c) Continue taking planets until your empire touches his. d) Scuttle factories far from his empire, and build factories c
When I was playing the other day, I noticed that as capital ships level, not only do they gain more hp and shield points but also they gain more regeneration of the two. A single level 7 capital ship can live a long time against even a small clump of heavy cruisers (maybe 10), not even considering external healing. Can anyone tell me exactly what the stats are for a level 7 battlecruiser? Do they gain more firepower as well? It was exciting to see my diligence in keeping
I don't even have access to do that. I am using a university network. :(
Well, I can't jump a cap ship to light speed any better than a frigate. In fact, I'd take an instant jump ability... except they would annoy me when other people use them.
I just played a game against AI. Repair definately helped me there.
