For once, after reading a post about pirates, I could not agree more. And, yes, I did read the whole thing. Here's to hoping Ironclad listens in on this one. I'm glad someone around here has something more helpful to say than "nerf pirates".

Expansion of the planet/capital ship name character limit.
Now THAT was a bump. But, hey, I suppose this is the kind of thread you don't need to repost. I think. Anyways, it's been a long time since I made my list. Sure as Hell changed a lot since the time I made it. So, here's what the Garrant Commonwealth fields in its expeditionary fleet.
It would require what I imagine to be a great deal of new engine coding.
I have a bit of a hard time believing this. I don't know a thing about engine coding and very little about coding in general, but this just seems way too simple to require much - if any - new code to be written. At the present moment, we actually have this functionality in the game, albeit in an improvised manner. Simply order your ship towards the direction y
Indeed, more map templates for random and designed maps would be splendid. I'm really sick of the whole "home cluster -> long jump -> random nonsensical jumble of gravity wells" pattern.
Currently, it doesn't do a thing. It's just more culture your enemy has to purge, except it's at a planet they won't want to take. However - and I've said this before - I'd like to see culture affect pirates. I've heard people say a million times that culture isn't worth much more than an income booster and I've little reason to doubt them from my experience, so every boost culture can get is a good one. Especially for an expansion focusing on non-violent approaches.

I second these suggestions, as well. It'd be one more step on the road to helping the AI realize when it's being used instead of befriended. Another thing I'd like to see added to the AI's relations modifiers is Military Cooperation; when the AI asks for help, you aid them. Positive relations follow. If you fail to help them in a fight, you take a relations hit. This would help eliminate the whole "absentee ally" problem I've seen happening in the game; my ally is losing gr
It's definitely not you. I get it, as well, and this sort of thing didn't happen in Entrenchment. Still waiting on a bugfix from the developers.
I certainly wouldn't mind either.
Id like for the pacts to change the weapon type of your LRFs for example. Like if you get a beam pact, your lrms fire beams! but still benefit from your own missile research. This would be cool.
You know, this makes me think back to Red Alert 2 where, if you got a spy into an enemy battle lab, you'd get access to a mixed technology unit; for instance, if you were an Allied nation, getting a spy into a Soviet battle lab would unlock Chrono
The TEC's Neruda is a gold mine once you get that donation ability. I swear, I've made more money off of that thing than all of my planet's tax income combined.
I've recently (Today, in fact) picked up STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl after a very, very long time looking at it. Along with it, I picked up Clear Sky in good faith. Now, I'm a story nut. If something tiny irks me about the writing of a game, it may set me off of it completely. Along with that, I prefer to experience the story in order rather than going 3-2-1-4, like I mistakenly did with the Half-Life series. So, I want to hear from someone who's played both STALKER and the
Lately, the Sins website's main page has been showing up like this for me. I've no idea why and even more confusing is that it's only the main page that does this for me. However, that's not mentioning the other bugs I get with the forums. Are we going to get any improvements to the website? It's always felt really buggy in comparison to other
I'd at least like to see those gigantic explosions do something more than just look pretty. It just looks unsatisfying to see this massive explosion in the middle of the enemy fleet cause absolutely no damage or...anything, really. Even a simple physics jab to all of the frigates nearby would be an improvement. This is especially so when a starbase goes up. If the Kol's railgun can split a siege frigate in two, then why isn't that enormous blast turning it into a field of burn
I approve of this idea, as well. In any kind of space empire, you'd have numerous subcapitals to keep the colonies under the government's influence. It only makes sense that a solar empire would have some, as well.
Now "improving" in the description has gone missing. Seems like you've got a case of skinny fingers now.
That's still a starbase, upgrade, and required research you need to invest in to keep your worlds safe. And you need to place one at each planet. Meanwhile, you just need one Novalith to keep all of your enemy's worlds at risk. And, on top of that, a Novalith angled at a planet means that world isn't generating any tax income ever again. That's besides the fact that the TEC don't even need to invest in a fleet for their weapon to work at its full potential. You just build one, turn it
And the AI is still abusing siege frigates. I'd been playing for maybe 30 minutes and - big surprise - first contact with one of the computers is four siege frigates trying to run past my two patrolling capitals. Are there going to be any AI improvements beyond the diplomatic features? I appreciate all the work Ironclad's done, but, really, we've been stuck with the same artificial idiocy for too long. Are overall AI upgrades on the s
An option for this would be decent.
No argument from me.
Pirate missions? I'm getting more and more interested as the days go by. Certainly glad I pre-ordered now.
I've already pre-ordered. But catching me in a public game has about the same odds as finding a purple needle in a stack of blue needles.
Not subtle enough, bot.
I'm glad someone noticed this post. I was a bit worried this would go by the wayside.
